My soul is painted – Art journal page – Rubber Dance

Hello, it´s Sanna here today with a art journal process video. For this page I used the Stacked Ovals, Mini Marks 1 and Organic 2 stencils as well as Mix It Up 7, Round In Circles and Butterflies and Moths stamps.

I used plenty of Distress Oxide Inks on the background. First I inked the backround with “mustard seed”, then added “faded jeans” and “peacock feathers” thru the Stacked Ovals stencil. On top of that I applied some Marabu Metallic Liner thru the Mini Marks 1 stencil. I used the same stencil on a different area with Faber Castell Texture Gems media. When these layers were dry, I applied some “salvaged patina” with a blending tool onto the page.

Then I placed the Organic 2 stencil onto the page and applied “iced spruce” thru the stencil onto the background. After that I stamped some faces (Mix It Up 7 stamp set) with “abandoned coral” onto the background. Then using the same stamp set I added some black stamping on top. After that I added white Gloss Spray droplets all over the page.

I had some previously made gelli printed collage papers (made with Round in Circles stamp set) which I cut into circles and adhered them onto the page. Next to the circles, I adhered collage fodder made with Butterflies and Moths stamp set. I finished the page off with typewrite typed song lyrics.

I hope you liked watching the process and got inspired to create in your own journal. Happy crafting,

Mixed media tags with Distress Oxide Inks and Rubber Dance stamps and stencils

Hello, it´s my turn to share an inspirational project over at Rubber Dance blog today. I am up with a stenciled and stamped tag set this time. For these tags I´ve used some gelli printed DIY collage paper at the background and then added plenty of layers with Carved Collection 6 and Mix It Up 7 stamp sets as well as the Mini Marks 1 stencil.

I started with a gelli printed DIY collage paper that I created with the Round in Circles stamp set and a gelli plate. I adhered the paper onto a tag base and went from there, starting with the Mini Marks 1 stencil and “faded jeans” as well as “walnut stain” Distress Oxide Inks. Next I grabbed the Mix It Up 7 stamp set and stamped some numbers with “aged mahagony” stamp ink.

After that I stamped with the Carved Collection 6 a flower as my focal point and inked it with “cracked pistachio” and “fossilized amber”. I then went on and added some decor to the flowers with Posca pens and a Signo uni-ball white gel pen. After finishing the flowers, I added some more stamping to the tag backgrounds. This time with black ink. I used both the Carved Collection 6 as well as the Mix It Up 7 stamp sets here again.

Next I added some white Gloss Spray splatters for contrast and adhered the flowers on place using 3D-foam squares. I also drew some white gel pen patterns using the Stacked Ovals stencil for additional interest. Then I chose a sticker sentiment, added some rhinestones for decor and the tags were done. Here is a start-to-finish video on the steps:

Hope you get inspired to craft a little!

Watercolor style stamped collage fodder card with Distress Inks – Rubber Dance

Hello, it´s my turn to share another creative project over at the Rubber Dance blog today. I am up with a simple, but fun to make card idea. I used Autumn Leaves and Mini Marks 1 for this card project with plenty of Distress Ink tones.

I started the card project by playing with Distress Inks and the Autumn Leaves stamp set. I wanted to create “watercolor styled” collage fodder with the leaves. So I stamped with various fall toned Distress Inks onto the stamp images, misted them lightly and stamped onto a mixed media paper.

After fussy cutting the images, I took the “Mini Marks 1” stencil, places it onto a card base and added two tones of Distress Ink with a blending brush thru it onto the background. Next I just needed to adhere a row of leaves on top of the stenciled pattern as a focal point and add a sticker sentiment (or use the Mix A Sentiment 2023 stamp set to make a sentiment) and some rhinestones for decor. The card itself was done in no time, it´s the fodder creating that takes some time. Thus, I suggest, when you start, make plenty at once.

Here are the videos on how to make the collage fodder and about the card process. Hope you get inspired!

I know it´s still summer, but for those, who cannot wait for fall to come. Here is some fall themed card inspiration. Happy crafting!
