Sometimes it is so hard to see the deeper meaning of the twists and turns of our life, don´t you think? And it is a good thing that we cannot see what lies ahead of us! But I have been told that life just does not throw all those things in our face for the fun of it, no, there is always a reason for everything. But the way life rolls, we just sometimes are not able to see the „why“ in that particular moment. Usually we see the deeper meaning of those happenings much, much later.
Sometimes we struggle and even fall, and those things teach us something about ourselves and life in general. Sometimes it is hard to trust the journey. I need to remind myself once in a while that I need to learn to trust the journey I am at. This is what this page is about. And since it is a very personal page, I´ve added lots and lots of journaling, however it is well hidden behind the folder :). I´ve also created a little step-by-step how I went along creating this layout:
I have chosen a Board and Room Gypsy Moments paper as my background. The Gypsy Moments collection is by Canvas Corp. First I applied some gesso with an old credit card thru a The Crafter´s Workshop stencil onto the background and let it dry.
Then I did some black background stamping over the gessoed areas and after that I added some black Glimmer Glaze paint splatters onto the background and let those air dry.
Now that my background elements were ready, I started layering some pink burlap, some wire and a Gypsy Moments File Folder onto the layout. I also added some golden yarn, the chipboard elements and stickers in clusters around the file folder. I wrote the journaling inside the file folder. There is plenty of space in there for that :).
I folded the flowers in half and tucked them underneath the file folder and applied some glitter glue over them as well as over the chipboard pieces. If you look closely, you can see that I have added some hand drawn leaves here and there to go with the chipboard. Just a fun additional detail on the background.
I added some word stickers here and there to go with the title. Together they add to the journaling and actually also form a quote of their own. A golden clothespin is holding the photo on it´s place. And finally, this is the end result:
Thanks for stopping by!!
