TAGplorations February Challenge Reveal – STAMPlorations

Hi there everyone and  Happy February!!! The beginning of a month always means that it is time for a new challenge share!! Today I´m sharing the TAGplorations February Challenge Theme and my take on it:

So this months theme is love and as an optional element you are asked to use cupcakes. There are plenty of lovely cupcake themed products at the STAMPlorations store, just in case you don´t own any ;-)…

Here is my take:

I used the stitched tag die to cut the pink misted paper (using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Pink Poodle) with my Big Shot. Next I placed the Hidden Hearts stencil on top of the tag and brushed some Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide thru the stencil onto the background. I  really like to use this tone-in-tone look alot lately!

Next I stamped some flowers onto white cardstock and colored them with a water tank brush and Distress Oxides. Then I fussy cut the flowers and die cut the “happy” word and adhered everything on place.

A stamped sentiment on the bottom left corner, some Glimmer Glaze droplets and Nuvo Stars confetti finish off this tag. Now it´s again your turn to play – be sure to follow the rules, when submitting your projects (see the details here). Looking forward to seeing your projects!!

And as always, feel free to use my discount code at the STAMPlorations store to get 20% off your order!!

Happy stenciling,

Mixed Media Challenge Reveal – STAMPlorations

Hi there, it´s time to share this months STAMPlorations Mixed Media Challenge with you today.

This month, I again opened my art journal and played a little. This is my challenge reveal take:

It all started with the purple Glimmer Mist splodges that had already been there on the white page. See, I tend to grab a loose piece of paper OR my art journal when I have residue ink, paint or other media left over from one project I am working on  at the moment and very randomly adding the residue onto my art journal or a loose piece of paper. I then use these pages and pieces as my starting point for another project later. So that is what happened here. I had been misting with Glimmer Mist and there was so much spray ink left over that I randomly pressed my art journal page onto it to save the color. Those splodges create the base for this page.

For this page, I then started by adding stenicled layers. I stenciled Distress Oxides thru “Hidden Hearts”, “Super Bubbles” and “Bubble Dance” stencils in various oxide colours onto the background. I must say, I like blending those inks with my blending brush. The results are so nice and soft. A great contrast to the Glimmer Mist splodges! I´ve, by the way listed all products used on this page on the supply list, so you don´t have to wonder which tone is which :). After stenciling, I swapped to stamping. I took the lovely “Mixed Media Grunge” stamp set to create the arrows, circles and tiny dot patterns onto the page. Then I added a stamped sentiment as a centerpiece to the page using the “Wanderlust Expressions 1” stamp set.

For finishing touches I added Posca Pen details, Tattered Angels Chalkboard Ink and Glimmer Mist ink splatters. That´s my project for this months reveal. I hope you get inspired and play with us!!! Just remember to play by the rules (read here). Have fun!!

And as always, feel free to use the above Discount Code for 20% off your order at the STAMPlorations store!! Looking forward to seeing your projects and wishing you a happy crafty time!!

A set of stenciled and misted shaker cards

Hello and Happy Wednesday! Now if you know me, you know I love stencils alot! Today I´m sharing a set of stenciled & misted shaker cards with you. I´ve used the Echo Park Paper Shell stencil for misting the card base with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. Next I´ve die cut the circle with Tonic Studios circle dies and created a shaker window. Before adding the glitter and confetti I stamped a sentiment inside the window for a fun detail.  After that I just finished the card off with some embellishments I had in my stash, faux stitching and a stamped sentiment. On the pink card I repeated the above mentioned steps, but changed the Glimmer Mist tone to Pink Poodle and filled the shaker part with pink confetti and glitter (by Tonic Studios).

For decoration I added again a stamped sentiment (Tim Holtz) and some faux stitching and some very old paper flowers from my stash. These go back to the time when I started scrapbooking!!

And of course I could not stop at two cards, but had to make 3 at once. For this light green toned shaker card I used Aquamarine Glimmer Mist with the stencil and filled the shaker part with green toned confetti and glitter.

For decoration I added some lime green paper roses and a golden paper leaf. I didn´t want to add any faux stitching on this one, as I really liked the soft overall look with the roses and the ribbon.

I had so much fun creating these confetti shaker cards!!! And they are quite easy to make too. The stencil, by the way, is from my The Wild Hare Kits January guest design team kit. I love, love, love using it!!

That´s all from me today, see you soon again with more projects!!!
Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
