Here we go again.. – Studio Tekturek

Hello everyone and happy Saturday!!! How come it´s already end of August?? Where did this month go? Eek..soon the school starts again and fall is here. It´s been a strange summer for sure. But on the positive side, my mojo is back and I feel better again. Not so drained anymore. And today I´m also sharing my first DT project, created using the gorgeous Studio Tekturek Strawberry Shake collection.

Here is the crazy layout I created with the happy and bright summer collection:

There is a story behind these silly photos… These were taken by me in March while at the hospital (during guarantine, I might add!). A day after my cruciate surgery I was all alone in a 3-bed-room and bored. Also, I might have been unter the influence of painkillers still and I took these photos :).

I found that they work so well with this sugar sweet collection that I made them the focal point of this layout. I´ve used plenty of Strawberry Shake papers, stickers and alphas on this layout. Only the spray ink, stamping, acrylic embellishments are not from the collection, but from my own stash.

I´ve recorded a start-to-finish video to go with this layout, so you get a better idea of each an every step. Hope you like the video and get inspired!!

And if you fall in love with this colorful collection, do contact your local scrapbook store and ask them to stock up some Studio Tekturek at their store ;-). I´ll be posting a tutorial on the 29th of every month during my DT term, so if you liked what you saw, do come back for more next month!!

Wishing you a fabulous weekend and happy scrapping!

Be all there – AJ page

Hello and happy Saturday! Today I´m again dropping by to share another art journal page with you guys. For this one I also did a tape transfer image and it worked out better than the last one.

Maybe, because this one is black and white or the old paper was of better material (for that purpose?).

The rest is just crazy color areas, stenciling and stamping plus some white space.

I have again used paints and inks by Ranger Inc. and the stamps are by Viva Las VegaStamps. The stencils are from my stencil line as STAMPlorations. I had lots of fun creating this art journal page. It was a tad harder to do, due to the very small size of the journal.

But playing in my journals seems to be the thing that relaxes me the most at the moment. And being on knee recovery journey still, I need to find crafty things to do, that can be done anywhere, since sitting long periods by my craft table is not the best option yet.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Zufrieden – AJ page

Hello everyone and happy Saturday! How is your social distancing going? We are still hanging in there. As a creative I at least have enough supplies to keep myself busy.

Today I´m again stopping by to share an art journal page with you guys. On this page I again played with Distress Crayons (among other things..).

This page was again strongly inspired by a demo Tim Holtz did on FB live a few weeks back. He showed a fun technique with Distress Crayons and I used that technique for this page too. I added 3 circles into the middle and adhered/treated them with matte medium. After the layers were dry, I applied Distress Crayons on top.

Then I placed one of my STAMPlorations stencil designs on top of the circles and partly removed the crayon layer with a baby wipe thru the stencil. That way the newspaper layer peeks thru the „white“ areas. I love this technique! It´s so simple and easy and so much fun!

I played with German words on this page. It´s all about one´s mindset behind the „journaling“. And I also added one of my fave Viva Las Vega Stamps into the middle circle. That is colored with Posca pens. This is a crazy page, but I liked creating it :).

What have you been upto lately? Are you creating a storm or do you find it hard to create while we are social distancing? I must confess, I have not only been creating, but also shopping supplies online – these FB lives by Dina Wakley and Tim Holtz are going to make me go bankrupt soon 😉 …

Wishing you a great Saturday!

Never assume – Art journal page

Hello lovelies! It´s time for another art journal page share. For today´s page I´ve again used gelli plate tissue paper magazine transfer images as my focal point. This is what the finished page looks like:

The background had a layer of purple spray ink already on it, so I painted on top of it with yellow and green acrylic paint. Then I added a few strips of old book paper here and there and created „lines“ next to them with ocher acrylic paint tone.

I then added stenciled images with STAMPlorations „Leaves 1 and Leaves 2“ (from my line of stencils there) onto the page and stamped with a Viva Las VegaStamps stamp images onto the backgrond before I moved over to adding the tissue paper magazine transfer images onto the page. I then highlighted some of the images with Posca pens and for finishing touches added some more stamping onto the bottom area (again using Viva Las VegaStamps) and finished everything with a powerful quote.

That´s all for today. Be sure to come back on Friday for another project share! Wishing you a great day and see you soon,

Right Now Minibook – The Wild Hare Kits

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! I´m excited to share my second The Wild Hare Kits October Petite Kit project with you today. For today´s post, I´ve prepared a tiny minibook in bright and happy colours.

This is the finished mini:

The base of this minibook is a premade one by Maya Road. I have been hoarding it, because I love the thick pages and the robust covers. They were in kraft tone in the beginning so I gave them a „treatment“ with gesso and yellow paint.

I also treated all the pages in a similar way, but only applied a hue of yellow paint onto the pages.

Both for the cover and the pages inside the book I fussy cut the „Cuckoo Clock“ images from the Truly Grateful Paper No. 11 by Pink Paislee and adhered them onto the cover on top of the stamping. The stamps I used for this mini were not in the kit, but from my own stash (Viva Las Vega Stamps and Klartext Stempel). Also the small phrase squares in 2×2 inch size that I used throughout the minibook are by Pink Paislee & from the Truly Grateful collection.

I used the squares in whole and also cut into smaller pieces for decoration throughout the minibook.

I also created additional „pages“ to fit all the photos into the minibook, by folding the „I am Mom“ yellow/blue paper into tiny pages. Throughout the pages I´ve added sentiment stamping which highlights/matches the minibook theme really well. This book is about my knee surgery late May and I wanted to write the story down and collect all the memories together in one place.

I kept the design quite simple, but could not resist adding a few fussy cut elements here and there.

I also added some of the Pinkfresh Studio „Office Hours“ chipboard stickers for detail and decoration. I´ve also sneaked in some stenciling on some of the pages. The stencil is from my stencil line collection at STAMPlorations.

Here is a short flip-thru video of the minibook. I created this book away from home when I was on my knee surgery related rehab, so the photos are partly done with my mobile phone, so my apologies for the poorly results..

I´m sorry if the quality is not the best, but when you don´t have your studio around, you need to improvise. Hope you like the video and get inspired to create something fun yourself with the Wild Hare Kits kits.

See you on the 25th for another The Wild Hare Kits project – then I will be sharing my take on the monthly sketch with the rest of the team :)!!

Happy scrapping,
xxx, Sanna
