Waiting for Christmas – The Color Room #175

Hello there, lovelies!!! And just like that first of December is here! I am slightly panicking about the date, as I have not done any Christmas preparations yet and there is still so much to do *sigh*. But now to more fun stuff than stressing about Xmas time…

First of the month means that there will be a new colour palette up over at The Color Rooms. This one is soooo pretty! I just love, love, love this colour combination!

You are supposed to use this colour combination on your artworks and in addition incorporate some wrapping paper as a household item. On my layout I used the wrapping paper (the „ho,ho,ho“ one!) like regular background paper and sew it onto the cardstock base. Other than that I used the color combo on the various embellishments and kept the page very clean & simple.

The photo has a funny story to it. We had been visiting relatives over Christmas in Finland that year and had been spending lots and lots of time outside in the snow. It was sooo cold, that when I took this photo of my son playing outside, the camera almost „froze“ and refused to work properly. So therefore this blurry picture :). But it shows how much he still enjoyed the snow, despite the freezing cold weather… just had to keep this photo!!!

and here are some close-up photos of my page:

oh, and here is proof that I really used a wrapping paper ;-)…

I also made some cards!! I used the bits and pieces of the wrapping paper I had left over after finishing the layout. The baubles, the banner and the flag/tag are made out of it. I first adhered the wrapping paper on cardstock and then cut it in suitable sizes/patterns. The background is made with white spray ink and a stencil (by The Crafter´s Workshop). I´ve used this same idea on these cards previously.

A fun challenge, isn´t it? Hope you will all join in on this one!! Sadly, this will also be the very last challenge over at The Color Room – you can read more about it here. It has been a great pleasure being a part of the TCR team and I am very sad to see it close it´s doors. So let´s give TCR the best goodbye we can, shall we? I hope many of you will find the time to join in on this very last challenge, even though Christmas is around the corner.. Have fun with the palette and see you at The Color Room!!!

Thank you for having me Lydell and thanks for a wonderful time on the team <3.

Happy crafting,
xoxo, Sanna

A set of cards – The Color Room palette #171

Hello there lovelies! Today it is again time for another The Color Room/Heart&Soul challenge to go live!!! And without further explanation, here is the new colour palette:

Picture

Lovely colours, aren´t they? And as an additional household item you need to use a fruit bag in some way (also know as netting).  Here is what I created:

A set of cards. I´ve used the netting as a stencil (since it was neon yellow – would not match the colours…) and dabbed acrylic paint thru it onto the cardstock on the background of each card. Here are some detail photos:

I hope you will get inspired by this challenge and join in with us!!! I found using the netting very, very inspiring!! I bet you know who is going to keep some netting in her stash in the future too 🙂 🙂 :). See you at The Color Room/Heart & Soul, lovelies!!

Have a fun time scrapping,
xoxo, Sanna

Make-it monochrome – The Color Room #169

Hello lovelies! Beginning on June (..but where is the warm, sunny weather???) and thus time for a brand new challenge over at The Color Room/Heart & Soul!! This time it´s all about being monochromatic and green tones are the colours you should use on your creations AND also please use fabric!!

I used sticky back canvas as my fabric piece on the layout and first pasted some green toned molding paste thru a The Crafter´s Workshop stencil onto a piece of cardstock, added some random stamping and misting and then cut that piece into different sized triangles and adhered those onto another piece of cardstock.

After that I just added some enamel dots, glazed buttons, green yarn and the photo as well as my title and the page was all done. My layout turned out to be pretty clean & simple, quite the opposite to the gorgeous, layered monochromatic artworks my team colleagues created. Go check them out over here!!! Beautiful work!

Hope to see you join in on this challenge and play along with us!!
Happy scrapping,
xoxo, Sanna

Heurigenplatte – TCR´s Heart & Soul #167

Hello lovelies!! Today I´d like to share with you the new TCR/Heart & Soul color palette. This is also my very first page as a DT member for them – I am still pretty excited about that :)!! In addition to the color palette you will need to use a clothing tag on your project (. Now isn´t that a gorgeous colour combination?! Just screaming to be scrapped, right?! You have the whole month to join in – just follow this link to submit your creation!! Hope to see you there!!

And this was my take! I used two clothing tags (the ones next to the yellow one are from clothes).

Wishing you a lovely April and hoping I will see lots of you over at TCR this month!! By the way, there is something new up at the TCR store – the classroom section will be offering classes you can take at the comfort of your own home. There will be PDF and video classes coming up and the first one is already available at the shop, so go and take a look!

Have a lovely day,
xoxo, Sanna
