#tuac5minchallenge – DAY 10

Hello and happy Tuesday! It´s day 10 with the Ugly Art Club 5 min challenge for me – I cannot believe I have made it to day 10 already (and btw. I still have no idea whatsoever on how long this challenge will continue..). But here is day 10:

I´ve changed the format and did a tag this time. I still have some pre-prepared tags from the face drawing challenge left over and I thought it would be a good place to use them up. And it´s good to have some bits prepared already when you start with the 5 minutes… because it´s VERY short a time frame.

I personally find that this challenge is way harder for me than the face drawing one. Why? Because I am supposed to do something else every day in such a short time frame. And there is only so much you can do. Doing heavy media would mean drying times. And I´m way too impatient to wait for the next day :-D. I want to finish in that time frame. Therefore it gets harder to decide what to do each day. But should I find myself stressing too much about it, I will change the process and just start one piece, do a few steps, let dry and work on it again the next day. But today was fun. Simple and easy steps and got lots of junk used up too. Win win :).

I also lost a piece of book paper (very tiny) while filming and spend a ages looking for it – never found it. So you´d think that by now I knew I should prepare everything BEFOREHAND, but I still loose pieces, seach for stuff and be my chaotic self. And that in the 5 minutes frame is just dumb. But that´s just me.

I hope you still enjoy the video and the art piece I made. See you again tomorrow!

#the100day project – days 21-25

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today I´m shortly sharing the next faces of my personal #the100dayproject2021 challenge. Like mentioned before I´m drawing a face a day on a pre-prepared, die cut tag. If you want to follow me face drawing journey „live“, you should follow my Instagram account (here). And you can also watch the videos directly on my YouTube channel (here).

Day 21

Day 22

Day 23

Day 24

Day 25

My take on face drawing is an artsy, abstract one. I am not trying to learn how to draw realistic faces, because at the moment a) it is not my interest and b) I don´t think I am very good at that type of drawings. But this type of mixed media face drawing just interests me very much and I also enjoy it a lot!

I´ve still got quite a few days to go until day 100, but it has been lots of fun so far. So be sure to come back next week to take a look of the next 5 :). I wish you all an amazing week!!!

#the100dayproject2021 – first 4 days of faces

Hello everyone! Inspired by Dee Dee Catron I took the leap of faith and joined in for my first ever #the100dayproject this year. I had been following amazing fellow crafters do this challenge year after a year and admiring their awesome videos and results, but I was always too scared to try. I was afraid I wouldn´t have the time or it would be too overwhelming. But this year I thought: oh well, I might as well try it. What is the worst that could happen? That I wouldn´t succeed? And? Who cares? It´s me challenging myself here!! I am not competing with anyone here :)!

So far I´ve finished day 10/100 or more, so I´m still going strong. If you haven´t seen what I do, hop over to my Insta Account. I´ll be sharing a result/tag every day there. I´ll gather them together here on my blog a bit later for you to see. So if you want to follow „live“, make sure to click that follow button on my Insta :).

So this was „Day 1“

A „one-line“ face drawing on a pre-misted, die cut tag. Colored and drawn with Posca pens. For this video, go to my YouTube channel HERE.

This was „Day 2“

This tag was precut with a STAMPlorations die, then painted black and after that I drew the same face, like on day one, but this time with my WRONG HAND (in my case the right hand ;-)..). And again used Posca pens. Here is the video!

This was „Day 3“

For this tag I pretreated the background with Gesso, then I sketched a face on a piece of paper (very simple lines!) and after that I blocked my view and drew the face again without looking (from muscle memory/blind) onto the gessoed tag. This is so much fun and thru practise you will get better and better. Also, the results sometimes look so cool too!!! Here is the video for this tag.

And finally, this was „Day 4“

For this tag I had pre-misted the tag with spray ink in a lime green tone. I then took a good look at the tag and tried to see a form in the colorsplatter. And I did! I then sketched the face that I saw in the splodge of colour and added some detail with Posca Pens. Here is the video for this tag!

I hope you enjoyed the first 4 days of me sketching simple faces. I am by no means someone who considers herself as a talented face drawer!! So I´m just practising on a level that feels good for me and thus this 100 day challenge of sketching faces on tags works so good for me. I don´t set the bar too high and I am not expecting perfect results – if I did that, I wouldn´t have to start at all. I am just having fun and if you enjoy seeing what I do, do follow me on Insta for more :).

Have a great day!!

25 Days of Christmas Tags – STAMPlorations

Hello and happy Friday!!! I´ve again joined the 25 Days of Christmas Tags Event and blog hop, organized by the lovely Tracey Mehak McNeely. Today is STAMPlorations DT girls day to shine and share their Christmas tag inspiration with you :).

This hop started on the 1st of November and is 25 days long. There are plenty of possibilities to hop, get inspired and play along during that time, so don´t miss out! Here are the sponsors of this years event:

and here is the foto step-by-step to the tag process:

Step 1: I used a thick photo cardstock as my background and die cut that using the Stitched Tags Nesting Dies by STAMPlorations.
Step 2: Next I took lighter green cardstock and die cut it with the Holiday Words Die Plate.
Step 3: Then I die cut 2 sets of two various red papers with the Christmas Baubles #2 Layering Dies.
Step 4: After that I adhered the Holiday Words onto the tag base and layered the baubles together.
Step 5: For decor I added a piece of golden pearl ribbon and twine and a Simple Christmas Clear Sticker sentiment onto a piece of hand cut banner.

I wanted to use traditional colours this year and I love how by just adding a few layers of various cardstock, the tag has an overall interesting and happy look. And still was so easy to do! This tag idea is also great, if you need to do many tags. Just get your die cutting machine out and do piles, after that you could ask your kids to help out with putting them together and you can have a nice time crafting together!

Now hop on to the next blog and STAMPlorations blog for more inspiration. If you got lost on the way, you can always return to Tracey´s blog HERE and go from there :). Remember to stick to the rules :).

Happy crafting and hopping!!
