Valentine tag

Hello everyone, it´s time for another Tag Tuesday :). This time I would like to share a Valentine´s day tag I made a while back. This again is one of the projects travelling with the Elizabeth Craft Designs booth.

I´ve used a grungy black and white paper on the Background and die cut the arrow, the word Valentine and the feathers from patterned paper. Then I added a layer of Glossy Accents on top of those elements to create some dimension.

Quickly before the Glossy Accents dried up, I poured some Silk Microfine Glitter on top of the feathers for additional shine and let that layer dry. A ribbon and some gems for decoration and this tag was done in no time. In the end I also added a faux stitching along the edges for more detail. That´s it!

Happy creating,
xxx, Sanna

Happy Valentine – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello there lovelies. So Christmas – and that holiday related paper projects – is somewhat done and dusted for a while again and it is time to start thinking about the next holidays, crafty wise, that is. Thus, how about Valentines? It is actually not that far away anymore, so better get those pinkish papers and heart designs out and start crafting, right? I did :).

And I created these two cards:

Here is what I did:
1. Take the Heart background die cut die and two pieces of colored Soft Finish Cardstock of your choice (I chose to use the thones Misty Mauve and Pink Peach). Cover the cardstock with clear Double Sided Adhesive and place the die cut die over the paper. Run thru your di cutting machine and repeat with the second piece.
2. First remove the loose parts of the hearts from both background pieces and leave them for later. Next adhere the heart background onto a card base. Then adhere the loose heart background pieces onto their places, just always use the “fillings” from the other card. That way you get a more interesting image.  Repeat until all pieces are filled and adhered on their places. I left a few empty and added some glitter glue to those areas for additional interest.
3. Now die cut the word Valentine from the Love Sentiments set out of the same cardstock tones you used for the background or from Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Add glitter to the adhesive piece (I used Pink Peony Silk Microfine Glitter here).
4. Use the Stitched Fishtail Banners to cut ivory cardstock into right size. Adhere the die cut word onto the banners.
5. Finally, decorate the cards with wooden hearts, stickers, glitter, pearls or flowers. Or whatever you feel works the best.

The Die Cut Design Team girls all did their take on this months theme “From The Heart”. Just follow this link to see what they have been upto. There are some amazing creations waiting for you at the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog. And you can find all these die cut dies over at the “coming soon” section, if you´d like to take a better look on this LOVEly release!!

Let´s stay creative,

Happy Valentine´s Day – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Scrappy friends are such a blessing! And sometimes they are there to push ones creativity into new directions (=out of ones comfort zones). That is the story behind this card I created:

Sanna LippertI was challenged by Lizzy to create a white on white project. I chose to create a card. So I only used a white card base, white cardstock, white flowers (yes, different shades, but still white, a Tim Holtz stamp, texture spray and various products from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Sanna LippertOh, and I was being a bit rebellious in the end and added a very tiny heart sticker which happens to be light green. So I guess I did not quite qualify for this challenge after all… However I like the little hint of color in there – just a little tease in the middle of the white monochrome theme.

Sanna LippertI embossed the background using the “Feathers” embossing folder. Then I added some Fitted Frames 5 – Lace Circles die cut pieces (again in white) over the embossed paper.

Next I added various sized paper and fabric flowers, stamped a sentiment with this Tim Holtz stamp and added some texture spray (Imagine Crafts) droplets here and there. Finally I adhered the puffy sticker heart and applied some Stickels for additional glitter. This is how the finished card looks like.

Sanna LippertWell, it was a fun challenge to try out, but I think I am more a color girl than a plain white on white one. Besides, have you ever seen a Valentine´s Day card this white? Looks more like a wedding card to me, but like I said, it was a challenge. My dear friend will have this card in her mailbox, so I hope she appreciates my efforts :).

Happy Valentine´s Day everyone and happy crafting!

Valentine´s Day Card w/ Canvas Corp Brands

Hello there, lovelies! Today I´d like to share with you a special kind of card. Every year I join a Valentine´s Day card swap and send a card to someone somewhere on this earth. This year my card will go to the Netherlands. So we swap, I will send the card I created to my “swap pal” and she will send me one she made. It is great fun swapping cards with fellow cardmakers! And what better ocation than Valentine´s!! In Finnland Valententine´s Day is by the way known as “friends day”. I like the idea to remember friends once a year with a card.

I thought it would be fun to add a little step-by-step to go with the finished card:

I first took a 7gypsies stamp, applied some VersaMark ink over it and stamped the image onto the kraft card base. Next I applied white embossing powder over the stamped area. Before heating the powder, I carefully wiped some areas free from the powder to create a shabby image. After that I heated the powder.

Now who know me, knows that I love ink droplets. So I just could not resist adding some pink Glimmer Glaze ones onto the background. I let them air dry, since they tend to start to bubble and boild when heated with a heat gun. Therefore I prefer to let them air dry.

Next I chose to add some darker red ink droplets, this time with Marmelade Glimmer Mist. It adds a nice contrast to the background.

After that I took some doilies from my stash and give them a Glimmer Mist treatment (Vintage Pink & Marmelade). When the doilies were dry, I took out some heart punches and punched a couple of red and pink toned hearts to decorate my card.

I also used some light pink burlap and some bits and pieces from the 7gypsies ephemera set. After arranging all bits and pieces on their places I went along and hand drew a little “love” sentiment.

So this is the finished card. I hope the recipient will like it! I kept it very clean & simple, since I wanted to leave some of the lovely kraft card base seen.

I am also so very, very lucky to be able to announce that I will be joining the amazing Canvar Corp Brands Crew!! So you will be seeing lots of Canvas Corp Brands (Tattered Angels, Canvas Corp & 7gypsies) related projects here in the future!! I am so, so excited about this journey and being a part of one amazing team – more about that to come in very near future, so stay tuned :).

And now, how about a $50,00 gift card for the Canvas Corp store?? You read right!! Now how´s that for a nice price, huh?!! I hope you will be joining in – for all the details, please hop over to this post over at the CCB blog and play along!!! I wish you lots of luck on picking your faves 🙂 – there is lots of gorgeousness to choose from!!!

Have a LOVEly day,
