Clean and simple Valentine´s Day cards – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello everyone, it´s that time of the month again: time to share my Elizabeth Craft Designs guest team member project with you! This time I´ve created a set of clean and simple Valentine´s Day cards with just a few products!

For this card I also recorded a start-to-finish video. I thought it would give you a better idea on how to work with the Clear Double Sided Adhesive and the Silk Microfine Glitter. See the video for all the steps on how to create this card. Hope you like it!

For my second card I used the same Fitted Hearts die set, but this time I took some of the Elizabeth Craft Designs washi tape and adhered that on a piece of white paper. After covering the paper with the washi, I ran two different sizes of hearts thru my die cutting machine and die cut the „washi paper“.

Then I just arranged the hearts onto a card base and adhered them on place. For finishing touches I added a stamped and heat embossed sentiment on a dark blue paper and fussy cut it into a banner form. A very simple and easy to do card was done in no time! If you have been looking for a nice way to use some washi, this card idea might be something for you.

I hope I could inspire you with my CAS cards today!! See you again next month with another Elizabeth Craft Designs product project here on my blog.
Have a great day!

What counts AJ page

Hello everyone and happy Sunday! Today I´m stopping by to share with you some sunshiny yellow in combination with light blue/turquoise. Basically summer colours really. These colours make me happy and bring me joy and lift my mood!

This is just a fun, litte page experiment with Dina Wakley Scribble Stics. I used then almost solely for this page. I just added colours that felt good that particular moment. I actually started with the circles. I drew random circles with magenta onto the journal page, then added lots of happy yellow and combined that with lime and turquoise.

Then I added the black scribbles, drawn with my right hand (which is not my writing hand!) and fussy cut some Tina Wakley scribble girls washi tape into the circles. For finishing touches I made splatters with Dina´s Scribble Sticks, added golden paint troplets which I „rolled down“ with a straw to create that smeared, flat image. And then I wrote the „thought bubble“ alongside the black lines.

I like the brightness and happiness of this page so much. We are still on lockdown (except we get to go to work in the office on some days, rest is home-office) here and it will go all the way to 8th of February now. And who knows how long after that still.. So we need some happiness here, urgently. I hope I could brighten up your day also abit with this page!

Doubt kills the dreams! AJ page

Hello and happy Tuesday!! How´s your week been so far? Monday was ok for me, but then today when I woke up, I just was at a point, where I said, I cannot take this anymore. It´s the third lockdown now here in Austria and so far I was able to motivate myself to keep positive and just take one day after another. But today was another story! It just all felt totally meaningless. I just wanted to pull my blanket over me and forget about the world out there. Of course it did not work out, I had to pull myself together and force myself to go to work and function.

That´s it! I´m just functioning, but the joy is gone. And that is what you can also see in my art journal pages. Depending on what kind of mood I am currently on, the pages turn out happy and bright or chaotic and depressive or something in between. Without my journal I´d be lost!

Like this page, it´s totally crazy. I just went with it, put layers on top of each other and went crazy with them. Because at that moment, this is what I felt like. And then this page emerged. I´ve, by the way, used some of Tina Walker´s printed tissue paper on this page! She has some really cool stuff at her Etsy store, do check it out!! And the washi – hidden in between layers – is also by her :). She and Dee Dee have been upto some very cool creative stuff. Check out Tina´s Etsy shop here and Dee Dee´s uber cool stuff here :).

As chaotic as this page is, it made me feel better afterwards. And that is the goodness on art journaling, at least for me! It´s my emotional outlet! And on times like we live right now, one certainly needs some kind of outlet!

Wishing you a lovely evening!

Beauty „tag“

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! Today I´m again sharing another „tag“ from my play time with Dina Wakley´s gloss sprays.

For this one I´ve used all kinds of residue pieces I had left over from previous play. The background has a layer of residue paint on it, on top of that there is a layer of Lindy´s spray ink.

Then, on top of that is a piece of Dylusions Creative Journal packaging paper that I applied some night gloss spray onto. There is also some magenta (does not show in the picture, sorry) gloss spray pressed onto the paper from a stencil. That was residue that I just could not wipe away.

Beneath the Dylusions paper there is stamping made with grey StazOn (stamp by Tim Holtz – Tiny Text). And on top of that paper, there is a cluster of Collage collective paper strips and a piece of used, dry, color covered baby wipe. All attached together with a tiny attacher. Then a hand written (thanks Lizzy!) sentiment and a few buttons.

I´m loving these „tags“! Creating them is almost meditative for me and I don´t think much when making them. Just putting stuff on paper :). So much fun!

Happy crafting,

Mixed media „tags“

Hello everyone and happy Sunday! Today I´m stopping by to share a set of „tags“ with you. I call them tags, but they are actually just wripped off pages from a small journal. I have been following Dina Wakley´s Facebook lives throughout the physical distansing period and have gotten addicted to her products :).

And on Friday these beauties arrived!! I had finally given in and ordered myself the gloss sprays!! And a few of Dina´s paints and some other goodies (by Tim Holtz). Thanks, Art From The Heart for the fast delivery!!

And then I started to play – I hadn´t used the sprays before, so there was lots of „spray and learn“ things going on in my studio. And once I got the hang of it, I did a few tags, a few art journal pages and such. Here is the first „tag“ set featuring some of Dina´s products.

I also used a spray ink by Lindy´s on the background (the brown one), but the rest is by Dina, Tim and Dyan. You guys cannot imagine how much fun I had!!!

On this one I just wiped some residue heavy body paint onto the background, then dabbed some residue gloss spray onto it and took a paint comb and did the pattern. Then Lindy´s spray on top and for finishing touches Dina´s washi and bits and pieces from her collage collective book and Dyan´s journal cover slip.

For the second one I did he background again with Lindy´s brown spray. Then I took bits from Collage Collective book and cut them into pieces and created the cluster. The stamping is done using StazOn stamp ink in dark grey and Tim´s stamp set called Tiny Text. I also drew a leaf branch with Scribble Sticks and added a button.

I really like the tags – I am for sure going to incorporate them either into an art journal page or onto a card at some point. We´ll see.

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
