Layered 60th birthday card

Hello and happy Saturday! Here is a slimline card I created for a 60th birthday.

I´ve used patterned paper from my older stash with some older white rub-ons (still work fine!) from my stash. I then added a yellow die cut patterned paper tag onto the base. After that I added two fabric flowers and a chipboard ephemera as a centerpiece. I decorated it with several paper flowers, some half pearl swirls and a chipboard birdie. The card sentiment is stamped with a happy birthday sentiment by Rubber Dance (this set) and tiny golden sticker numbers.

I love the flower patterned paper on the background and have been saving it in my stash for years now :). I found that this was the perfect space to use it. Pink and yellow also make for a great color combination for a summer birthday, in my opinion.

Collage fodder cards with stenciling

Hello everyone! Today I´m sharing a set of two cards, created using Rubber Dance products:: Organic #2, Sketchy Flowers #3, Scribbles #1, Mix It Up 6, Kartengrüße, Butterflies and Moths as well as Sketchy Leaves 5.

I started off with collage papers I had made using the Cross It stencil with my gelli plate and acrylic paints. I first cut the paper into a size to fit the card bases. After that I took Distress Oxide Inks in two grey tones as well as a turquoise tone and applied ink thru the Scribbles and Organic stencil patterns onto the collage papers. I didn´t fill the whole paper with these patterns, instead I applied bits here and there. That way the original pattern also still shows thru.

Next I stamped with grey VersaFine ink and the Mix It Up 6 text stamp some patterns to both pieces of paper. I then took the number stamp from the same set and stamped with dark brown ink (also VersaFine ink) next to the previous stamped areas. As the next layer I took the Sketchy Flowers #3 stamp set and stamped only the tiny leaf images with black stamp ink – again next to the previously stamped areas.

My next layer on the background was Gloss Spray droplets in “lemon” and “blushing”. At this point I let the paper dry a while until adding the focal point elements.

As a focal point I used some collage fodder I had made with the Sketchy Leaves 5 stencil from gelli printed collage papers (see video here). I also added some butterflies (Butterflies and Moths set) that I had created the same way. Finally I stamped a sentiment for each card using the Kartengrüße stamp set. I stamped on white paper first and then wiped light blue ink onto the paper to have a matching color with the card backgrounds.

I also recorded a step-by-step video – hope it inspires you!

I like creating this type of layered cards – what about you? I hope this inspires you to play with your Rubber Dance products!!

60th birthday card idea

Hello and happy Sunday! Here is a slimline card I created for a 60th birthday.

I´ve used patterned paper from my older stash with some lace ribbon and a chipboard border image from back in the day. Also added as a centerpiece is a paper flower in bright red and a ephemera piece to adhere the Thickers foam number onto. I´ve outlined the card with a white gel pen and finished the card off with a happy birthday sentiment by Rubber Dance (this set).

Also, on the close-up photos you can see some tiny white flowers here and there on the background. They are older rub-ons from my stash and I have added some half pearls into the middle for some extra texture.

I like how this turned out! Hope you get inspired!

Mixed media birthday card – Rubber Dance

Hello everyone! It´s Sanna here today with another birthday card share. For this card I´ve used Marks 3 and Rainbows 2 stencils with Butterflies and Moths, Kartengrüße and Stitching Borders stamps.

I started off with 3 different papers – some of them were gelli printed collage papers and others had texture paste stenciling on them. I adhered them onto the slimline card base and started adding Distress Paints in “spun sugar” and “antique linen” here and there. After the paint layers had dried, I placed the Rainbows 2 stencil onto the paper and added some Distress Oxide Inks thru the stencil onto the background. I used greys, browns and light greens here. I also added some black and pink ink splatters to the background as well as some Posca pen marks in bright pink.

After that I stamped outlining with the Stitching Borders stamp set and a line into the middle with black ink. Then I took some collage butterflies I had made previously and adhered those to the card as a centerpiece. I added some white gel pen details to them and finished the card off with a stamped birthday wish.

Who else is in love with the butterfly stamps? I could add them to almost every project I make.

Leaf and tree collage fodder cards with Brusho´s – Rubber Dance

Hello, today I am sharing a video and a set of cards. For these cards I´ve used the Xmas Trees 2, Sketchy Leaves 7 and Sketchy Leaves 5 stencils as well as Kartengrüße and Mix A Sentiment 2023 stamp sets.

I started with a watercolor paper and places the stencil onto it. Next I misted the leaf and tree areas of the stencils with a water spray bottle. After that I removed the stencils from the paper and dabbed some Brusho powders onto the wet areas. The color particles immediately start to spread on the wet areas and create interesting looking leaf patterns.

I let the water dry on it´s own and after all the areas were completely dry, I dabbed any residue powder off the paper and fussy cut the leaves. I mixed various colors together to create interesting looking images.

After finishing the Brusho collage fodder, I used the Mix A Sentiment 2023 stamp set to stamp a background pattern to white card bases. I used grey, brown and blue ink tones for stamping. Then I added some golden pigment droplets here and there and added the fodder leaf as a focal point. I finished the cards with a stamped sentiment in the same color like the text on the background.

Here is a video of the steps for you to watch:

I have been wanting to try this technique out fo a while and I must say,
it´s a lot of fun to watch the powders create depth and lightness to the leaves on their own. Not a single leaf turns out the same.

Cards with bold backgrounds – Rubber Dance

Hello, today I have a card set share up that feature very bold backgrounds. They don´t need much on top as they really stand out on their own. For these cards I used the Loose Florals 2024 and the Doodle Flowers 2 stamp sets as well as the Kartengrüße set for stamped sentiments.

The background papers are from a gelli printing session where I made my own collage papers using strong colors and the Loose Florals 2024 stamp set. For this set I wripped the paper on one side to create an irregular border and adhered the paper onto a card base. On top I added something light – a lightly inked collage fodder flower in pink. To go with it, I added a few enamel hearts and a stamped sentiment along the cards edge.

On the second set I have a even more distressed look going on on the background. Thus I left the backgorunds full and didn´t wrip the paper. I love the peeled paint look of the paper. It makes it seem like vintage wallpaper in layers. For these cards I again used the same principle. A bold background paper paired with a single flower as a focal point.

Here I added some faux stitching around the edges with a white gel pen. Some glitter glue for detail onto the flowers and a stamped sentiment on a residue piece that has the same tone like some areas on the background piece.

And all these cards are flat and thus very easy to put into mail. Who else loves creating collage papers with stamps and a gelli plate?

Working with residue papers – Rubber Dance

Hello, today I´m sharing a card idea that started off from a piece of “waste” paper. I used the Doodle Flowers 2 and the Stitching Borders stamp sets with the Ornament 1 stencil to create this card.

I´ve also “hidden” some light stamping with Distress Oxide Inks and Mix It Up 7 and Mix It Up 5 stamp sets onto the background. This card started with a “waste paper” I brayered gelli printing residue ink onto. I also cleaned my used stencil with a baby wipe thru the Ornament 1 stencil onto this piece of paper. That way the beginning for this backgroud had started by accident in a way.

After cleaning my table I noticed how nice the paper looked like and decided to use it as a card background. I then went and used the Mix It Up 5 stamp set iwth various light Distress Oxide Ink colours to add details to the white areas. After that I grabbed some collage fodder flowers from my stash, added one to the card as a focal point and stamped the sentiment with Kartengrüße stamp set. For finishing touches I added the faux stitching with black ink and some glitter glue to the flower for detail.

I love to use this type of papers as a starting point and give them a new life as a card background, for example. I think this one turned out pretty nice. Have you tried this idea?

Rubber Dance – stamped mixed media birthday cards

Hello, it´s my turn to share a project over at Rubber Dance today. I am up with a set of cards, created using some of the new Rubber Dance stamps. For this card set I used the: Collage Leaves 3, Stitching Borders and Kartengrüße stamp sets. My starting point was a previously made, gelli printed collage paper. For that I had used the Sketchy Leaves 5 stencil.

I started by cutting the previously made collage paper (gelli print with Sketchy Leaves 5 stencil) in two halves. After that I took an additional residue collage paper piece and stamped with black ink and Collage Leaves 3 onto it. Next I fussy cut the images.

After that I arranged a German birthday sentiment onto an acrylic block and stamped with orange and green Distress Oxide inks onto the background collage paper. Then I added some golden pigment splatters to the backgrounds. Next I took the fussy cut leaves and adhered them onto the card bases. For finishing touches I added a stamped birthday sentiment in black and some stitching around the edges with brown Distress Oxide Ink.

Here is the process video for you to watch:

I hope you get inspired and create fun, stamped cards with the new Rubber Dance stamps!

Clean and simple collage paper Christmas cards – Rubber Dance

Hello, I am up over at the Rubber Dance blog again today with another clean and simple card Christmas card share. For these cards I used some gelli printed collage papers, the Xmas Trees 2 stencil and the Kartengrüße stamp set. For the collage paper I had used the Textured Xmas Trees 2 and the Mix It Up 4 stamp set.

I basically combined the ideas from my previously shared Christmas cards here. I die cut the collage paper with the Textured Xmas Trees 2 pattern on it with circle die cut dies. And the Mix It Up 4 set circle stamp patterned paper is traced thru the Xmas Trees 2 stencil and then fussy cut. I then adhered both pieces to a white card base, added a sentiment stamp with the Kartengrüße stamp set and some golden pigment droplets here and there.

For the second card I basically did the same, except the stamped sentiment is on the card base, not on the collage paper. Also the golden pigment droplets are on the collage paper and the stamped stars are colored with the same golden color. For stamping those I used the Textured Xmas Trees 2 stamp set.

Here is one more bonus card, for which I just added some stenciling with the Ornament 1 stencil as a background and arranged some collage paper trees on top. I had some left over and didn´t want them to go to waste.

Have fun creating some of your own!!

Clean and simple Christmas bauble cards with Distress Oxide Inks

Hello, I am up over at the Rubber Dance blog today with a clean and simple card idea. I used the Ornament 1 stencil and the Kartengrüße stamp set to make these cards.

I started by inking a piece of white cardstock with “kitsch flamingo” Distress Oxide ink. next I placed the Ornament 1 stencil on top of the inked paper and applied a darker red tone, “candied apple”, thru the stencil onto paper.

After that I die cut the paper into two different sized circles. I then inked the edges with the darker red toned ink and added some golden dots with a water brush onto them.

Then I just drew some strings for the baubles to hang onto the card base and adhered the circles on place. After that I stamped a sentiment with black ink onto the cards using the Kartengrüße stamp set.

I also added some golden droplets to the card bases for additional interest in the end just for fun. Here are the finished cards:

I hope you enjoy this card idea and make some Christmas bauble cards yourself.
