Slimline 18th birthday card idea

Hello everyone! Today´s share is another slimline 18th birthday card for a boy.

I used a Close to my Heart number stamp set for the background. I arranged the 1 and the 8 next to each other and stamped the white slimline card background with the numbers. I used Distress Oxide inks in light blue and grey hues repeatedly on the surface.

Now that the background was done I only wante dto add a few colorful details to the card. I chose some stickers from my stash. I first adhered the stickers (American Crafts and Sassafrass) onto a piece of carstock and then fussy cut them. This way I could adhere them to the base using 3D-foam. That added some depth and interest to the card. I also used some puffy stickers (stars) here and there and also added some Gloss Spray in lime and dark blue for splatters.

Hope the recipient likes his card – I sure had fun making it!

60th birthday card idea with a playing card

Hello there! Today I´m sharing a birthday card idea in a square format for a 60th birthday.

The card was supposed not to be all flowers, pink and cute for this recipient, so I went into a totally different direction with this one. The format is a square for a change and the colors and hues of blues.

I chose a playing card as my focal point for this card with the hidden meaning of a “birthday queen”. I framed the playing card with a chipboard sticker frame that fit the card size perfectly. I also inked it with light blue and brown Distress Oxide inks to add some patina to the frame.

I had some round glitter dot stickers in my stash, so I added a few to the frame. A while ago I had played with a misted tissue paper and heat embossed stamp images. I took the leaf images and added them as a cluster to the left bottom corner of the frame. On top some clear sticker words from Studio Forty to add to the theme and a chipboard 6 and 0 very prominent on the bottom corner for finish off the card.

I hope the “birthday queen” is happy with her special card!!

Birthday card for 18th birthday

Hello there! Today´s share is a slimline birthday card for a boy´s 18th birthday. I´ve mainly used rubber stamps by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous on this card (set called “At the Movies”).

I used Hero Arts shadow ink pads in various tones of brown and the “At the Movies” stamp set for the background. Next I stamped the numbers 1 and 8 with blue Hero Arts shadow ink onto kraft cardstock and fussy cut the numbers. The stamp set is by Close to my Heart and from my older stash.

For additional decor I added a sticker speaking bubble that says “make memories” and fussy cut some blue and white toned stars from a Canvas Corp. paper. Everything is very “vintege-y” and not too cute.

60th birthday slimline card

Hello everyone! Today I´m stopping by to share another birthday card with you. This time for a 60th birthday celebration.

I used different little paper strips on the slimline card base. Adhered those on place and then added some thread in yellow and orange.

After that I die cut plenty of butterflies from a misted piece of paper. I misted it orange first. After die cutting, I arranged the butterflies to fly along the threads (this way the thread stays on place). Next I added some tiny paper flowers and half pearls. I also decorated the butterflies with half pearls for more interest and texture. Next I added some golden pigment splatters here and there.

For finishing touches I stamped happy birthday wishes in german (by Rubber Dance) and adhered “60” in blue Thickers to the card.

Layered 60th birthday card

Hello and happy Saturday! Here is a slimline card I created for a 60th birthday.

I´ve used patterned paper from my older stash with some older white rub-ons (still work fine!) from my stash. I then added a yellow die cut patterned paper tag onto the base. After that I added two fabric flowers and a chipboard ephemera as a centerpiece. I decorated it with several paper flowers, some half pearl swirls and a chipboard birdie. The card sentiment is stamped with a happy birthday sentiment by Rubber Dance (this set) and tiny golden sticker numbers.

I love the flower patterned paper on the background and have been saving it in my stash for years now :). I found that this was the perfect space to use it. Pink and yellow also make for a great color combination for a summer birthday, in my opinion.

50th birthday card

Hello everyone! This time I´m sharing a birthday card I created for my work colleague. She turned 50 a while back and I needed a special card for her. It´s also bigger in size, than my usual cards (approximately A5).

I used Rubber Dance stamps on the background stamping with plenty of patterned paper strips in rainbow colors. On top of that I have a Tim Holtz paper doll, holding a lollipop and onto that I added the chipboard number “0”. Next to it the “5”.

So it gives the impression she is holding a 50 sign in her hand. In addition to that I added a somewhat snarky sentiment that says: “50 is no reason to get (or feel) old, all the best for your birthday”.

I also added Gloss Spray splatter in white and green. It´s a colorful and happy card and I find it very suitable for the recipient. I do hope she likes it!
