Full Deck Challenge 43/2025 – circles

Hello, this is my take on the ShanoukiArt Full Deck Challenge 2025, number 43: circles.

I again used Yuna´s collage papers and my carry over item – bits of old book paper – on the background. On top I mixed white modeling paste with Dina Wakley heavy body paint in turquoise and stenciled it thru a Rubber Dance circle stencil onto the deck card.

In between the stenciled pattern, I stamped my constant, the date stamp images. For decor I added a premade collage flower (stamp by Rubber Dance) and some word stickers (Tim Holtz).

Here is the start-to-finish-video:

See you again next week for another FDC take!

Full Deck Challenge 42/2025 – feathers

Hello and happy Wednesday! Here is my take on the ShanoukiArt Full Deck Challenge 42/2025 – feathers.

I started by using the plain orange paper (used it on my previous deck card too) on the background with an old book paper scrap. On top of that I added some Distress Oxide ink in walnut stain thru the new Rubber Dance stencil “Mini Textures 1“. Next I added a layer of Dina Wakley Gloss Spray in “marine”.

The feathers that I used as a focal point are from the previous deck cards collage paper bit. So in a way the feathers are also a carry over item. My constant is a date stamp. I also again added some stamped words and a button to finish the deck card. Here is the process video:

See you again next week with another take!

Masked card background with Rubber Dance products and Distress Oxide Inks

Hello, it´s my time to share a project over at Rubber Dance today. I am up with a masked card background idea and step-by-step tutorial. I used the new Sketchy Leaves 7 and Collage Leaves 3 for this card project.

I had a pile of previously made collage papers and I chose one of those as my starting point. The Sketchy Leaves 7 stencil pack has these lovely leaf masks in it and I wanted to use them to create some more depth to the background paper.

I started by placing the masks onto the paper and dabbing Distress Oxide Ink aged mahogany ink over them. After finishing this step, I removed the masks and added some water droplets to the paper. This lifted some of the ink off and created more interest. I also wanted the leaf patterns to stand out more from the background, so I outlined them with a black pen.

After finishing this step, I added droplets of golden pigment to the paper for additional shine. Then I just adhered the paper to a card base, added a collage fodder butterfly as a focal point. Next I stamped some sentiments to the leftover collage paper I had started the process with with black ink. This way I have the same colors going on the sentiments as well as the masked leaf patterns.

Here is a video step-by-step for more insight:

I hope you enjoy the inspiration and play a little! Have fun!

Full Deck Challenge 40/2025 – sweets

Hello and happy Thursday! Here is my take on the ShanoukiArt “Full Deck Challenge 2025”, number 40: sweets.

I used another collage paper gifted to me by Yuna from Austria as my background paper. I wripped it into pieces and adhered them onto the deck card. On top of that I added my constant – a date stamp. After that I took this Rubber Dance stencil and added some modeling paste thru it onto the background.

Next I applied turquoise Gloss Spray splatters on top. My carry over item are the tiny stars (a paper I used on my previous deck card). I adhered them to accompany my “sweets” theme focal point – a cupcake. The stars on top add detail. Finally, two words added with this Rubber Dance stamp set, finish the deck card.

Here is the process video:

“Be You” Art Journal page and process video

Hello, I am sharing an art journal page with a process video today. For this page I used the Sketchy Leaves 5 and Leaves 2 stencils and Loose Florals 2024, Mix It Up 5, Mixed Sentiments 1 and Butterflies and Moths stamp sets.

I started by stenciling modeling paste onto the page thru the Sketchy Leaves 5 stencil. I then used Texture Gems clear paste with the Leaves 2 stencil. After the pastes were dry, I applied ocker and light green paint on top. After that I stamped with the Mix It Up 5 stamp over the stenciled areas very randomly. After that I added some Loose Florals 2024 stamped leaves and flowers to the background.

Then I took a heavy body paint in apricot and added highlights with it. Next I used my fingers and a baby wipe to apply some dark green paint for contrast. I also removed some of the paint from the stenciled areas to make them stand out more.

After applying the paint, I used golden pigments to add droplets to the darker areas. Finally, I created a cluster with stenciled and pasted fussy cut leaves and a Butterflies and Moths butterfly. For finishing touches I added some stamped words using the Mixed Sentiments 1 stamp set.

Here is the process video with all the steps:

I hope you enjoyed watching the video and got inspired! Do stop by the Rubber Dance store and purchase a product or two. These days with high taxes, every purchase goes towards keeping a small business alive!

Turn ink residue on a stencil into a fun card background!

Hello, I am up with a card project over at Rubber Dance blog today again. For this card I used the Leaves 2 stencil and Autumn Leaves and Mix It Up 7 stamp sets. I got this idea while creating the “Hello Fall” art journal page. I was left with a stencil that had ink residue on both sides of it. I didn´t want to waste the ink, so I used it for this card background.

I like the soft look of it. Remember, the Distress Inks I used were ripe persimmon, forest moss, peeled paint and mustard seed. Those are quite strong colors on their own. But the “second image” of them turned out very soft.

I again added some golden pigments onto the surface. Then stamped the brown image with Distress Oxide walnut stain tone for contrast. I had some watercolor style stamped Autumn Leaves left, so I created a focal point with them and a paper sunflower. A handwritten word added for sentiment and the card was done in no time.

Here is the full step-by-step for you to watch. Enjoy!

I hope you get inspired to play a little with Rubber Dance stencils!
Happy creating!

“Hello Fall” Art journal page – Rubber Dance

Hello! It´s my turn to share another project created with Rubber Dance goodies over at their blog today. I am up with a fall themed art journal page process video step-by-step. I used one of my favorite stencils, the Leaves 2, for the background. More details were added with Autumn Leaves, Mix It Up 7, A to Z and Loose Florals 2024 stamp sets.

I started with the Leaves 2 stencil and Distress Inks in peeled paint, mustard seed, ripe persimmon and forest moss. I placed the stencil onto the page and started by adding the yellow ink tone. Then I took the other ink pads and brushed just tiny areas with them. I then flipped the stencil over and continued with the pattern (my page is bigger than the stencil) in the same way. After that I added some yellow to the background with a blending brush. Next I added stamped elements with the Mix It Up 7 stamp set.

Since it is a fall themed art journal page, I added some gold pigment with a water brush pen, too. Then I chose one of my gelli printed collage papers and wripped it into size. It is made using the Loose Florals 2024 stamp set on a gel plate (see the video here). After adhering the collage paper on place I took out some watercolor style stamped (see video here) Autumn Leaves and arranged them on top.

I also tuck a DIY vintage ticket (see video here) under the collage paper to create a cluster. On top of it all I added a Tim Holtz paper doll with dragonfly wings. I stamped the title with A to Z stamp set onto a paint residue paper and fussy cut the letters with scissors.

And here is the art journal page process video. Have fun watching!

I just love how the background turned out. I might just use that same idea on some cards!!

Fast and easy-to-do bird cards – Rubber Dance

Hello! It´s my turn to share a project over at Rubber Dance blog today. I have an easy-to-do set of cards up. I used the Mini Marks 1 stencil, the Textured Birds 2 and Weed Love stamp sets for these cards.

I started by stamping the birds onto a gelli printed paper and then fussy cutting them. After that I used the Mini Marks 1 stencil on the card backgrounds with Distress Oxide Inks (twisted citron and salvaged patina) and a blending tool. Next I stamped a “branch” to the card for the birds to sit on using the Weed Love stamp set. After adhering the birds onto place I added the stamped sentiments and a few hearts and stars to the cards.

Here is a short start-to-finish video for you to watch. Hope you like the idea!

If you have leftover gelli printed papers, try using them for creating coloful bird images next time. Then grab a stencil and you have a finished card created in no time!

Summer Dreams Art Journal page – Rubber Dance

Hello everyone! I am up over at the Rubber Dance blog today with this art journal page share. I used the Stacked Ovals stencil, the Carved Collection 6, the A to Z and the Mix It up 4 stamp sets for this journal page. I also incorporated collage fodder bits made with Doodle Flowers 2 stamp set and Sketchy Leaves 5 stencil.

Here is how I created the page:

I started with Stacked Ovals ad Distress Oxide Ink in picked raspberry. I inked the stencil with the ink pad and then misted it with water. After that I pressed the stencil onto the journal page. I repeated this step until the page was fully covered.

Then I took Distress Oxide Ink in antique linen and salvaged patina, placed the stencil on top of the previously created image and inked the empty areas with both inks. This created a very interesting background to start with.

After that I grabbed the Mix It Up 4 stamp set and the scallop border stamp and stamped the border along the center of the page. Next I used a black pen to outline the scallops and add a little contrast.

Then I stamped some stars with black ink onto the page, added a collage paper piece and various colors of yarn on top. Next I decorated the paper strip with collage fodder I had made using the Sketchy Leaves 5 stencil and Doodle Flowers 2 stamp set (see video here and here).

After that I took a piece of white cardstock and stamped letters with A to Z stamp set onto it. I then fussy cut the letters and adhered those to the journal as my title. I also sneaked a flower onto the paper (see the video how to make those here). I felt like the page needed some more structure, so I stamped the black line with a flower stemp stamp from the Carved Collection 6 stamp set and added a scallop border underneath (from the Mix It Up 4 set).

I am totally in love with the Stecked Ovals stencil – the backgroud was so much fun to make! I hope you give this idea a try.

Happy creating,

Full Deck Challenge 33/2025 – song lyrics

Hello, this is my take on the ShanoukiArt Full Deck Challenge 33/2025 – song lyrics.

I started by taking a gelli printed paper (used this Rubber Dance stamp for it) and wrote some lines from Derik Fein´s “Sun” onto paper with my old typewriter.

I then adhered the paper onto the lightly sanded playing card and added a carry-over-item from my previous deck card to it: a piece of old book paper. Next to that I adhered a piece of collage paper gifted to me by Yuna from Australia. After that I added my constant – the date stamp – onto the book paper part. I didn´t want to cover all the song lyrics, therefore I kept the background simple and just added some collage fodder and a sentiment on top this time. The collage fodder is made with this Rubber Dance stamp and this stencil. The sentiment was done using this stamp set. You can see how I go about creating these collage pieces, if you watch my Rubber Dance playlist on YouTube :).

See you next week with another FDC take! Until then, happy crafting,
