Full Deck Challenge 28/2025 – black

Hello, here is my take on the 28th ShanoukiArt Full Deck Challenge. The theme was “black”.

I used a light pink paper strip (very right) as my carry over item from the previous deck card. The sticker alphas on that strip are also from the same set like the numbers in my previous card. So also carry over things :).

I then added a black and white paper with flowers and a plain black paper to the backgroun. My constant is a date stamp. On top I drew some ovals with a white gel pen using the Rubber Dance Stacked Ovals stencil as a drawing guide. On top of that I as butterfly (Rubber Dance Butterflies and Moths) stamped onto a book page. For decor I added some rhinestones and Rubber Dance Mix A Sentiment 2023 stamped words.

Watercolor style stamped collage fodder card with Distress Inks – Rubber Dance

Hello, it´s my turn to share another creative project over at the Rubber Dance blog today. I am up with a simple, but fun to make card idea. I used Autumn Leaves and Mini Marks 1 for this card project with plenty of Distress Ink tones.

I started the card project by playing with Distress Inks and the Autumn Leaves stamp set. I wanted to create “watercolor styled” collage fodder with the leaves. So I stamped with various fall toned Distress Inks onto the stamp images, misted them lightly and stamped onto a mixed media paper.

After fussy cutting the images, I took the “Mini Marks 1” stencil, places it onto a card base and added two tones of Distress Ink with a blending brush thru it onto the background. Next I just needed to adhere a row of leaves on top of the stenciled pattern as a focal point and add a sticker sentiment (or use the Mix A Sentiment 2023 stamp set to make a sentiment) and some rhinestones for decor. The card itself was done in no time, it´s the fodder creating that takes some time. Thus, I suggest, when you start, make plenty at once.

Here are the videos on how to make the collage fodder and about the card process. Hope you get inspired!

I know it´s still summer, but for those, who cannot wait for fall to come. Here is some fall themed card inspiration. Happy crafting!

Cards with fodder clusters and oval backgrounds – Rubber Dance

Hello, it´s my turn to share a project over at Rubber Dance blog today. I love the Rubber Dance ovals stencil line! So I played around with them (Big Ovals and Stacked Ovals) and created fun oval background cards with a big collage fodder cluster as a focal point.

For the bright colored card I used a gelli print created earlier this year. It creates a beautiful, happy and bright backdrop for the cluster of flowers, leaves and butterflies. I also added some rhinstones and a fussy cut sentiment to the card for finishing touches.

I always create collage fodder in bulk, so that I have plenty of options to add to my cards and other projects along the way. The tutorials to these fodder pieces can be found here, here and here.

For the second card in more muted colors. I used the new Stacked Ovals stencil directly on the background with “scattered straw” Distress Ink.

I again attached the stencil to the card and my working surface with washi tape. You can also use painters tape. This way the stencil will stay put while applying ink. I like washi, because it´s very easy and safe to remove afterwords – nothing tears while removing it.

For this cluster I again used collage fodder I had previously made in bulk. Except for the old book paper circle. That I created using the Butterflies and Moths stamp set and black ink just for this card. It adds a nice vintage feel to the cluster.

I really like using stencils on my cards. They can add so much to a project. Just imagine these fodder clusters without the backgrounds.

Hope you get inspired!

Full Deck Challenge 25/2025 – 2 favourite colours

Hello! Here is my take on the Full Deck Challenge number 25/2025: two favourite colours. I used yellows and greens which happen to be my fave colours.

I used patterned papers on the background (from my older stash). Then added some washi tapes in the same colours on top. I also sneaked in a tiny blue paper stripe (a carry over item from my last deck card).

After that I added some Rubber Dance stamp images with black ink and my constant, a date stamp. I chose a green butterfly as a focal point (also Rubber Dance stamps) and finished everything with yellow and green Gloss Spray droplets and a stamped sentiment.

See you again next week with another deck card take! Happy crafting,

Full Deck Challenge 19/2025 – paper weaving

Hello and happy Friday! Here is my take on the ShanoukiArt 2025 Full Deck Challenge number 19: paper weaving.

I used Yuna´s collage papers on the background. Cut into very thin strips. After that I adhered the ends of the horizontal strips to a piece of cardstock (to hold them on place for easier weaving). Then added the vertical parts and when the piece was done, adhered it onto the deck card.

On top of that I added a collage fodder leaf (Rubber Dance). This is also a carry over item from my last deck card. My constant is a date stamp and I added those randomly onto the weaved areas. As a focal point, I decorated the deck card with a black and white stamped flower (Rubber Dance) and a stamped word. The flower has some Stickles on it for additional sparkle.

Hope you enjoy this deck card – I will be sharing the next one next week. See you then!

Art journal page with Distress Inks and Rubber Dance stamps & stencils

Hello everyone, here is a little share from when I was randomly playing in my art journal with recently made collage fodder pieces and Rubber Dance stamps and stencils.

I started with Distress Ink tones “ripe persimmon”, “picked raspberry”, “mustard seed” and “vintage photo”. I first applied the pink, yellow and orange tones with a misted gelli plate onto the background and created the random color areas. Next I pressed some “vintage photo” onto “Dotted 1” and “Marks 3” stencils, misted them and pressed the inked areas directly onto the paper. This created a hint of a pattern.

Next I used the “Pencil Marks 8” stamp set to create the oval shapes onto the page using black stamp ink. After that I grabbed some premade collage fodder pieces (leaves and butterflies) and adhered them to the page. After that I added some turquoise ink splatters (Dina Wakley Gloss Spray). For finishing touches I created a sentiment with stamped words (Mix a Sentiment 2023) and some stickers from my stash.

I had a fun time playing in my art journal. Hope you enjoyed watching the process!

Full Deck Challenge 12/2025 – holes and drippy paint

Hello and happy Wednesday! Here is my take on the ShanoukiArt “Full Deck Challenge” number 12: “holes and drippy paint”.

I love how this turned out! I started off with collage papers gifted to me by Yuna. Then I added some Dina Wakley heavy body paint in light pink into the open areas. On top of that I added some small bits of gelli printed paper leftover to which I made holes with my Drop-A-Dile.

After adhering the papers with holes onto the background, I added Gloss Spray (in pink and blue) drippings. Next I added my constant (the date stamp) and after that I decorated the deck card with some Rubber Dance fodder and hand drawn flowers. The leaves are from the set “Pencil Marks 8” and the flowers are from my last years “the100daychallenge” project. For finishing touches I added again some stamped words (Rubber Dance stamp). I love how this deck card turned out!!!

Full Deck Challenge 2025 / 4 (light green)

Hello and happy Sunday! Here is my take on the Full Deck Challenge with deck card 4. Theme for this one is “light green”.

I used a sheet of the Artist Almanac 2023 on the background with Rubber Dance stamp set “Pencil Marks 8”. I also again added a collage paper piece gifted to me by Yuna. My constant here again is a date stamp.

In addition to those products, I added a label sticker, some 49andMarket fabrick tape bits, a light green washi tape and a fussy cut image of a man. I finished the piece off with the word “live”. Also something I have added to each deck card so far (stamped with Rubber Dance stamps).

Mixed media tag set – Rubber Dance

Hello everyone, I am up over at Rubber Dance blog today with a tag set featuring gelli printed fodder elements. For these tags I used the Butterflies and Moths, Mix A Sentiment 2023 and Loose Florals 2024 stamp sets.

Here is how I created the tags:

I first started by stamping brown Distress Oxide Ink with the Mix A Sentiment 2023 stamp set onto the kraft tags. Next I took black stamp ink and the leaves from the Loose Florals 2024 stamp set and stamped black leaf images onto the tags.

Then I colored the leaf images with glitter brush pens and added some gelli printed strips to the bottom of the tags with some old book page pieces. For the gelli print piece I used the same Loose Florals 2024 stamp set.

After that I added some white gel pen circles to the background for interest and adhered some butterfly fodder and ribbon to the tags.

For finishing touches I added some liquid pearls to the butterflies and attached sticker sentiments to each tag.

Here is also a quick step-by-step to how the butterfly fodder was done:

First create a colorful gelli print. I used three tones of paint and “drew” random scribbles to the paint. Next I stamped “Butterflies and Moths 2024” with black stamp ink onto the gelli print. After that I fussy cut all the images. This way I have plenty of fodder ready for my next projects.

Creating the fodder and tags was so much fun. I hope you give it a try! While at it, make sure to try out different color combinations and patterns. This way you have plenty of material to work with for future projects.

Happy crafting,
Sanna

Vintage-style Art Journal page – Rubber Dance

Hello and Happy New Year! It´s Sanna here with a “vintage”-style art journal page share today. For this page I used the Mix It Up 5 stamp set and the Sketchy Leaves 5 stencil with plenty of different Distress Oxide Ink tones.

For the background I used the tones “wilted violet”, “fossilized amber”, “iced spruce” and “aged mahagony”. I applied the color onto a acrylic block, then misted it with water mist and pressed the block onto the paper. After that I took the Mix It Up 5 stamp set and added inked and misted stamp images in a row to the background.

Next I took the Marks 3 stencil and wiped some “aged mahagony” thru it onto the background. For the circle stamp image from the Mix It Up 5 stamp set I used “iced spruce”. Then I took a gelli printed Sketchy Leaves 5 leaf image and adhered it onto the page. For the journaling I built my own sentiment with the Mix A Sentiment 2023 stamp set. And for finishing touches I added a Tim Holtz paper doll for decor.

Here is a full step-by-step video from start to finish:

I hope you enjoy watching the video and get inspired to play with your Rubber Dance stamps and stencils in your own art journal! Have fun!!
