A while back I promised to share a tutorial for the hybrid layout called “Xmas” – created with The Nifty Pixel digi collection called Berry & Fawn. It is almost Valentine´s already, so about time to finally share this..
So this is the finished hybrid layout, created with this Berry & Fawn kit:
and this is how I created the layout:
I first chose the pink toned patterned paper as my starting point and added some Vignette Impressions and bits and pieces from the Elements pack onto that paper. I do all this “prework” with InDesign and when I am done with the digital layers, I print the paper with my Epson A3 format color printer.
Next I took a regular light blue cardstock to adhere the hybrid paper on and since the paper is very bold and lively, I printed the photos in black and white. I use a Canon Selphy for printing my photos.
After that I took a golden doily and some hand written words (both a present by my lovely scrappy friend Lizzy – I adore the words!!) and assemblied those next to the the photos.
Since there is a lot of pattern and detail in the background already, I found that I didn´t need that many elements to accompany, so I pretty much kept with the words and the doily.
Just added a few wood veneer trees here and there for additional detail.
Next I punched a few white snowflakes out of the residue piece of the pink patterned paper. They really go with the digi snowflakes so well that almost cannot tell the difference. I hope you can also see the pink glitter details on the background? Well, that is one additional element from the digi collection, not real glitter!! Does sure look like real one, doesn´t it?!!
Next I added a few white texture spray splatters here and there for additional interest. The spray is by Imagine Crafts.
Finally I just glued the wood veneer title down on it´s place, added some Stickles onto the wooden elements. It is a Christmas themed page, so some additional glitter is just fine :).
So with just a few bits and pieces and small touches the layout is finished. Fast, fun and easy!!! Hope you enjoyed this little step-by-step!
Happy hybrid scrapping!!
