Layout with The Wild Hare Kits kit

Hi there lovelies and happy Friday!! Last month I had the honour of doing a guest design team gig over at the Wild Hare Kit kit club and I loved it! I noticed that I´ve really missed scrapbooking alot! And now I just cannot stop scrapping..

So, therefore even if my GDT month is gone, I´ve still got some papers left from my Deluxe Kit and I am using them all up. So be prepared for a few more layouts to come. And besides, we took like 4000 Fotos on our vacation to Brazil last summer, so there is plenty to scrap about still.

Here is my latest layout:

I did a bit of fussy cutting and also punched circles and butterflies for the page and alighned all the bits and bobs along the patterned paper edges. But before I adhered everything on place, I gave the background a Glimmer Mist treatment with Gold And Aquamarine tones. I also sneaked some stamp images onto the background (stamp by VivaLasVegaStamps). Very light and subtle stamping.

To get the journaling stand out a bit better from the leafy background paper, I applied some gesso with a paint brush to the area I wanted to have my journaling on. That way it´s more readable. That´s it for today. Since I´ve been scrapping so much, my white cardstock stack has reduced dramatically 🙂 … time to order some more, I think! It feels so good to be back at scrapping again. I also noticed that I´m adding much more journaling to the pages at the moment, feeling the need to put the words down on paper. Recording and documenting those memories!

See you soon with another layout maybe!

Two more layouts with the Wild Hare Kits

Hi there and welcome to my final GDT post with The Wild Hare Kits January hand-curated kit. Today I´ve got two more layouts to share with you. I promise, these will be the last ones. I still have some papers left over, but it´s mainly smaller pieces, so I´ll be adding those to future tag and card projects, I guess.

Here is the first layout share:

For this layout I again stenciled the background with the Shell stencil and Distress Oxide Inks. I´ve also added plenty of stamping around the photos, the stamp is by Viva Las Vega Stamps – I think this one is by Dee Dee Catron. I love her designs there!

As you can see, I´ve used only a little bit of paper on this layout. I mainly punched leaves from the “A Box of Crayons” collection papers by Shimelle for this page. I used my Punch-All-Over-The-Page punch here. Then I fussy cut some flowers and fruits from the same papers and arranged them into clusters onto the page. The “happy thoughts” banner is from my own stash, but it matched the theme so well, that I added it there.

The “Perfect” cutfile is again from my Silhouette Studio Cutfile collection and I misted it with Tattered Angels Aquamarine Glimmer Mist to better match the background stenciling. On this particular day we visited the Sugarloaf in Rio de Janeiro with the cable car. Boy, did we have some amazing views from there and a gorgeous sunset. I am still pinching myself hat we actually were there and saw it all. It truly was a once-in-a-lifetime type of vacation for us. Maybe one day we can visit again and I can see my dear friend, who lives there, again.

And this is my final layout:

For the final layout I used plenty of papers again. I created a quilt type of background from paper squares. Some are lined up next to each other, others overlappingly and some on top of other pieces. This way there is much for the eye to see and wander across the page. Here, again, I´ve added same type of stenciling. I adore the look this stencil creates.

I´ve again added a title with Thickers, some Glimmer Mist splatters here and there, some bits and pieces from my own stash for additional decor and finished the page off with lots of journaling. I want to record all the experiences we had, because in a few months time, the memories become more blurry and you cannot recall all details anymore. So it´s a good time to put the words on paper now.

That´s it folks! This was my guest design team month with The Wild Hare Kits and I had a ball with the kit! I created a total of 7 layouts and a minibook. And a few cards too, but I didn´t count those, as I´ve mixed so many other products onto those, so they really cannot be counted as solemly kit related projects.

I would like to thank Alison for giving me this opportunity to be part of her team. It´s been a real pleasure!!! And I can honestly recommend the Wild Hare Kits to you – they do a great work curating kits for their customers. If you haven´t tried them out by now, you definitely should!!!

Thanks for a great crafty month!

Two layouts with The Wild Hare Kits hand-curated kit

Hi there everyone, I have been scrapping a storm with my Wild Hare Kits January guest design team kit and still have a few projects to share with you. So today, to still fit the projects in to the month of January, I´ll start by sharing two layout projects with you. And tomorrow I´ll share the rest then :).

Let´s start with the first layout:

For this laoyut I used a simple layering idea. I just cutthe papers into strips and arranged them slightly overlappingly on top of each other. I added some cut details/fringe to some of the strips simply for a fun detail. And I also fussy cut some vespas from the patterned paper that was on the kit as well as added some of the fussy cut sentiment boards from the “I am Mom” paper next to the photos. Also the black floss that came with my kit, ended up on this layout. I randomly let it form circles and curls on the paper and then just adhered the photos next to the floss. For decoration, I added some flair (partly from the kit and partly my own older stash) and some word stickers as well as the bold “Cherish” sentiment as the layout title.

I love these photos! They were taken after a day at the Beach Park in Fortaleza. You know, THE park with the really scary water slides. Yes, that one :). And I did try one of those scary monsters myself…

These photos were taken after our day at the park and you can see it in our faces, that we really had a great time there!!!! And can you imagine, it was WINTER when we visited! For me, coming from the northern hemisphere, that was something really amazing. Walking barefoot on the warm sand and dipping my toes into the warm sea. Aaahhh…good memories!!!

And now to the second layout:

On this page I´ve concentrated on the food we ate at our Brasilian vacation. It was so different to what we have here at home. Alone the fruits were so amazing!!! I also tried fried ants and we ate fish from the Amazon river and many more delicious foods. I had a cutfile in my Silhouette Studio that had just been waiting for a layout like this – “Eat well and Travel More”. Those might have been two separate files, actually, but I combined them for this page.

I continued with the stenciled background idea on this page, like I did on my minibook project previously, and also layered the beautiful papers slightly overlappingly again. I love the colors in my kit and the fact that they work so well with our travel destination!!! So I wanted to highlight the bright colors and let the papers create the focal point of my layout here. I´ve listed all the top foods we tried during our vacation on the little journaling card sticker (from my own stash). The vacation was in July and I already had to look up some details from the internet! Funny how fast we forget details!!! So you see how important it is to note such details down on paper. You think you remember, but you don´t…

I have enjoyed playing with my GDT kit so very much! I like the concept of the kits, where you can order one when you feel like it, giving your curator instrucktions on what kind of projects you plan to make next, what type of product you like and don´t! My kit turned out perfect for these vacation photos and it has been a pleasure scrapping with it! I had been somewhat mia on scrapbooking last year but after working with this kit the spark is there again. I definitely want to do more scrapbooking this year! So be prepared to see more layouts coming up on my blog in the future. Ahhh..I´ve missed this!

Happy scrapping,

A set of stenciled and misted shaker cards

Hello and Happy Wednesday! Now if you know me, you know I love stencils alot! Today I´m sharing a set of stenciled & misted shaker cards with you. I´ve used the Echo Park Paper Shell stencil for misting the card base with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. Next I´ve die cut the circle with Tonic Studios circle dies and created a shaker window. Before adding the glitter and confetti I stamped a sentiment inside the window for a fun detail.  After that I just finished the card off with some embellishments I had in my stash, faux stitching and a stamped sentiment. On the pink card I repeated the above mentioned steps, but changed the Glimmer Mist tone to Pink Poodle and filled the shaker part with pink confetti and glitter (by Tonic Studios).

For decoration I added again a stamped sentiment (Tim Holtz) and some faux stitching and some very old paper flowers from my stash. These go back to the time when I started scrapbooking!!

And of course I could not stop at two cards, but had to make 3 at once. For this light green toned shaker card I used Aquamarine Glimmer Mist with the stencil and filled the shaker part with green toned confetti and glitter.

For decoration I added some lime green paper roses and a golden paper leaf. I didn´t want to add any faux stitching on this one, as I really liked the soft overall look with the roses and the ribbon.

I had so much fun creating these confetti shaker cards!!! And they are quite easy to make too. The stencil, by the way, is from my The Wild Hare Kits January guest design team kit. I love, love, love using it!!

That´s all from me today, see you soon again with more projects!!!
Happy crafting,

Rio Negro minibook – The Wild Hare Kits

Hello everyone, it´s time to share another The Wild Hare Kits January guest design team spot project with you guys today. Last summer we made the most amazing trip to Brazil to my dear friend and also visited the rainforest and stayed over night at the Amazon river with them. For me it was a trip of a lifetime and I wanted to capture our Amazon river experiences into a special minibook.

I printed plenty of photos with my Canon Selphy and chose to use a pre-made minibook as my starting point for this travel album.  Here is what the album looks like:

Read the steps on the Wild Hare Kits blog here.

I printed plenty of photos and wanted to fit them into one album, so I had to cheat a little and add 6×6 papers as additional pages to fit it all in and have enough space for journaling too.

I really like how the stenciled pattern look like on the pages!

Some of the papers I´ve used are from my own stash – I added similar toned papers as additional pages, since they fit the general color sheme of the minibook better.

The overall look of the album is very clean and simple with just small decorational details and embellishments. I wanted to concentrate to the photos this time and added just tiny bits and bobs here and there for interest.

This page is one of my faves, the funny photos of my husband and me fit the “fresh start” cutfile (which I cut slightly smaller with my Silhouette to fit into the minibook) theme really well. See, the boat ride was quite chilly with water spritzing around us as our “captain” took everything out of his little riverboat :). We drove with full speed” thru the first river section, so it truly was a “fresh start” for that day.

I´ve also recorded a short flip-thru video for you to watch, so you get a better look on the finished album. I hope you enjoy watching it! I´ve truly enjoyed creating with this kit and would like to thank Alison for this amazing opportunity and for the perfectly curated kit. It has been a pleasure guesting at Wild Hare Kits!

I still have a few projects up my sleeve and will be sharing those here on my blog during the next days until end of January, so I´m hoping you will drop by to see what I have created with the rest of the kit.

Happy crafting and see you soon,
xxx, Sanna
