Hello and Happy Monday! Today I´m up with a layout tutorial for the Elizabeth Craft Designs design team group post. I did some gelli plate play with acrylic paints and my DIY stamp, done a few years back with one of the dies available at Elizabeth Craft Designs. This was my starting point to this particular layout.

Here is how I created this page:

First I took some acrylic paints in light blue, light pink and light orange and my DIY foam stamp out. I applied the paints onto a gel plate with a brayer and then stamped with the dry stamp the pattern onto the paint. After that I just pressed the image onto white paper and repeated the procedure as six times to get six squares. After that I brayered some white paint onto the woodgrain paper and stamped random stamp patterns on top with the light orange paint and the same DIY stamp. Second I stamped some black stars onto the background using one of Sue Smiths stamp sets (see the full product list at the end of this post). After that I fussy cut the gelli plated squares and adhered them onto the background. Next I added some hand drawn outlining to them to make them better stand out from the background.

After that I stamped the “Wish Big” sentiment onto the squares with black stamp ink and also stamped it onto a piece of leftover brayered paper with the same colours on it and fussy cut that piece with scissors. You will see that piece on the layout as part of the title. While the stamp ink was drying, I applied some “Artsy Scenery” washi tape onto a piece of white paper and die cut the leaves using the Sidekick Essentials die set number 7. The washi tape covered leaves will create a nice detail to the mixed media page as decor. Before I adhered them onto the page, I ran them through a sticker maker, but you could apply Clear Double Sided Adhesive onto the back before die cutting them, so you have the same effect: DIY stickers! I just forgot that step, so I grabbed a sticker maker instead.

I also used the “Junk Journal Extras” die to cut the lace border piece from a leftover gelli plate piece with my die cutting machine. I used a little bit different acrylic paint colours (stronger) to draw the eye towards the photo with this piece on the background.

Now all I needed to do was to arrange all pieces onto the page so that they pleased my eye. For additional decoration I took some older puffy stickers and star rub-ons from my own stash as well as a wood veneer piece to decorate the page a little more. I also matted the woodgrain paper onto a piece of dark blue/navy carstock to make the page “pop” a little more.

There are so many fabulous products at the Elizabeth Craft Designs store that work great for scrapbooking. Just imagine what you can do with all the Planner Essentials and then take a look at for example the background dies. With those you could create cool background stamps for gelli printing, like I´ve done on this page. Just a few additional ideas to get you inspired :).
