Hello everyone and happy Monday! I have not been feeling my mojo lately, thus the absence/pause here on my blog. Also, I had been on holiday. No, we didn´t travel far, but stayed in the country and tried to plan our few days stay-away-from-home-but-stay-safe type of vacation as safe as we could. I´ll be sharing a photo-heavy post about that some time this week. Be sure to come and read it, it´s something very special, at least if you ask me :).
But now to today´s project share:
It´s a mixed media style card set of two cards. I created the banner pieces following one of Tim Holtz´s tutorials/lives on Facebook a while back. And ever since I have been looking for a perfect spot for these banners. Finally I realised they´d make for great cards!
For both cards I applied texture paste thru a stencil (my own line at STAMPlorations) and then colored the paste parts with Distress Crayons. After that I added some stamping with Elizabeth Craft Designs stamps.
I will be sharing more card projects on my blog throughout this week (plus our special travel story), so do stop by later this week to see what I´ve been upto.
Hello everybody and happy Saturday! Today I´m stopping by to share happy news. I´ve got another set of stencils available over at the STAMPlorations store.
Due to the Covid-19 situation shipping between the US and Austria has been very slow to non-existent, so I actually haven´t been able to hold the new stencils in my hands yet, but they are all available at www.stamplorations.com already. Just go to the store, then choose „stencils and masks“ and then „Sanna Lippert Designs“ and the section that says „new“. You will find them all there.
Here are a few photos of the designs as a teaser:
I´ve got a few square stencils and some in the standard size, like the previous ones. Also there are a few abstract patterns this time as well as some winter/Christmas themed ones too. And also a set of zodiac stencils.
I cannot wait to get my hands on these and to play with them. As soon as the postal services work „normal“ again, there will be a video featuring all designs, so you get a better idea. Meanwhile, some of the US girls in the design team have already been able to play with some of the stencil designs, so do keep an eye on the STAMPlorations blog for more!!
I´m again very excited about this line and cannot wait to see how everybody uses the stencils!!!
Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! Today I´m again sharing another „tag“ from my play time with Dina Wakley´s gloss sprays.
For this one I´ve used all kinds of residue pieces I had left over from previous play. The background has a layer of residue paint on it, on top of that there is a layer of Lindy´s spray ink.
Then, on top of that is a piece of Dylusions Creative Journal packaging paper that I applied some night gloss spray onto. There is also some magenta (does not show in the picture, sorry) gloss spray pressed onto the paper from a stencil. That was residue that I just could not wipe away.
Beneath the Dylusions paper there is stamping made with grey StazOn (stamp by Tim Holtz – Tiny Text). And on top of that paper, there is a cluster of Collage collective paper strips and a piece of used, dry, color covered baby wipe. All attached together with a tiny attacher. Then a hand written (thanks Lizzy!) sentiment and a few buttons.
I´m loving these „tags“! Creating them is almost meditative for me and I don´t think much when making them. Just putting stuff on paper :). So much fun!
Hello and happy Saturday!!! Today I´m sharing another art journal page with you, this time from my black journal. This is my first take on a kraft page. Turned out quite fun with gloss sprays.
I wanted to see how the gloss sprays show on a kraft paper background and bright colours show really well. I love the resist surface they create! And the slight shine!
I just added spray splots and let them run on the page and react with each other. After that layer was dry, I sprayed midnight thru a stencil of mine (see both positive and negative image on the page).
Next I added some Tim Holtz Tiny Text stamp sentiments and misted and pasted (modeling paste thru a stencil of mine) baby wipe circles. I love the texture they create!
For finishing touches I added some chipboard numbers in same colours as on the background and then wrote the quote with a white signo uni-ball pen. Simple and easy, still quite a few layers but also some white space left still.
And now the most important question: Have you played with Dina´s gloss sprays yet? I´ve played just a little and I love them. So much fun! Totally love the glossy effect they create and the fact that there is no shimmer or shine to them. I do love shimmer sprays too, but it´s nice using ones without for a change :).
Hope your weekend is great!! Happy crafting, xxx, Sanna
Hello and happy Thursday!!! Today I´m stopping by to share yet another peek into my art journal. This page started off with crazy Dina Wakley gloss spray layering. And then it turned out to this:
This, by the way was the before:
I had so many layers of gloss spray on that page that is was just about to turn into a color mud. But I saved it! I applied black chalkboard paint and only let some areas of the original background (the circles) show thru.
I then applied some yellow and sand toned acrylic paint (by Dina Wakley) around the circles and grabbed a paint comb and moved it across the page. I love the end result it created!! I have some stenciling going on on the background too and I love how the magenta gloss spray really pops form the circle.
I then fussy cut some hearts from the Collage Collective book by Dina and added the hearts, some silver watercolour splatters and some turquoise heavy body paint dots to the page. Then just a nice word to go with it all (done by my dear friend Lizzy in her handwriting).
Such a crazy page, but I love it! I really like the comb effect and the colours.
