Full Deck Challenge 19/2025 – paper weaving

Hello and happy Friday! Here is my take on the ShanoukiArt 2025 Full Deck Challenge number 19: paper weaving.

I used Yuna´s collage papers on the background. Cut into very thin strips. After that I adhered the ends of the horizontal strips to a piece of cardstock (to hold them on place for easier weaving). Then added the vertical parts and when the piece was done, adhered it onto the deck card.

On top of that I added a collage fodder leaf (Rubber Dance). This is also a carry over item from my last deck card. My constant is a date stamp and I added those randomly onto the weaved areas. As a focal point, I decorated the deck card with a black and white stamped flower (Rubber Dance) and a stamped word. The flower has some Stickles on it for additional sparkle.

Hope you enjoy this deck card – I will be sharing the next one next week. See you then!

Stamped card background card set – Rubber Dance

Hello, it´s my turn to hare some Rubber Dance inspiration today. I created another card set and tutorial share. For this card I used only one stamp set – the Mix It Up 7.

I started by applying Distress Oxide Inks in yellow, pink and light green tones with a blending brush onto a piece of white cardstock.

After that I chose stronger Distress Oxide Ink colors for my second layer (blues, greys, browns and greens). I randomly stamped with various images from the same stamp set onto the background. I also changed the ink color every time I changed to another stamp image.

Next I took the wings and flowers from the same stamp set and stamped with black stamp ink onto a piece of white cardstock. Then I fussy cut the images.

Finally I glued everything onto a white card base. The black and white images formed the focal point. For finishing touches I also added some Stickles to glimmer, like seen on this photo.

Here is a video on the full process for you to watch:

I had so much fun making these card backgrounds. I hope I could inspire you to grab a stamp set and make some fun backgrounds! Have fun!

Full Deck Challenge 18/2025 – junk

Hello and happy Tuesday! The ShanoukiArt “Full Deck Challenge” 18/2025 was about “junk”. This is my take.

I chose a piece of old book paper for the background with some cigar labels. On top of that I added my constant, the date stamping. After that I adhered a postage stamp to the background and then made a hole with a Crop-A-Dile big bite to attach my junk to the deck card (a clothing label and a cola can piece (both attached to the deck card with a brad).

A gelli printed Rubber Dance stamp image decorates the card and some stamped words got added for detail. Also by Rubber Dance. And here is the start-to-finish video:

See you next week with another deck card. Thanks for stopping by!

Art journal page with Distress Inks and Rubber Dance stamps & stencils

Hello everyone, here is a little share from when I was randomly playing in my art journal with recently made collage fodder pieces and Rubber Dance stamps and stencils.

I started with Distress Ink tones “ripe persimmon”, “picked raspberry”, “mustard seed” and “vintage photo”. I first applied the pink, yellow and orange tones with a misted gelli plate onto the background and created the random color areas. Next I pressed some “vintage photo” onto “Dotted 1” and “Marks 3” stencils, misted them and pressed the inked areas directly onto the paper. This created a hint of a pattern.

Next I used the “Pencil Marks 8” stamp set to create the oval shapes onto the page using black stamp ink. After that I grabbed some premade collage fodder pieces (leaves and butterflies) and adhered them to the page. After that I added some turquoise ink splatters (Dina Wakley Gloss Spray). For finishing touches I created a sentiment with stamped words (Mix a Sentiment 2023) and some stickers from my stash.

Here is the start-to-finish video:

I had a fun time playing in my art journal. Hope you enjoyed watching the process!

Shimmer Powder Background with Loose Florals 2024 card set – Rubber Dance

Hello everyone, I am up over at Rubber Dance blog today with a set of cards created using the Loose Florals 2024 stamp set with embossing powder and Shimmer Powders. I created a fun background with those for the collage fodder cluster decorated cards.

I love creating my own “patterned paper” backgrounds for cards and other projects. This is one way of doing that: getting a stamp set out, some white embossing powder and two tones of Shimmer Powder. Letting the color spread on it´s own on paper creates interesting color concentrations and shades and makes every background unique.

After creating the background, I cut it into a right size and adhered it onto a white card base. For decoration I didn´t want to add too much, so I went with a flower cluster from DIY collage fodder pieces I made recently. You can watch the videos on those here, here and here. And here is the video on how I created the card background and finished the cards. Hope you like it!

I hope you´ll give this technique a try!! Happy crafting,

Simple one stencil Easter card idea – Rubber Dance

Hello everyone, I am up over at the Rubber Dance blog today again. This time with a really simple, but awesome, stenciled Easter card tutorial. You will need the Big Ovals stencil (one of my faves!), two tones of blue Distress Inks, a brown spray ink of some sort, washi tape and a white card base.

This was the kind of idea that when it hit me, I just immediately had to run to my craft room and try it out. And it worked out so great! I have this simple stenciled egg background for my Easter card and it is so easy to make.

First you need a slimline card base in white. Next take two tones of blue Distress Inks (I used tumbled glass and broken china). Start by adhering the card base with washi tape onto your working surface, next adhere the stencil on top and cover all unnecessary circle areas with washi too.

Now apply the lighter blue tone with a blending brush, then go over the lower circle areas with a darker blue tone. After that leave the stencil as is and splatter brown spray ink thru the stencil. Let shortly dry and carefully remove the stencil and the washi tape. Decorate with a “Happy Easter” sentiment, created with golden glitter alpha stickers. How´s that for a fast and easy-to-do Easter card idea with “Robins eggs!? Here is a video for you to watch – hope you like this idea.

You could also make yellow, light pink or light brown eggs. Whatever colors you prefer. I am going to make a few more in different colors for sure.

Happy crafting,

Set of stamped ATCs – Rubber Dance

Hello, I am again up over at Rubber Dance blog with another project share. This time I have a set of stamped Artist Trading Cards with a video tutorial for your inspiration. For this set I used a gelli printed background paper, where I used the Marks 2 and Organic 3 stencils with acrylic paints to create the paper. The following layers were done using Pencil Marks 8 and Mix It Up 4 stamp sets and the Stars 1 stencil.

I started by stamping first with Mix It Up 4 stamp set and brown and grey shadow inks onto the paper. Next I stamped some circles with Pencil Marks 8 stamp set and applied Distress embossing glaze (weathered wood) with a heat tool on top.

Next I grabbed the scallop border stamp from the Mix It Up 4 stamp set and stamped with black ink onto the paper. After that I took some pre-made paper that had stenciled glitter paste on it (thru Stars 1 stencil). I wripped some stars from the paper and adhered them randomly onto the background. Next I decorated the ATC´s with leaf collage fodder (see the reel for that here), some yarn and a wooden button. For finishing touches I added some black pen outlining, some white Posca dots and a stamped and fussy cut sentiment from the Mix a Sentiment 2023 stamp set.

Here is a start-to-finish video for you to watch. Hope you enjoy it!

See you again soon with another inspirational project. Happy crafting!

“Flower bouquet” fodder card set – Rubber Dance

Hello, it´s my turn to share a project over at the Rubber Dance blog and I am up with a fodder bouquet card set. I have made piles and piles of fodder and gelli prints recently and what for? For projects like this. I used the Mix It Up 5, Mixed Sentiments 1, Pencil Marks 8 and the Doodle Flowers 2 stamp set with the Wheels stencil on this project.

I love making leaf and flower fodder. Creating random colored backgrounds and stamping onto them and only when fussy cutting the images, to discover the beauty of every single piece on it´s own, is something very exciting.

So for these cards I used some recently made flower and butterfly fodder as well as gelli printed backgrounds. Have you tried making some yourself? It is a very inspiring process, so I truly recommend, you try it out.

Here is a video on how I built the cards together:

And I´ve prepared 2 different short videos on some fodder making, just for fun:

I hope you enjoy this card idea and the videos and that they inspire you to play with Rubber Dance products!! Have fun!

Stenciled Art Journal Page – Rubber Dance

Hello! It´s my turn today over at Rubber Dance blog and I am up with a heavily layered, stenciled art journal page share today. For this page I used the Dotted 1, Big Ovals, Cross It, Wheels, Stars 1 and Marks 2 stencils. There are also some details added with the Doodle Flowers 2 stamp set.

I started by applying heavy body paint in “olive” with a palette knife onto the background. On top of that I used a foam brush to dab “sand” and “apricot” tones thru Big Ovals and Dotted 1 stencils. After that I outlined some of the dabbed paint “circles” with a black pen. Next I took a piece of a old dictionary book and wripped and glued strips of paper onto the background.

Next I wiped some “aloe” tone with my fingers onto the wripped dictionary page pieces to blend them into the background. I then added a layer of “tangelo” with a palette knife onto the page. Next I took the Cross It stencil out and added some white paint thru it onto the orange areas for contrast.

After that I took a black with glimmer mist misted tag out and again dabbed the “lemon” paint onto the tag thru the Wheels stencil. After that I put some “lime” toned paint onto the palette knife and wiped some of it onto the tag. The next layer was done using “stoked” tone and the Marks 2 stencil. I then added the last bits of “turquoise” paint with a palette knife thru the Stars 1 stencil onto the tag.

I sprinkled some Gloss Spray in “turquoise” for interest onto the art journal page. I then glued the stenclied black tag onto the art journal page. After that I added a misted doilie for decoration and created a cluster of leaves with “Doodle Flowers 2″ leaves next to it. There is a video at the end of this post on how I created the leaves.

I finished the page with a paper doll by Tim Holtz and some black and white alphabet stickers. Here is the start-to-finish video for further information:

And this is the video on how I made the leaves fodder:

I hope I could inspire you today. Happy creating!

Butterfly fodder card – Rubber Dance

Happy Wednesday! Here is another card share, again created using Rubber Dance stamps. For this one I used the Butterflies and Moths fodder and the Mix It Up 4 stamp set.

I stamped the background pattern with Iced Spruce Distress Oxide ink and the Mix It Up 4 stamp set repeatedly. After that I grabbed the butterfly fodder I had previously created using a gelli printed paper and with black ink stamped and fussy cut butterflies.

You can find the how-to reel for the butterfly fodder on my Instagram under reels.

I adhered the butterflies directly onto the stamped card base, then added a Tim Holtz label sentiment and some Dina Wakley Gloss Spray droplets to the butterfly wings.

Hope this card gives you some spring “feelz”!!! Happy crafting,
