January Stencil Challenge Reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and happy Friday! Have you played along with the STAMPlorations January Stencil Challenge yet? No? Don´t worry – there is still enough time to join in. So speaking of joining in, the DT girls have prepared another inspiration post for you guys.

Here is my take for it:

The background was created using Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays. I love the effect they create!!! Love, love, love it! And on top I´ve added some stenciled pattern with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. I used one of my new stencils, called Abstract April Showers. And on top for decor I added one of Tim Holtz paper dolls and a handwritten sentiment, made by my dear friend Lizzy.

This is the reminder post for the January 2021 stencil challenge and if you haven´t joined in with us yet, I sure hope you do. There is still plenty of time to play along with us. Let´s make this a great year project wise and get those PHD´s (projects half done) done and dusted. And if it has stenciling on it, you are good to go and submit it to this challenge :)!

Remember to play by the rules (listed at the end of the challenge post) to be eligible for the prizes!!! And other than that, have fun creating!!! Cannot wait to see what you make! Also, feel free to take advantage of my personal discount code at STAMPLorations:

Happy stenciling,

Keep taking chances Art Journal page

Hello and happy Sunday!!! Today I´m stopping by to share another art journal page with you. I´ve used some of my stencil designs on this one. I wonder if you can guess which ones?

I´m again working in my Ranger Inc. art journal that has various types of pages in it. I love these kraft pages! It´s so much fun creating on them. For this page I´ve used Dina Wakley Media paints, washi, scribble sticks and her stamps. Oh, and fussy cut bits from her Collage Collective book.

Now can you see what stencils I used? It´s the Amaranth and the Art Flowers 2 stencil, both used for „negative print making“ with acrylic paints. I´ve only used parts and I love the images they create! Definitely going to do this more often!! Other than that, it Scribble Sticks, Dina´s paints added in various ways and some older neon spray inks.

January feels like it´s going to be mainly art journaling and mixed media related :). BUT if you come here tomorrow, you might be in for a scrapbook layout :).

Just a little heads up, if you are interested in my stencil designs at STAMPlorations – here is a discount code for you at their store:

Hope your weekend was nice! Wishing you a good start into the new week!

One Little Word 2021

Hello and happy Saturday!!! I have been thinking about my word for 2021 for a while now and it was not as an easy choice as last year! I´ve been thinking about the perfect word to carry me through 2021, but I just couldn´t put my finger on one single word and say: „that´s it!“. So I´ve chosen three words for 2021 to guide me through the year.

Here is a page desplaying my chosen words:

So the words I chose are: dedication, growth and strength. I plan to carry these words in my mind and heart throughout the year and hope to reach the goals I´ve set myself.

This word should guide me in all areas of life through this year. Whatever I decide to do, I´ll do it with commitment. Whether it´s sports, work, crafting, family life, me or anything else.

Growth on the other hand is growth as a person, on a mental level and development in all areas. Again whether it´s work, sports, my art or me in general.

And last but not least, my third word: strength. This brings all the previous words together and connects them to a stronger bond. Here, I also want to develop my strengths – whether it´s sports, arts, work or any other areas of my life. I will need strength to carry on and to remind me that I want to be dedicated and grow and develop.

For creating this page I used plenty of various media. Stencils are from my stencil line at STAMPlorations, Dina Wakley paints were added and Dylusions sprays were used. The stamps are also by STAMPlorations and I´ve also added some tissue here and there, gifted to me by a lovely ATC swapping partner from all the way in Australia. I´ve also got some Tonic Studios Crackle Paste on the page as well as Posca pens. And some date stamping to record the date.

I also felt the urge to use bold, strong colours again for a change. It´s been a while I´ve used them and at the moment I just cannot get enough of them.

Last year my word was self-care and little did I know how well it fit the year 2020, when I chose it. It honestly scared me a little how well the word matched the year, so that is also why I´m putting extra thought to this years word(s). As I am asking the universe for these things, I might as well do it with my whole heart. Fully committed. I am a little fearfull (which should be a good thing, right?) of putting the words out there and hope that at the end of the year I´ll be happy I chose these words.

I hope you enjoy my art journal page share today! Wishing you all a lovely start into 2021! Have a great weekend!!

January Stencil Challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello and happy 2021!!! I think the most of us are happy to see 2020 go, right? Let´s celebrate that with a brand new STAMPlorations January Stencil Challenge, shall we?

My card matches the mood – A celebration card for saying my goodbyes to 2020… ;-). Even our Christmas tree got the pandemic mood as it started dropping it´s needles on 24th already. Never have had that happen ever before! And our gingerbread house also fell apart on it´s own during the holidays. Never hat that happened ever before. 2020 has been a horrible year. I am glad it´s done now. Here´s to hoping that 2021 will be a better one!!! We are on lockdown (3rd one already) while I write this, so the start is not any different, but hopefully the vaccination will do the trick and we can retourn to a more normal life at some point.

For this card I used the new, modified „Rag Rug“ stencil. It´s slightly bigger than the original design, so it´s easier to cut. Therefore, if you purchased the previous one and were wondering, how come this looks so much bigger, that is the simple reason. Also, there will be only this version of the stencil available at the STAMPlorations store from now on.

I first inked the background yellow and then after placing the stencil on top, applied various distress ink tones thru the stencil onto the background to create the overall look. For decor I added some older stickers, a few sequins and for finishing touches, a stamped sentiment.

Now is your turn! Let´s make 2021 special and have fun with the stencil challenges at STAMPlorations. Remember to play by the rules (listed at the end of the challenge!) to be eligible for the prizes and have fun with this months challenge! Cannot wait to see what you make! Happy 2021!!!!

Happy Stenciling,

´tis the season

Hello and happy Monday!! Let me share one last stash busting card with you, created with a ton of older product.

For this one I took an older polka dotted patterned paper on which I had applied adhesive in big dots and then poured some Distress Glitter on top. I think is goes back to this Distress Glitter video back from the day.

On top of that Distress Glitter layer I placed my Holly stencil and applied texture paste thru it onto the background. I love turquoise and white together. For decor I took some really old Prima Marketing paper flowers, two brads (also very, very old ones) and attached them onto the card. The sentiment is by STAMPlorations and was stamped with black ink onto a leftover piece of white cardstock.

I am still stash busting and going to continue next year. Because a) I have too much old product, b) it is a lot of fun. Wishing you a good start into your new week, whatever you are doing. I am still on Christmas holiday and we are also in on our 3rd lockdown. Hoping your week will be a nice one!

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
