Misted medallion tag

Hello there, and happy Tuesday. Today I´m stopping by to share a Christmas present tag with a special centerpiece.

I got this medaillion from my crafty friend Tina and I´ve been saving it for a special occation. I created this tag with the embossed blue paper that was in the Tonic Craft Kit No. 6.

I started by die cutting the paper with the Tonic Mixed Scalloped and Straight Edge Rectangle Layering Die Set using only the straight edge dies with the blue paper. For the white cardstock piece is changed to the scalloped edged die cut die.

I then just decorated the tag with some older product from my stash, like the button, the twine and the border sticker. i used the medallion from Tina as my centerpiece, misting it with Tattered Angels Icicle Blue spray ink (see the video here).

For finishing touches I added some Ruby Slippers Nuvo Drops here and there.

This present tag will go together with the card I made previously or I can use them separately. That´s it for today, hope to see you tomorrow when I share another Christmas Card Wednesday card.

Until then, happy crafting,

Christmas card Wednesday, No. 5 – Tonic Studios

Hello everybody and welcome to another Christmas Card Wednesday. Today I have again prepared a Christmas card for you:

For this card I used plenty of Tonic Studios product again. I´ve added a colored Magnificent Magnolia stamp image (die cut with the matching die set) as a focal point to the card. I also die cut a “Alles Gute Layering Die Set” piece from white cardstock and fussy cut it into a half, leaving all pieces on place for additional fun detail. Then I took some Citrus Green Embellishment Mousse and colored some of the negative areas with a water tank brush and the mousse. This adds a nice additional shine to the card.

The card is matted with blue embossed paper from the Tonic Craft Kit #06 and a red washi tape adds to the colour combination on the left side of the card. Finally I finished the card off with Black Velvet carstock die cut German sentiment. These are available at the QVC channel.

This was this weeks Christmas card idea. I hope you enjoyed it! See you again next week with more ideas (there might be a set of cards coming up then..).

Have a great crafty week,

Cathedral boxes – Tonic Studios

Hello everybody and happy Wednesday! Today I´d like to share some Cathedral Gift Boxes I created with that Tonic Studios die cut die.

I´ve used the Cathedral Gift Box die (this set contains 30 dies in total!!) in combination with the papers from Tonic Craft Kits #6 and #7. I am totally in awe about the high quality of the embossed papers, as I rolled them thru my die cutting machine several times to make sure the die cuts were perfect and NOTHING happened to the embossed paper surface. The flower pattern was still there after all the die cutting was done.

I started with the very basic forms form the kit. Die cutting first the box itself (you will need a A4 sized die cutting machine for this purpose!!) with the blue papers from Tonic Craft Kit #6. After that I die cut the “cathedral window” looking pieces and adhered them onto the box base with Tonic liquid glue.

I decorated the box – after adhering it together (which was really easy to do!) only with blue felt snowflakes I already had in my stash and then added some Nuvo Glitter Drops here and there for addtional sparckle.

For the second box I piced the filigrane window pieces and die cut the two “windows” into the box shape. Here I again used the lovely blue papers from the Tonic Kraft Kit #6. To make sure I got really good die cutting results with the window pieces, I rolled the die cut thru the machine 3 times. That way the small pieces practically fell off on their own :).

I also added two “window”  pieces which I die cut form white cardstock and adhered them with Nuvo glue pen onto the solid sides of the box. Then I finished the box with some Harvest Moon Glitter Accents (this is a gorgeous color in combination with teal and white!) drops.

The last box was die cut from the lovely light pink paper that came with the Tonic Craft Kit #7. This time I used the flower die cut window piece in the same manner like on the teal toned box: two windows die cut directly from the box and two white die cut pieces added to the solid areas fo the box. I again made sure the die cuts were through and ran the pieces thru the machine several times. I finished this box off by adding some Sherbert Shimmer Nuvo Drops here and there for decoration.

Also on the top of the boxes I either added some paper flowers or a die cut tag attached to the box with a matching tiny wooden clothespin. These boxes are so much fun and will make great gift boxes for occations to come.

I always find it quite hard to build boxes together without instrucktions, but this one is very, very easy to build together. I didn´t need any instrucktions for this one :). So if I can do it, you can do it too :).

Congrats – Tonic Studios

Hello there, everyone and happy Easter!! I recently received the Tonic Studios Craft Kit 07 and did a little play with the Shimmer Powder that was in the kit. I recorded a short video with some ideas, how this product can be used, so I am sharing it here with you today:

Also, after editing the video, I used some of the bits and pieces of paper I had created during testing the product, and created a set of cards. I really, really adore the green tones of this powder! And the best part, it comes with lots of shimmer too! If you haven´t tried the kits and the powders yet, you are missing out in my opinion :). Besides, this green toned powder works sooo well in combination with pink. It creates a perfect spring color tone combo:

I´ve also used some delicate butterflies on some of the cards – these are from the Tonic Craft Kit 06. I love how the stencil image turned out with the powder!

On this card I used the negative stencil image (from the video) and added some color to that piece using the pink Nuvo Glitter Marker from the Northern Lights Glitter Marker set. This also came with the Tonic Craft Kit 06, but is also available separately at the Tonic Studios store, if you are interested. I´ve added all the links to the used product at the end of this post, if you are interested on a particular product.

Here I used the powder with the stencil and embossing powder to create a fun resist background with it.

Finally, on my last card I used the light green background piece from the video and applied some Pink Opal Glimmer Paste thru the same stencil onto the surface for more interest and texture. There are also tiny dots here and there to decorate each card. I just cannot get enough of the Nuvo Drops  – <3 them!!!

Wishing you all a lovely Easter time with you loved ones!!!

Easel Butterfly cards – Tonic Craft Kit 06, project 02

Hello there, lovelies! Time for another Tonic Craft Kit 06 project share today. This is my very first ever easel card. I was a little scared to make an easel card (too many pieces to fold and adhere together and I thought I would for sure end with a big fail :-)…) BUT, I didn´t!

So while I was at it, I made two cards, the first one with the papers that were in the kit and a second card with cardstock from my stash. I love these butterflies! They are so very pretty and once I figured how to combine the dies to create the easel, it was really so much fun.

So this is the first card I created using the kit number 06. Everything, except the Antique Rose Novo Drops and the sentiment stickers are from the kit. I went a little overboard with the sparkliness of this card, but I really had a lot of fun playing and experimenting. And in the process I alse recorded a video for you to watch. It will give you a start-to-finish tutorial on how to build the single pieces together. So never mind the extremely over-colored and over-sprakled details on this card, it´s the building process I wanted to share with you.

And then for my second card – which in my opinon, is more me. I could not resist adding some glitter pen details on this one too, but I didn´t do as much as on the first one. Besides, adding the glitter pen detail onto a darker background creates a TOTALLY different look. I love how the glitter pen reacts with the darker paper!

I also stamped some mini butterflies onto the die cut pieces. The stamps also come in the kit, by the way.

I again added a motivational sticker sentiment to finish off this card. That and the cardstock papers I used, are not from this kit. I hope you enjoy watching the video. There will be more projects coming up soon again!

I think I am going to send the first, extremely sparkly card to my goddaughter – she loves sparkle and butterflies, so I am hoping that card will make her day :).
