Hello lovelies, it is again time for the Elizabeth Craft Designs Die Cut Design Team´s monthly challenge. This time we were challenged to use a Technique Friday with Els video as our starting point. I chose to make a Patchwork Card with embossing folders and Shimmer Sheets. Here is what I did:
Here are the steps shortly, for a full tutorial, see THIS VIDEO over at the Elizabeth Craft Designs YouTube channel.
First I took pink, light blue and red Shimmer Sheets and cut those into a width of approximately 1 inch. Next I placed them inside the Elizabeth Craft Designs embossing folders and ran them thru a die cutting machine.
After that I took a Postage Stamp Rectangle die cut die and a piece of blue toned patterned paper from my stash and die cut the paper into a rigth size. Next I cut another piece (white cardstock) into a slightly smaller size than the postage stamp piece.
Then I fussy cut the embossed and sanded (sanding block) pieces into appr. 1 inch each and adhered them onto the white cardstock piece that I had covered with Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Then I just flipped the piece over to cut the residue off along the edges of the white cardstock.
After that I die cut two Lacy Poppies from white Soft Finish Cardstock and adhered the postage stamp piece and the patchwork piece together with Clear Double Sided Adhesive. I added a velvet ribbon and a brad as decoration and finally stamped a sentiment with Joset Designs General Sentiments onto the right down corner with black stamp ink.
I really enjoyed creating this card after Els´ idea!! And I like the delicate shine the Shimmer Sheets add to the background. It looks really nice, yet it is so very easy to make!!!
