Hello everyone, time for my second Elizabeth Craft Designs project for February. This time I would like to share a set of two cards created using the Stitched and Fitted Circles dies. I love using basic forms in various ways since they are so very versatile and never go out of fashion! Here are the cards I created:
Lets start with the first card:
1: Cut a piece of Soft Finish Cardstock into a size of 5 1/4 x 4.0 inch and place 5 circle dies over the paper to die cut those areas. Run thru the die cut machine. Remove the circles and save them for the second card.
2: Take a second piece of Soft Finish Cardstock in the same size and add purple, blue and red spray ink onto it. Let dry.
3: Adhere the die cut „negative piece“ over the misted one and ink the edges of the card base with light blue Distress Ink. The card base should be slightly bigger than the die cut piece, so that the inked edges show and create a nice contrast to the white top piece.
4: Take the Seeds of Thought Red Rubber Stamp – Take Time and stamp the sentiment inside the misted circle areas. Stamp only a part of the sentence per circle. This way the readers eye will wander from one circle to antoher.
5: Add some random black ink splatters here and there for additional interest. Let dry properly and then ink the edges of the piece with black Distress Ink for more interest. Glue on card base.
6: For the second card use the die cut circle pieces, a 4 2/4 x 4 2/4 sized piece of Soft Finish Carstock and a greenish blue piece of cardstock as a card base.
7: Use the same spray ink tones to color the circles, like on the previous card. Next ink the edges with black Distress Ink for more depth.
8: Adhere the white Soft Finish Cardstock piece onto the card base, then adhere the circles in a group. Add faux stitching with a black pen around the edges.
9: Use the same Take Time rubber stamp to stamp a sentiment next to the circles. Add some black ink splatters for additional interest and let dry. Here are close-up photos of the finished cards.
These cards are very easy to create, yet thru the bold colors used, the circle images really stand out. I hope you enjoy this simple and easy to do idea and get those circle die cut dies out for play!
