Vintage-style Art Journal page – Rubber Dance

Hello and Happy New Year! It´s Sanna here with a “vintage”-style art journal page share today. For this page I used the Mix It Up 5 stamp set and the Sketchy Leaves 5 stencil with plenty of different Distress Oxide Ink tones.

For the background I used the tones “wilted violet”, “fossilized amber”, “iced spruce” and “aged mahagony”. I applied the color onto a acrylic block, then misted it with water mist and pressed the block onto the paper. After that I took the Mix It Up 5 stamp set and added inked and misted stamp images in a row to the background.

Next I took the Marks 3 stencil and wiped some “aged mahagony” thru it onto the background. For the circle stamp image from the Mix It Up 5 stamp set I used “iced spruce”. Then I took a gelli printed Sketchy Leaves 5 leaf image and adhered it onto the page. For the journaling I built my own sentiment with the Mix A Sentiment 2023 stamp set. And for finishing touches I added a Tim Holtz paper doll for decor.

I hope you enjoy watching the video and get inspired to play with your Rubber Dance stamps and stencils in your own art journal! Have fun!!

Art Journal page with stencils, Distress Oxide Inks and Textured Mushrooms 2

Hello everyone, it´s my turn to share another inspiration project over at Rubber Dance blog today again. This time I have a fun art journal page share with tutorial prepared for inspiration. I used Big Ovals, Textured Mushrooms 2 and Round in Circles on this page and I have a video tutorial up for steps and details.

For this art journal page I used the Gloss Spray painted mushrooms I had created for my previous post and hand plenty left over from. But first I started by creating a fun background with the Big Ovals stencil and Distress Oxide inks in orange and yellow tones. On top of that I have added Gloss Spray splatters in aloe, fuchsia and sand.

Next I´ve arranged the mushrooms in two circles into the middle of the page and added a Distress Oxide ink stamped circle image (from the Round In Circles set) into the very center of the page. Then I stamped some additional circles with brown stamp ink here and there to the background and finished the page off with some medieval Gloss Spray splatters and a fall themed quote.

Here is a video tutorial to give you a better idea of every step of the process – hope you like it!

I really like this stamp set so much – it was so much fun to create something in bright and happy fall colours into my art journal. I hope you get inspired to create too!

Art journal page with Distress Crayons, stencils and stamps – Rubber Dance

Hello, it´s again my turn to share a create project over at Rubber Dance blog today and I´m up with another art journal page share. I made this one inspired by the beautiful watercolor pages Susanne makes, only I used Distress Crayons and stencils on the circles instead of watercolors. The products I used here are Weed Love stamps and Cross It, Marks 2, Marks 3 stencils, Grungy Butterflies and Mix a Sentiment 2023 stamps.

I started by applying various tones of Distress Crayons onto the page in circular motion. After that I misted the areas with a little water spray and then, when still wet, place a stencil over them and using a baby wipe wiped some of the wet crayon away.

After that I added some black details around the circles and stamped with Weed Love some images onto the page. I also added some blue crayon droplets and golden pigments in droplets for additional interest to the page. Next I wrote some asemic writing here and there and finally decorated the page with a Grungy Butterfly and created a sentiment with Mix a Sentiment stamp set.

Here is a start-to-finish video for all the steps:

I hope you get inspired by some of the techniques and/or ideas and grab your art journal and start to create! Have fun!

Art journal page with white space and fodder – Rubber Dance

Hello everyone! I am again up overe at the Rubber Dance blog today with an art journal page share. For this page I used the Sketchy Leaves stamp set as well as the Organic 3, Cross It and Marks 3 stencils with Distress Oxide Inks.

I started by inking the stencils with various blue and green tones of Distress Oxide Inks and then misted them lightly with water mist. After that I just pressed small areas onto the page to create a very light and almost fading image of stencil patterns.

Next I took some premade (see my previous project for details) Sketchy Leaves fodder and arranged them onto the page in clusters.

Then I added a Tim Holtz paper doll and fussy cut wings for it from my Grungy Butterflies fodder bits. For finishing touches I created a sentiment with Mix a Sentiment 2023 words and the page was done. I really enjoy using white space on this journal page with the clusters of fodder to draw the eye towards to.

I hope you got inspired by this art journal page. Now grab your stamps and stencils and create something fun in your journal!
Happy crafting,

Mixed Media cutouts 2 – kreativt_uttrykk

Hello again! Here is yet another project I created using the mixed media cutouts by Åshild Halvorsen. This time it´s an art journal page.

First of all, go to her INSTA PAGE for awesome inspiration and more details on her various social media sites. Also, you can buy her cutouts in various sets (in different colours) over HERE (her Etsy-page).

And here is my art journal page:

I was playing with the cutouts and combined Distress Oxide inks and Rubber Dance stencils with them on this page. I first added some stenciling to the page with “cracked pistachio” and Organic 3 stencil. I love this pattern, by the way!!!

Next I took some “peacock feathers” and the Cross it stencil . On top of that I added the gorgeous blue toned birdies and some of the border images as well as circles. Then I added some asemic writing and colored some parts with a red Posca pen. I love red and blue together. I also outlined some of the crosses and added some doodling to the cutou images or next to them, to be more precise. Then I wrote a quote and fussy cut it into bits and adhered the pieces onto the page. I really like the freshness of this page and the birdies are really very cute!!

I hope I could inspire you to take a look at Åshild´s designs and Rubber Dance stencils :). They make a really nice combination here.

Happy crafting,
