Trust Art Journal page

Hello everyone and happy June! Today it´s again time for the June STAMPlorations stencil challenge reveal. For today´s reveal I have created a double page art journal spread.

Here is my art journal spread:

I started by applying black chalk paint onto the background and after that layer was dry, I placed the Festive Bloomdala stencil onto the page and applied red and pink Distress Paint thru the stencil onto the surface.

After that I took the Leaves 1 stencil from my stencil line at STAMPlorations and applied green and white Distress Paint thru the stencil onto the background to create a leaf pattern. For the second page I did the same black background, but instead of dabbing the paint thru the stencil, I misted the paint that was left over on the stencil and pressed the wet Distress Paint area onto the black background. That way I created a negative image of the original pattern. I especially love how the „leaves“ turned out.

For finishing touches I took out my beloved Posca Pens and outlined the paint patterns with the pens. That created even more detail and highlighted the patterns nicely. For final detail I also added a quote that spoke to me and took my Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks and added random splatters onto both pages.

Creating in my art journal has been so meditative and relaxing in the past months! I am really enjoying it and try to do it on very regular basis. It helps sort my thoughts and ground me.

Now is your turn – by now you know how these challenges work – see details HERE and read the rules HERE :). Have fun!!! Can´t wait to see what you make for this challenge!!

Happy stenciling,

Spring Fling Blog Hop & Linky Party – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone, it´s time for another day of STAMPlorations blog hop & linky party!! Are you ready for some SPRING FLING fun???

Here is my card project as today´s inspiration:

For this card I used the Leaf Prints 3 stencil in combination with the All Blooms stencil. Both available at the STAMPlorations online store. I also added a STAMPlorations clear sticker to the card (from the April Showers set), but only used the word „spring“ on the card, instead of the whole sentiment.

This card is really easy to make. Just place the stencil onto a white card base, apply Distress Inks in green, yellow, orange and pink tones onto the white paper and blackground thru the stencils with a blending brush. Then die cut the flower stencil image with a die cut die, add the flower, clear sticker and the rhinestones. Adhere onto the card base and voilá, the card is done! Very simple, fast and foremost SO MUCH FUN!

Of course there are also prizes involved in this hop (read all details on the STAMPlorations blog here). Three winners will receive a gift code to the store, four winners will get their choice of STAMPlorations product (two various prize categories here!) and one winner will receive a gift code drawn from the entries of the linky party! How cool is that!!?? So many fabulous prizes!! Be sure to comment on both STAMPlorations blog and on each designers blog to be eligible!

Commenting and linking up end on Sunday, May 31st, with winners announced on June 10th in the May winners post.

Also note the extra May store promotion: All throughout May, products in the SPRING FLING section are 15% off instantly and with my discount code STAMPGIRLSANNA (equals for 20% off your order!) you can get up to 35% off in total in this section!!! Wow, I call that a good deal 🙂

Be sure to hop thru all the DT girls blogs and always start at the STAMPLorations blog, so you don´t miss anyone!

Wishing you lot´s of fab inspiration, happy shopping and crafty times!

Love, wish, dream AJ page

Hello lovelies and happy Sunday! Today I´m stopping by to share another colourful art journal page with you. This time I started with spray inks on the background.

After spraying the ink, I applied distress paint thru one of my stencil design stencil onto the page, then applied some old rub-ons. These must be 10 years old at least and they still worked!

After all this I added some black stamp images onto the background (Tim Holtz stamp designs from back in the day). There are also some colored tissue triangles, some hand journaling and a gelli plate blue paper that I cut into a tag form and added the stamping and faux stitching.

I needed some colour and bold patterns to cheer me up and this is what I ended up with.

Hoping your day has been nice so far?! Take care,
xxx, Sanna

Art journal flip-thru

Hello everyone, I really started art journaling in 2016. I had been dabbling in an art journal from time to time, but the real spark started 2016. There were still breaks in between creating and it was in 2018 that I did pages on more regular basis. Today I´m sharing a flip-thru video of this particular art journal with you guys.

Above is a peek into the journal. Since 2018 I´ve been creating in my journal much more regurlarly and it has become an outlet for feelings, thoughts and art experiments. I seem to grab the journal more often, when I´m feeling stressed, bothered about something or extremely happy.

In the beginning I could not see the „purpose“ of keeping an art journal, in between I could not live without having one. After this one was finished, I had already ordered a new one (the blue journal by Dina Wakley :)!). There cannot be a time without a journal, you see :).

So, I hope you enjoy my „journal journey“. Most of the pages I´ve shared previously here on my blog, some I haven´t. I love my journal and strongly recommend you trying one out too.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting,
Sanna

Temporarily closed – AJ page

Hello lovelies and happy Tuesday! I´m excited to share another art journal page with you today. This one turned out so to my liking!!

I originally had something going on on the page already, but didn´t like it at all. That happens. So, I took a piece of tissue paper that I had done with a gel plate, adhered that on top and started anew. After the gel plate tissue, I grabbed some bookpaper bits. Adhered those and then applied first gold acrylic paint here and there. Then I grabbed my beloved Distress Crayons and applied the gorgeous colours (also the white! crayon – love it here!!). Next I placed my Dots ´n Beans stencil and placed it on some areas to wipe of a bit of the crayon.

You can hardly see that, but look for the the blue and pink areas, you might recognize the stencil pattern there. I already had a quote in mind I wanted to use, but hadn´t figured out how I wanted to use it. Then it hit me – writing on a book page and fussy cutting each and every letter extra, then adhering in rows. I LOVE how that turned out! So going to do this more often :), definitely!

That´s it, lovelies. It´s a simple page, but I love how it turned out. Happy times!
