Cute Baby Cards

Hello everyone and happy Sunday! Today I´m sharing a set of baby cards with you. In between of creating for my design team assignments, I also try to sneek in some stash busting projects and this is one of them.

See, on this card set I´ve used quite old pre-dry-embossed card bases from my older stash. I wanted to make them look a little bit more colorful so I inked the dry-embossed areas with Distress Inks in blue, pink and yellow tones and then started rreating the cards from there.

I then added a ribbon bow onto each card – I have so much ribbon stored in my studio! You really have no idea.. So cards are a good way to bust that pile a bit.

This card had a pink organza ribbon going across the card. On top of that I added a polka dotted paper (available at Elizabeth Craft Designs – see product links at the end of this post) and a stamped Stampin´ Up banner sentiment. I inked the sentiment in the same Disttress Ink tone that I used for the background. The little monster/creature in the middle of the card is a stamp by Starving Artistamps. They have the cutest creature stamps!! I bought those stamps years ago and still love using them!

The image is colored with a water tank brush and Tonic Studios Nuvo Watercolour Pencils. I also added googly eyes to the image for a fun detail. And the tiny heart, well it´s a negative piece/leftover from this card. I saved them and am now using them everywhere :). Talk about recycling leftover pieces!!

And on the yellow card I did the same steps, except the paper on the background is by Magnolia and I used another Stampin´ Up sentiment and an old Close To My Heart giraffe for stamping.

The blue card is the same, like the pink one, just in blue tones.

That´s it for today. I hope you enjoyed this stash busting project. There is still so much stash to be busted 😉 that I will probably need to make these a regular posting theme here on the blog..

Happy crafting,

Sweet Baby – Tonic Studios

Hello everyone and happy Thursday! Today I´m stopping by to share a baby card in green tones.

For this card I used the Tonic Studios Garden Gate Layering Die Set with some papers from my older stash. I chose a selection of different green tones, an organza ribbon and some Stampin´ Up! stamps as well as chipboard baby shoes by Wycinanka. For decoration I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze with Nuvo Crystal Could Circles Pure Sheen Confetti and Bottle Green Nuvo Crystal Drops.

For die cutting I used the Garden Gate die cut dies and cut them both from green and white paper and layered them on top of each other.

It was fun to create a monochromatic card for a change and this was just warming up – be sure to come back tomorrow for another fun “welcome baby”-themed card! See you then!

Hints of Spring Vol 2. – Mixed Media Card Challenge

Hello there, time to bring you some additional inspiration to the March Mixed Media Card Challenge :)! This months theme is Spring and the optional element this time is a bird.

And here are some additional cards I created based on this months theme:

On the above card I´ve used some paper leftovers from the Teresa Collins “Save the Date” collection kit. In addition I´ve punched out some butterflies, again using a purple sprayed leftover paper piece. I then added some yarn in matching colours and outlined the butterflies with a white pen. A pearl in the middle is for additional interest and the little puffy sticker (by Evalicious) is my sentiment.

This is a very clean&simple card, but I like how it turned out and I again got some stash busted too :).

My next card is very different to what I usually make, but I took out some older (as in: I´ve had them for a looong time :)!!) Hero Arts stamps and stamped the brach, fussy cut it (yes I did – and it´s very thin!!), coloured the leaves with a green marker and glued it down on the dry embossed piece. The clouds pattern comes from a Stampin´ Up! dry embossing folder – I just love it! I´ve also inked the clouds with a blue Distress Ink afterwards to give the sky more interest. Next I took a leftover piece (when I make mixed media stuff, I always save the colorful, random leftover pieces for such purposes as these!) of watercolor paper, stamped the birdies on it various times to get different coloured wings and bodies and then did some paper piecing and glued everything on their places. The wood veneer heart is covered with glitter glue and inside I´ve applied some Glossy Accents and poured some micro beads into the empty space.

Quite a lot of work for such a simple looking card, come to think of it ;-). By the way, the sentiment says: You are staggering!

So this was my take – now it´s your turn! Excited to see what you will make out of this challenge! See you at MMCC,
