Good times – The Wild Hare Kits

Hello lovelies, it´s again time to share another The Wild Hare Kits project with you. For today´s post I have again prepared a process video for you to watch. I also based this particular layout on the January sketch at the WHK blog. Here is what the January sketch looks like:

And here is my take on it:

I flipped the sketch ninety degrees and used two photos instead of one.

There is almost nothing outside the kit on this layout, except for the spray inks and the Silhouette studio cut files. Those are from a few years back, but I haven´t used them so far and the „good times“ sentiment just perfectly worked with the travel theme here.

I also did quite much very tiny fussy cutting from the 6×6 papers that came with my kit (if you are interested on seeing the kit in all it´s glory, see THIS POST for more details). I fussy cut many of the very small icons and also some lamas and adhered those onto the world map paper.

I´m really pleased with the effect those images create on the page! The cut files got a layer of spray ink on them to better stand out from the light background.

I also added plenty of rub-ons onto this page again. They are so very good quality and so easy to work with. If you are wondering about the journaling, it´s hidden behind the world map and written onto a white tag. That tag was not included in the kit, but I had plenty of them in my stash.

And now to the process video – I hope you like it and it inspires you to play and scrap a little ourself!

Do come back for even more projects following later this month. Can you see I am really enjoying playing with this kit! I haven´t been scrapping a lot lately, but I cannot seem to get enough of it. But I wouldn´t expect anything else from such a great kit – I love my hand curated kit!!! See you soon again,

Happy scrapping,
xxx, Sanna

„Fresh Start“ – The Wild Hare Kits

Hi there everyone, it´s time for another The Wild Hare Kits guest design team project share today. I have prepared a short photo step-by-step instead of a video for you to see, so hop over to The Wild Hare Kits blog and read more about this page there! Here is a photo of the finished layout:

This layout´s focal point is on the cutfile which happens to be the Wild Hare Kits January cutfile. I wanted to add a fun touch to it and placed the sentiment under quotation marks. That way it perfectly fits the layout theme which is „joys of long flights“ :).

Nowadays it is kinda hard getting proper, nice photos of my boys. They are always pulling faces and being silly when you try to get a decent photo. Well, for once, for this layout theme, the faces they made, perfectly matched the long flight theme :)….

Make sure to hop over to the Wild Hare Kits blog to read the full story about creating this layout. Here I am just putting some detail photos up for eye-candy.

I hope to have inspired you to play with your The Wild Hare Kits and scrap a little! Do try their hand-curated kits out – they are something really special! I am so much enjoying my guest design team over there! And do come back for more later this week and next week, I´ve still got quite a few shares up my sleeve :).

Happy scrapping,

Jardim Botanico – The Wild Hare Kits

Hi there everyone, it´s time for my very first The Wild Hare Kits guest design team project share today. But just let me first tell you how thrilled, excited and happy I am to be able to part of The Wild Hare Kits for the month of January. It is a dream come true for me.

If you haven´t heard about The Wild Hare Kits before, see my previous post for more details (there I also shared the unboxing video of my kit). I received a fabulous travel themed Deluxe Kit to play with.

Now to the project – here is what my first scrapbook layout looks like:

Here are the steps for making the project:

Step 1: Arrange the photos on the white cardstock and lightly outline the area with a pencil. Remove photos and stamp with the Leafy Backdrop clear stamp set in various light green and blue tones across the upper area of the white cardstock. Stamp the images both overlappingly and next to each other for a more interesting look.

Step 2: Outline some of the petals with a black fine tip pen.

Step 3: Add rub-on images (flowers, stitches and sentiments) onto the next to the photos. These rub-ons are of very good quality and really easy to use. Cut some of the butterfly images in half and apply them onto the page randomly, like flying butterflies. This way one rub-on image goes a longer way and you create a more realistic look of flying butterflies.

Step 4: Using a paper trimmer, cut the patterned paper into a right size and adhere the piece with paper glue onto the right side of the photos, on top of the white paper. Also fussy cut the thin flowery strip of the same paper and adhere that piece on top of the striped paper.

Step 5: Apply embossing ink onto the wood veneer piece and add two tones of green embossing powder to create an ombre look onto the wooden piece. Heat set with a heat gun.

Step 6: Add the title using alphas of your choice. I used some of my older alphas as I didn´t have any in my kit.

Step 7: Add the journaling using a white gel pen, outline the white cardstock with a black pen and a ruler and add some golden  Nuvo Mousse  droplets with a water tank brush around the areas of the title and the journaling This creates additional interest to the page.

I´ve also recorded a start-to-finish video for you to watch – to give you a better idea of the products I used and the steps that were necessary to create this page.  Hope you like it!

I do hope to have inspired you with my layout idea and my hand-curated kit. I am totally in love with my personalized kit – The Wild Hare Kits did a fabulous job picking the product for my kit. I LOVE IT!

See you soon again with more projects,
Happy crafting,

News flash and an unboxing video

Hello everybody, remember last year when I told you guys that I had made The Wild Hare Kits guest design team? Well, today is the day to start sharing TWHK goodness with you, as January happens to be my guest design team member month.

Let me start by telling you more about what The Wild Hare Kits are about, just in case you haven´t heard much about them until now.

As a guest design team member I got a hand curated papercrafting kit from Alison, who is the founder and owner of The Wild Hare Kits. Today, I´ll start by sharing the unboxing video of that kit with you all:

I am blown away by the curators skills in picking just the perfect product for me. I loved every piece in the kit. There was nothing I´d change or felt like not being „me“. The kit ordering process starts with a style profile sheet you fill in. At their website there are various pictures you rate depending on if you like them or not. In addition, you are asked to tell about what kind of projects you are planning on making, what type of papercrafter you are, what you would like to have in your kit and what you don´t like at all among a few other things. You also can wish for certain manufacturers products/lines. Basically, the more information you give in your style profile sheet, the easier it is for your kit curator to pick the right product out for you. And they will also go and check your Instragram account out, if you have one, to get a better idea of what speaks to you personally.

I filled the style profile in as well as I could and as you can see in the result, I´m very happy with the result. There is a stencil, a stamp set, some wood veneer, some flair, rub-ons and lots of lovely paper in the kit (all the things I like!). Also, there is a free cut file every month that you get with the kit (this months file is the „fresh start“ one).

You can order the kits as a „petite“ or „deluxe version“ – prizes vary (see details here) depending on the kit size. Plus, you naturally need to add shipping. Shipping was also really fast, considering, the kit came a really long way to Austria from the US.

And the cool thing about these kits is that you order them when you want to. You can order the next kit right after the previous one OR you finish the kit and order when you feel the need for more product. I really like the fact that you can decide when you want your next kit to be shipped. You can also save your style profile sheet in your account or create a different one every time. I find the whole consept of these kits very customer friendly and unique!

Oh, I should mention that I told them I was about to work on our vacation photos with my kit, thus the travel theme. See, totally personalized for my purposes! Such a great consept!

I am sorry for the silly unboxing video – I just got really excited in the opening process :). Do come back again during this month to see what I am creating with this kit. I have a huge pile of photos printed, so be prepared for plenty of scrapbooking related projects :).
See you soon!

Happy scrapping,
