Full Deck Challenge 2025 / 6 – light blue

Hello, here is my take on the 6th Full Deck Challenge with the theme: light blue.

I think this is my personal favorite so far. I love the color. I found a Artist Almanac 2023 page that had lots of light blue on it. To it I again added bits from Yuna´s collage papers that she gifted me. The label sticker is the same, like on my previous deck card.

My constant, again, is a date stamp. To that I added some light blue washi tape, some fodder I drew last year for the 100 day challenge (flowers and cloud). For finishing touches I used a paper doll by Tim Holtz and a stamped word (Rubber Dance stamps).

Here is the video:

See you next week with another deck card share!

Full Deck Challenge 2025 / 5 (dark green)

Hello, here is my next deck card share for the 2025 Full Deck Challenge. This time the theme is “dark green”.

I used a paper gifted by Yuna on the background, as well as a gelli printed paper (I used Rubber Dance stamps for that). In addition I used my constant (a date stamp) and some old Sassafras alphabet stickers. The label sticker is something I took from previous deck into this one.

Then I added a stamped word (Rubber Dance stamps) and a word sticker, some yarn and two fodder pieces that originate from my last year´s 100 day challenge. I fiinished the background with a Edding glitter brush pen in green.

Here is the video for you to watch:

I am enjoying this challenge very much! Not too much pressure, as it´s only one a week.

Happy crafting,

AJ page with Distress Inks and glitter pens – Rubber Dance

Hello everyone! It´s again time for another Rubber Dance project share. I am up with a life quote themed art journal page share today. For this page I used the Wheels stencil, Loose Florals 2024, Mix It Up 6 and Mixed Sentiments 1 stamp sets.

I started by pressing misted Distress Ink (picked raspberry) with an acrylic block directly onto the background. Next I took the Wheels stencil and applied candied apple Distress Ink thru the stencil onto the background. I then grabbed the Mix It Up 6 stamp set script stamp and added stamping to the background with a light gray stamp ink.

After that I stamped the flowers with the Loose Florals 2024 stamp set onto white paper and colored them with alcohol markers and glitter pens. Then I stamped the leaves, using the same stamp set, onto blue paper and added some glitter pen details onto them. I also added some Gloss Spray splatters in turquoise onto the background for interest. I then adhered the leaves, the black and white stamped couple and the flowers onto the page.

After that I wanted to add a quote to the page and found a suitable one. I partly stamped the words – using the stamps from the Mix It Up 6 set – and wrote the rest by hand. I finished the quote with a stamped sentiment from Mixed Sentiments 1 set at the very bottom. I still felt like the page needed some more details, so I stamped the black splodges using the Grungy Butterflies stamp set and also added some stamped grey numbers here and there. This stamp is part of the Mix It Up 6 stamp set.

Do you use quotes in your art journals? I love adding them to my pages. I hope I could inspire you to play in your journal today! Have fun!

Mixed media tag set – Rubber Dance

Hello everyone, I am up over at Rubber Dance blog today with a tag set featuring gelli printed fodder elements. For these tags I used the Butterflies and Moths, Mix A Sentiment 2023 and Loose Florals 2024 stamp sets.

Here is how I created the tags:

I first started by stamping brown Distress Oxide Ink with the Mix A Sentiment 2023 stamp set onto the kraft tags. Next I took black stamp ink and the leaves from the Loose Florals 2024 stamp set and stamped black leaf images onto the tags.

Then I colored the leaf images with glitter brush pens and added some gelli printed strips to the bottom of the tags with some old book page pieces. For the gelli print piece I used the same Loose Florals 2024 stamp set.

After that I added some white gel pen circles to the background for interest and adhered some butterfly fodder and ribbon to the tags.

For finishing touches I added some liquid pearls to the butterflies and attached sticker sentiments to each tag.

Here is also a quick step-by-step to how the butterfly fodder was done:

First create a colorful gelli print. I used three tones of paint and “drew” random scribbles to the paint. Next I stamped “Butterflies and Moths 2024” with black stamp ink onto the gelli print. After that I fussy cut all the images. This way I have plenty of fodder ready for my next projects.

Creating the fodder and tags was so much fun. I hope you give it a try! While at it, make sure to try out different color combinations and patterns. This way you have plenty of material to work with for future projects.

Happy crafting,
Sanna

Vintage-style Art Journal page – Rubber Dance

Hello and Happy New Year! It´s Sanna here with a “vintage”-style art journal page share today. For this page I used the Mix It Up 5 stamp set and the Sketchy Leaves 5 stencil with plenty of different Distress Oxide Ink tones.

For the background I used the tones “wilted violet”, “fossilized amber”, “iced spruce” and “aged mahagony”. I applied the color onto a acrylic block, then misted it with water mist and pressed the block onto the paper. After that I took the Mix It Up 5 stamp set and added inked and misted stamp images in a row to the background.

Next I took the Marks 3 stencil and wiped some “aged mahagony” thru it onto the background. For the circle stamp image from the Mix It Up 5 stamp set I used “iced spruce”. Then I took a gelli printed Sketchy Leaves 5 leaf image and adhered it onto the page. For the journaling I built my own sentiment with the Mix A Sentiment 2023 stamp set. And for finishing touches I added a Tim Holtz paper doll for decor.

Here is a full step-by-step video from start to finish:

I hope you enjoy watching the video and get inspired to play with your Rubber Dance stamps and stencils in your own art journal! Have fun!!

Blue Brusho Xmas cards in bulk – Rubber Dance

Hello, it´s my turn today again again at the Rubber Dance blog and I am up with another set of Christmas cards. This time with a strong blue background. For the cards I again used the Textured Xmas Trees 2 stamp set and the Stars 1 stencil.

I created quite a big piece of background paper at once, so I could create a big batch of cards. Here is how I made the background:

First I took the Stars 1 stencil and transparent texture paste. I applied the paste with a palette knife onto the surface thru the stencil. Some areas are fully covered with stars, some only have bits here and there. Next I took out a white mixed media paper (a thicker one that takes wet medium well), applied water onto it and then dabbed some white and turquoise Brusho powder onto the wet paper. Then I just let the powder do it´s magic on the wet surface. If needed, I added some more blue / white on top to make sure all areas got treated.

After the surface was dry, I sprinkled some speckled embossing powder onto the surface and heated it first from under the paper (this prevents the powder from flying away/moving) and then applied heat from the top, until the powder had melted. Now all I needed to do, was to cut the paper into right size for my white card bases and I had several card backgrounds ready.

To these cards I added the stenciled and inked Xmas Trees 1 stencil outlined trees. Before outlining and fussy cutting the images, I treated the paper with Distress Oxide Inks and stamped patterns with Mix It Up 5 stamp set on top. then I only added a stamped and fussy cut sentiment (from Textured Xmas Trees 2 set) onto the card.

On this card I used the same stencil and stamps, but this time, outlined a piece of an old map book page to create a fun Christmas tree centerpiece. Also the first card is done in the same manner.

On this card the centerpiece is again stamped with the Textured Xmas Trees 2 stamp set, but onto a piece of paper I brayered paint that was left over from a gelli printing session. The random stripes of color make the trees look really interesting.

On this card I´ve used the same basic idea, but the tree is stamped onto a gelli printed paper and then fussy cut.

This card is also done with the same basic idea, but mixing both gelli printed and brayered papers together for the centerpiece trees.

I love how the blue background is so strong in color and the embossing powder creates an illusion of falling snow. I hope my idea inspired you. Wishing you a lovely holiday season and many happy creative hours!

Artist Trading card set with Textured Mushrooms 2 – Rubber Dance

Hello, it´s my turn over at the Rubber Dance blog again today and I am sharing a fall themed Artist Trading Card set, created with Textured Mushrooms 2, Mix It Up 6 and Mix a Sentiment 2023 stamp sets as well as the Lattice stencil. As my starting point I again used the Gloss Spray mushrooms from my post back on the 20th of October. I made plenty of them at once and now have fun material to play with.

For this set I started with a red patterned paper piece that I fussy cut into right size. Next I took Dina Wakley paints in tones Mineral and Sage and applied those thru the Lattice stencil onto the papers very randomly. After the paint was dry, I added stamping with the Mit It Up 6 stamp set stamps and brown stamp ink.

For additional interest I added some Gloss Spray splatters in Cheddar and Fuchsia and let the layer dry before attaching some screen prints to the cards with a stapler. Now all I needed to do, was to arrange the Gloss Spray mushrooms onto the cards and adhere them on place. For finishing touches I added some Mix a Sentiment 2023 words to the ATC´s as well as added details to the mushrooms with Posca pens. Finally, to add more depth to the cards, I inked the edges with a brown Distress Oxide ink.

And here is the video start-to-finish for further details and steps – hope you like it and get inspired!

Happy creating!

Art Journal page with stencils, Distress Oxide Inks and Textured Mushrooms 2

Hello everyone, it´s my turn to share another inspiration project over at Rubber Dance blog today again. This time I have a fun art journal page share with tutorial prepared for inspiration. I used Big Ovals, Textured Mushrooms 2 and Round in Circles on this page and I have a video tutorial up for steps and details.

For this art journal page I used the Gloss Spray painted mushrooms I had created for my previous post and hand plenty left over from. But first I started by creating a fun background with the Big Ovals stencil and Distress Oxide inks in orange and yellow tones. On top of that I have added Gloss Spray splatters in aloe, fuchsia and sand.

Next I´ve arranged the mushrooms in two circles into the middle of the page and added a Distress Oxide ink stamped circle image (from the Round In Circles set) into the very center of the page. Then I stamped some additional circles with brown stamp ink here and there to the background and finished the page off with some medieval Gloss Spray splatters and a fall themed quote.

Here is a video tutorial to give you a better idea of every step of the process – hope you like it!

I really like this stamp set so much – it was so much fun to create something in bright and happy fall colours into my art journal. I hope you get inspired to create too!

Clean and simple card set with Textured Mushrooms 2 and Gloss Sprays

Hello! It´s project share day over at Rubber Dance blog today for me and I am up with a mushroom themed card set in clean and simple style and slimline format. I used my favorite fall stamp set (Textured Mushrooms 2) on these cards with Gloss Sprays and a typewriter written sentiment.

Here is how I created the cards:

First I took a piece of glossy cardstock and applied several tones of Gloss Spray onto the surface by wiping the color here and there and then adding some droplets on top.

Next I took the Textured Mushrooms 2 stamp set and stamped mushrooms onto the colored paper with black stamp ink. The ink needs to dry a while, because of the glossy surface, but once it is dry, you can continue with the next step.

After that I fussy cut the colorful mushrooms. For these cards I only needed two of them, so I have plenty still to use on future projects.

Then I stamped smaller mushrooms onto a plain slimline card base with black ink and added a colored, fussy cut mushroom as a centerpiece into th middle of the card (adhered with 3D foam tape). Now I just needed to decorate.

I then wrote a sentiment with my old typewriter onto a piece of leftover gelli printed paper, adhered that onto the card and added some Gloss Spray splatters around the mushrooms and the card was done. I did the same steps with both cards.

I hope you get inspired by this easy-to-do idea and make some fun fall-themed cards yourself! If you don´t own Gloss Sprays, try using other spray paints, spray inks or watercolors. They work just as well for this idea. Just replace the glossy paper with a different one. Have fun!
