2nd batch of mixed media „tags“

Hello and happy 1st of July!!! Can you believe it´s already July!? June sure didn´t feel like June this year – we had rain, rain, rain and some more rain. Then it was all the time chilly and grey. Very much not June-like. So here´s to hoping that July will be a bit better. I miss the sunshine and sitting outside and just breathing in the summer vibes.

The weather is not good for hanging around outside in the garden, but it´s good for being creative! So I have been doing mixed media stuff. Lot´s, actually.

These tags are inspired by one of Dina Wakley´s Facebook lives. I had so much fun first applying gloss sprays, then bits and pieces from her Collage Collective book and then some washi and paper snippets.

These actually aren´t tags, but just wripped off pages form a very small journal. But they will make great additions to art journal pages and/or cards even.

And the gloss sprays! Boy do I like using them! I love the resist effect they create and how they react on top of each other and when mixed. And pulling prints from a spray splat – that sure is so much fun!! I haven´t even tried out what else is possible with this product, but I can say, they really are a great buy. AND the colours are just gorgeous! I really love them! And I don´t get paid for saying that, by the way :-D.

If you haven´t tried them yet and you are into art journaling, mixed media an such, I think you should give at least one or two colours a try :). Just saying!

Have a great day and a fabulous July!

Mixed media „tags“

Hello everyone and happy Sunday! Today I´m stopping by to share a set of „tags“ with you. I call them tags, but they are actually just wripped off pages from a small journal. I have been following Dina Wakley´s Facebook lives throughout the physical distansing period and have gotten addicted to her products :).

And on Friday these beauties arrived!! I had finally given in and ordered myself the gloss sprays!! And a few of Dina´s paints and some other goodies (by Tim Holtz). Thanks, Art From The Heart for the fast delivery!!

And then I started to play – I hadn´t used the sprays before, so there was lots of „spray and learn“ things going on in my studio. And once I got the hang of it, I did a few tags, a few art journal pages and such. Here is the first „tag“ set featuring some of Dina´s products.

I also used a spray ink by Lindy´s on the background (the brown one), but the rest is by Dina, Tim and Dyan. You guys cannot imagine how much fun I had!!!

On this one I just wiped some residue heavy body paint onto the background, then dabbed some residue gloss spray onto it and took a paint comb and did the pattern. Then Lindy´s spray on top and for finishing touches Dina´s washi and bits and pieces from her collage collective book and Dyan´s journal cover slip.

For the second one I did he background again with Lindy´s brown spray. Then I took bits from Collage Collective book and cut them into pieces and created the cluster. The stamping is done using StazOn stamp ink in dark grey and Tim´s stamp set called Tiny Text. I also drew a leaf branch with Scribble Sticks and added a button.

I really like the tags – I am for sure going to incorporate them either into an art journal page or onto a card at some point. We´ll see.

Alpha Flower ATC

Hello and happy Thrusday! This week I´ve sent quite a few envelopes on their way into different locations around the world. I posted a photo of my ATC´s and offered them for swapping. And I honestly didn´t think there would be so many interested 🙂 – so only after one weekend my ATC pile is down to a half of it´s original size. Therefore, time to make MORE :).

So today I´m again sharing an ATC with you. Again using the new Elizabeth Craft Designs product I received last week. This time it´s the alphas.

I had been playing with Distress Inks and Stains on a piece of white paper a while ago and chose to use that piece for an artist trading card background. I then added the stamping. I simply inked the whole stamp set with black ink, while it was still attached to it´s original packaging. This way I had a random alpha pattern on the background.

Then just a few elements, like burlap, twine, a brad and a flower as a centerpiece and for finishing touches some Nuvo Vintage Drops in white. I love the white! Goes with EVERYTHING! I call this card „Alpha Flower“ :-D.

I am totally liking the new Art Journal line at Elizabeth Craft Designs. So stay tuned for more artwork with that. I might need to go shopping for some more *looks innocently into the sky* :).

Happy card

Hello and happy Friday! I´m sharing another quick card today with you that resulted from a Tim Holtz FB live in combination with some leftover pieces from previously shared (here) ATCs.

I used the ATC leftover strips on this card (the die cut circles) and inked the background with a Distress Stain in yellow. Then I added some ink splatters in green und golden Distress Stain splatters. The flowers are from my old stash and the sentiment was created for me by a dear friend – thanks Lizzy!

I really like using these circles and having so much fun creating these circle cards :). I hope I could inspire you to create crazy backgrounds and cut them into smaller pieces to use them on various projects!

Father´s Day cards

Hello everyone and happy Monday! Today I´m stopping by to share a set of Father´s Day cards. I created these cards from a piece I had been testing various Distress Crayon ideas onto.

I have layers of Distress Crayon added onto a big piece of paper. I was basically testing the ideas Tim Holtz had been sharing on his FB lives onto this particular piece of paper. In the end I had a big piece of bold colours and layers and I didn´t know what to use it for first.

Then I figured I could die cut the piece into smaller circles and use them to create fun cards. I have quite a few and today I´m starting sharing them with the first two. The fun thing is that they all have same techniques on them, but due to the big surface I was working on, every single one has different colours and patterns on them. So in a way, each is a very unique one.

And since the circle centerpiece is very bold on it´s own, I left everything else very clean and simple.

That´s it for today! Do come back this week to see more cards created this way. Happy crafting,
