My favorite Christmas craft kit – Canvas Corp Brands

Hi there, today I´d like to share a little Christmas craft kit with you that I was asked to put together with my favorite Canvas Corp Brands products. Here it is:

This year I wanted to pick non-traditional, trendy colors for my kit, so I chose red, blue, white and ivory. I will be able to give one kit away very soon and I´ve decided to do that over via my Instagram account, so keep an eye on that. Giveaway will be coming up very, very soon. But first I´d like to give you some information about this kit:

It is available over at the Canvas Corp Brands online store. Just click the link to order yourself one here and read more details about the kit: TAKE ME TO THE KIT

The kit costs only $24,99 (with a value of +$40,-)! So make sure to take advantage of this great offer!!! And even if you are not that much of a Christmas crafter, this kit (except for the tags) will work very well for other occations too, not just the Christmas theme.

I´ve recorded a short video to go with this info post, to give you a better idea of the products in the kit. Enjoy!

I will be sharing projects created with this kit during the next days both here on my blog and on my other social media sites (Insta & YouTube). Hoping you will be joining me for those!

Can´t wait to get started with this kit!
See you very soon,

Altered wood block home decor piece

Hello everybody, we have had a little summer break from the regular STAMPlorations posts and they will be returning very soon, but it is not quite time for that yet. Therefore, today I´d like to share a „just for fun“ STAMPlorations tutorial with you.

I´ve created a home decor piece out of a wood block my dear husband cut for me into a shape of a house. I wanted to use motivational stamp sentiments as a focal point on this piece and built the layers and decoration around it. Here is what I did:

I also created a fast forward video with all the steps until to the finished block for you to watch. Hope you enjoy and get inspired to play a little with your stamps, stencils and media! Remember, there is no right or wrong, no right colors or wrong colors – just use what you have and like! Remember to have fun :).

Just in case you are interested on some products I´ve used on this project, I´ll add the LinkDeli links which will directly take you to each product (some products may not be available anymore, as they are from my older stash, but I will replace those with similar ones).

As always, if you would like to purchase any of the STAMPlorations products used on this project, feel free to grab my personal 20% off discount code (STAMPGIRLSANNA) and use it upon checkout at their store. It is valid for both regular prized as well as reduced product!

Happy creating & let´s stay creative!

Purple toned Mother´s Day card

Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying your Saturday. There´s one post that totally slipped my mind and I forgot to post it here. Mother´s Day is a while back already, but I´m still going to share this little card step-by-step idea here today with you.

I´ve used quite a big selection of Tattered Angels spray inks on this card. Mainly to color the Krumspring Stamps heart stamp with them (all tone in tone, except for the bright blue tone). For even more spray ink tones check the Canvas Corp Brands store 😉 …

This is a very monochromatic card and I could not resist adding a layer of iridescent creative medium on top of the misted background. This gives the background nice dimention and adds a beautiful shine to the card when you tilt it.

Then a selection of pink/purple stay ink tones to color the heart adds a really nice centerpiece for the card. I still love using wood veneer on my projects. I am sadly slowly but surely running out of the Studio Calico figures – they are/were really great and work on so many projects. Too bad I didn´t buy more back in the day ;-).

I´ll leave you with a short start-to-finish video to go with the card – hope you enjoy it!

Wishing you a lovely, relaxing weekend!!!

Happy crafting,

Make today count canvas

Hello there, lovelies. I am up over at the Canvas Corp Brands blog with an upcycled canvas project you might be interested in taking a look at. It is an older canvas I didn´t like that much anymore, so I took it, removed some bits and started all over again with it. Here is a look at my brand new upcycled canvas piece:

For a step-by-step TUTORIAL see this blog post over at the Canvas Corp Brands blog. I hope you get inspired by my upcycling project and take a second look at your own deco pieces that might be in need of some upcycling love 😉 …

Altered grater – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello lovelies! It is no secret that I like to go junking and collect all kinds of bits and parts to use on various mixed media decor pieces. Recently I came across some old kitchen cutlery and tools and the minute I saw the grater I knew I wanted to alter it to a wall decor piece of some kind. This was my starting point – a rusty, old grater (here already covered with a layer of gesso):

and here is what it looks like after several layers of Tattered Angels sprays and various media. The finished piece:

If you are interested on taking a better look at the STEP-BY-STEP on how this grater came together, hop over to the CANVAS CORP BLOG and read THIS POST  for all details! A full material list is also included there.

I had great fun creating this piece – I hope you enjoy the tutorial. Now all I need to do is to frame it and then it can decorate someone´s kitchen area!

Happy crafting lovelies,

Waiting for the water to boil – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello lovelies! It is again time for another Die Cut Design Team challenge over at the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog. This time we were challenged to make „Anything but a Card“! So my choice was a layout. I haven´t been making as much scrapbook layouts recently as I would have liked to, so this was the perfect challenge to finally make one. Here is what I created:

This layout has plenty of Elizabeth Craft Design product on it, starting from the White Soft Finish Cardstock as a base. Next I added strips of the new ModaScrap papers onto the bottom and the top. I used the Viaggi Vintage and the Thinking about Polynesia 12×12 inch collections on this scrapbook layout. Then I added some heat embossed (white) sentiments from the Dream Sentiments set by Joset Designs.

A layer of Tattered Angels Aquamarine Glimmer Mist makes the heat embossed images really pop. After that I die cut ModaScrap leaves from Soft Finish Cardstock and then misted those with various Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist tones (Aquamarine, Marigold, Graphite, Suede and Grumpet). I also used some Java Glimmer Glaze (the black splatters) and Simply Sheer Soft Peach as well as Baseboard Gravel spray ink tones on the leaves.

I also die cut some of the letters on the title, then misted those with grey Glimmer Mist tone and added stickers and other alphas to go with those. I then added some stamped stars and rhinestones into the middle of the flowers.

I finished the page with hand written journaling and some faux stitching along the edges. Here is a start-to-finish video for you to watch to give you a better idea of the steps.

And now, hop over to the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog to see what the other design team girls have created for this challenge. For today’s challenge Elizabeth Craft Designs are giving away two sizes of the Clear Double Sided Adhesive which will include: a pack of the 5” x 12” sheets and a 10 mm roll of tape, in addition we will also give away a pack of the new ModaScrap 12” x 12” Viaggi Vintage Patterned Paper Pack to 3 winners.

To enter simply leave a comment on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Challenge post and tell us „Besides the classic card, what are some project ideas you like to play around with?” We will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing. The winners will be announced on Friday, June 9 on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.

Wishing you all a happy, crafty day and lots of inspiration from the team!
Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna

Masculine, rustic boho style layout – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello there, everyone and happy Saturday!!! It has been a LONG, LONG while, since I made a scrapbook page. I have been „distracted“ by other types of projects recently. Then this photo fell into my hands, while cleaning up the mess the burglars left behind when they broke into our house earlier this year…and I don´t know if it was due to the emotional ups and downs after the burglary or something else that made me feel the urge to document some stories again.

I wanted to document my thoughts about my dad onto this page. He sadly didn´t get to live a very long life and I never really got to say goodbye. So there are lots of things that still dwell in my mind from time to time. I wanted to record these things, put them on paper. The journaling, because very personal, is hidden inside the envelope. I put it there, so my boys one day can read it and get a better idea of our family history. It is part of their story too.

So a big part of my layout making is documenting, putting thoughts and feelings down on paper. BUT I also have fun with the product!!! 🙂

I´ve used plenty of Canvas Corp Brands (Tattered Angels, Canvas Corp & 7gypsies) product on this layout. In the video you will find all the used product listed and will get a better idea on how I proceed when creating a layout. Hope you like it!

Whimsical home decor piece – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello lovelies!!! A while back I saw a beautiful home decor piece on Pinterest, created with butterflies. I have been wanting to create a butterfly home decor piece of my own ever since and after finding a reasonably prized glass dome at IKEA, I finally could create one.

Here is what my finished piece looks like:

The fun part about this project is that I´ve used lots of „junk“ to make this piece. The wire is from an old table calendar. I tossed the calendar and kept the wire. The butterflies are punched out of an old notebook paper I found at a local flea market and the bottom wood base (covered with burlap) is a piece of wood from my husband´s crafty project. So basically I just altered those and gave them new life :).

The fun part of this project was to use Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, some Canvas Corp Burlap and punches to bring some life to the old junk objects. I have a full start-to-finish fast forward video tutorial prepared for you to watch! Hope you like it!!!

If you would like to read more about this project, hop over to the Canvas Corp Blog to read more details over there. I´ve listed some tips and ideas over there. And now, here is the video:

I hope you enjoyed watching the video and got inspired by it to create a fun spring home decor piece of your own! Don´t forget to add some sparckle to your project with the gorgeous Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist colours!!! Here is a link to the spray ink lines.

Happy crafting! Let´s stay creative!!!

Altered present box – STAMPlorations

Hello lovelies! Time to share the STAMPlorations March Mixed Media Challenge with you today!!!

The weather has been lovely here the past days and it is slowly starting to feel like spring. I love the fact that the days get longer and the birds are starting to sing. Immediately lifts my spirits!! I might have been inspired by spring on my March reveal mixed media piece :)…. there is a little birdie sitting on top of my altered box. And the happy, bright colours might also have something to do with my anticipation for spring :)…

Here is what I did:
And this is how I altered the wooden box:

I first applied a layer of gesso onto the box. Then went over all sides, besides the bottom, obviously, with the „Ethnic Organic Two“ STAMPlorations stencil and applied modeling paste thru the stencil onto the surface. This took a while, as I always had to let 1-2 sides dry properly before moving over to the next one.   After finishing all sides I placed the wooden box into a misting box (I made myself one, after spraying my keyboard and my working area several times with various spray colours…) and misted the box – both inside and outside – with blue Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist tone „Jack Frost“. Then I decorated the lid with a little bird and two paper flowers. I misted those again with purple and yellow Glimmer Mist tones and added glitter glue here and there for additional interest.

Finally I stamped a Dina Wakley stamp sentiment on a sheet of old book paper and fussy cut that into stripes and adhered them onto the lid.

As you can see, the box is misted both outside and inside.

I can either use this box as a decorational piece or give it away as a present. Just add the present inside and it is ready to go :).

This is a very tiny box. It only measures 10 x 6 x 5 centimeters. I have been thinking of adding a bigger and a smaller one to go with it. That away they would look pretty nice together as a group.

Now it is your turn to create and link up non-card mixed media projects. The theme is always anything mixed media, except a card and you are asked to use at least one stencil (any brand!!!) on your project. The Linky closes at the end of the month. And there are prizes to be won:

– $10 gift certificate to the winner voted by the Mixed Media team
– $5 gift certificate each to the 2 top picks
– AND If there are 25 or more entries: 1 random winner wins any 2 standard sized stencils from the store

so what are you waiting for? Hop over HERE and get inspired by the design team samples and join in with us!!!

Annnddd….just a kind reminder, in case you are in need of stamps, stencils and/or die cut dies, you just might want to add this code upon checkout for 20% off your order at STAMPlorations store 🙂
