I is for Ink – SoSS challenge blog challenge #229

Hello and happy Saturday! Today I have the honour of joining the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers as a guest member, aka “Queen Sanna” for their challenge “I is for Ink“. Sounds like a lot of fun, right?

I went full on with the ink theme and here is my card:

I first inked a piece of white paper with Distress Oxide INKS (fossilized amber, saltwater taffy and abandoned coral), then I added a geometrical stamping on top (using Distress Oxide candied apple) and after that I stamped the lady with black stamp ink on top. She is from the Dina Wakley Media “Thoughtful Women” stamp set.

After that all I needed was a snarky sentiment to go with the lady. And for that purpose I used the Dylusions “Ugh!!People!!” stamp set. But before stamping the sentiment I inked the white paper with “saltwater taffy” and then stamped with black ink on top. Some fussy cutting and assembling followed (+ some black Neocolor 2 crayon splatters) and the card was done.

I sure had such a great time creating this card and it was a pleasure to be on the “Queen Team”. I hope I could inspire you to play along and join this fun challenge!!! Get your inks out and play & join the challenge OVER HERE. Hope to see you over at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!

Happy inking!!!

DAP-journal – July 6th, 2022

Hello and happy Wednesday! Here is another Daily Art Practice Journal page share:

On the left you can see the original Almanac page. On the right is my take on it. I used similar colours in papers and cut holes into the paper and had some Neocolor added underneath. Also some gold Posca marker and a Klartext stamp for pattern was used on this one. The colors are to my liking here. It´ s also very cool to discover new ideas thru these Almanac pages. Like the holes. Just so simple, but I just have never used them on my work so far. Adds really nice texture.

Hope your week has been nice so far!
Take care,
xxx, Sanna

DIY “Vintage” Labels – Dani Peuss

Hello lovelies and welcome back! Today I am sharing a quick idea I recently had when I organized my Klartext stamps. I am sure, other peeps have had this idea at some point too, and it might not be that “new”, but since I was so excited about it, I am going to share it here for you to enjoy too:

You will need a label stamp set, like this one and red, black/blue, brown stamp inks from your stash. You could take a kraft cardstock or if you prefer the labels in lighter tone white/cream/vanilla toned cardstock.

And here is how to make them (it is a no-brainer, but I still wanted to share, because I was excited about it):

Pretty easy, right? If you want to make the labels look more used, just grab a brown toned Distress Ink of your preferance and add some ink with a blending tool here and there to create a more “used” look.

Hope you like the idea! See you soon again,

Mir Dir – Dani Peuss

Hello and happy Friday! Today I am stopping by to share another layout with you. This one is created with the Dani Peuss September 2022 Main Kit and September Klartext stamp (plus a few other stamps from Klartext).

The title of this layout translates to: “with you”. I wanted to scrap a few recent everyday photos, because life also happens in the ordinary, not just on vacation. And I found these photos very scrap worthy :).

I used following Klartext stamps on this layout: 2209 – Die Welt entdecken, 5026 – collage|fotografie, 5034 – Mia. When stamping, I used different stamp ink tones to stamp onto the background (Hero Arts Wet Cement & Soft Granite, Versafine Nocturne and Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber).

On the backgound I have used a Dani Peuss paper with Simple Stories Let´ s Go! Collection papers on top. The embellishments are from the same Simple Stories series, but the stickers I added to the very bottom are from my Sticker Surprise Pack from Dani Peuss (see video about that here) and Teresa Collins Favorites Sticker Set.

In addition I also added some yellow splatters (Dina Wakley Gloss Spray – lemon) to the page. Something I love to do :). And I like yellow, so there´ s that :).

The layout itself is about my life with hubs. The second photo is posed, by the way. He really did not suffer that much when going shopping with me. He actually did that voluntarily :). He just needs a little preparing time to adjust to the thought and when he gets that, everything works out fine :). And to the first photo; he actually said that moment: “Show me how to bake a cake, so I can make one for you some day”. Thus, very scrap worthy photos and events :).

I hope you enjoyed today´ s layout share and if you got inspired, hop over to the Dani Peuss store for lovely kits and stamps.

See you soon, have a great weekend!

Jingle all the way

Hello and happy Saturday! Today I have been up very early to help my hubby with the construction site and getting the garden ready for winter. There is progress, so it´ s been a good day. And due to my crazy studio clean-up, I used up some leftover bits and this is one of the cards that resulted from the clean-up:

Now I did a video (back in 2013!!!) on how I created this background (and a few more with ink daubers) and can you imagine I found this piece 8 years later and now it found a perfect spot on a Christmas card :). The only thing I needed to do was to add some Nuvo Glitter Drops and a Elizabeth Craft Designs sentiment with black ink and the card was done! Here is the video from back then:

Such a fun card for this years holiday season! I might make a few more with other colours too. And flat to put in the mail too!

I hope you enjoyed today´ s creative share. See you soon again!
