May stencil challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello lovelies and welcome to STAMPlorations May Stencil Challenge reveal. I have been really obsessed working in my art journal for these challenges and this month is no exception.

Here is what I created:

I also have a little step-by-step prepared for you:

I started by adding two light acrylic paint tones as my first layer to the page. Next I took the newsprint background bits #1 stickers (also by STAMPlorations) and added them in randomly cut bits on top.

After that I added some stamped images with black stamp ink using the Mixed Media Grunge stamp set.

As my third layer I first added some red paint with a palette knife, then placed a stencil (Dots n´Beans) on top of the wet paint and wiped with a baby wipe over the stencil. That way part of the paint got „lifted“ and the yellow background can be seen on those areas. I repeated this step also with green paint and Trees 1 stencil as well as blue paint and Lupinus stencil.

As my last steps I stamped some flowers and leaves (using the Bloomdoodles stamp set) onto an old book page. After that I fussy cut them. Before adhering them on place I added white paint splatters onto the background and let it dry. When everything was dry I adhered the fussy cut elements on place and added a Good Things clear sticker onto the page. For finishing touches I also added some color to the fussy cut elements with Posca Pens. That´s it.

Now is your turn to play along – hop over to the STAMPlorations blog and take a look at the reveal post. I am pretty sure it will inspire you to play! And then, just be sure to play by the rules and HAVE FUN!

Happy stenciling,

STAMPlorations April Stencil Challenge, reminder post

Hello everyone, it´s again time to remind you to play along with our monthly stencils challenge over at STAMPlorations blog! If you haven´t already, do join in on some stencil fun with us!

Here is what I created for the inspiration post:

It´s another art journal page, created using old vintage 1950s fashion pages in combination with STAMPlorations stencils.

There are plenty of media and paint residues on the background as my starting point, then I built upon that by adding stencil images with the Make Marks 2 stencil in various colours. There is also some golden glitter paste on the background, applied thru one of my stencil designs called „Onions in Raws“.

After adding all the stenciling, I adhered the fussy cut ladies onto the page and wrote the quote. I love this quote so much :-D!!! And you can also find some bits of stamping here and there. Those were made with Louise Nelson´s Quirky Birds stamp set she designed for AALL & Create.

So enough about my page, now is your turn to play and then submit to the April challenge! I hope you find some inspiration here and there is even more over at STAMPlorations blog by other DT girls.

Happy stenciling!!!

December Stencil Challenge reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and welcome to the December STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge reminder post. What´s it all about? It´s just a reminder that there is still enough time for you to play along with us and also an inspirational boost, in case you were looking for one.

For this reminder post, I´ve again created an art journal page. I know I´m repeating myself, but I just enjoy creating in my journal recently. Here is my inspiration project:

I so so enjoyed making this one! I´ve got all the fun stuff going on this page: stenciling with paste, acrylic markers, gelli printed tissue paper, stamping!

I´ve first added the Evolution stencil pattern onto the page with texture paste. Then I´ve painted the whole page with Distress Paint. Next I´ve added some liquid watercolour splodges (really just hues!) onto the background. After that I took a gel press printed tissue paper, stamped the figures onto it and then fussy cut and adhered them with Gel Medium onto the page. For finishing touches I fussy cut some crowns, added stamped stentiments with black ink and scribbled here and there. AND for finishing touches I wanted to highlight the stencil pattern, so I painted and outlined it with white and green Posca pens.

I had a really great time creating this page – now it´s again your turn. By now you know that you need to play by the rules to be eligble for the prize and that you can create anything, just as long as you use a stencil for it.

Hop over to the STAMPlorations blog to see what the other DT girls created and then play along yourself! Hope to see you there!

Happy stenciling,

December Stencil Challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and welcome to the December Stencil Challenge reveal!! I am still crazy creating in my art journal. I just cannot seem to stop.. Here is what I created for this months STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge:

It´s a stenciled and misted background created with lots of Distress Inks and my stencil line stencils and in addition I gave a try to one-line-face-drawing (well, kind of one-line). It didn´t always work out as I planned, but I managed to create a cluster of faces onto the page. This is something we also played with at Louise Nelson´s class at Okka Treff last year.

I love the randomness of these faces! I just could not leave them without colour, as I originally planned, so I added some colour to the eyes and lips at least. And I also sneaked a small journaling onto the page. It says: „Fear is a choice“ and it is so true! Danger is real, but fear is always a choice we make.

So this is my take for the December Stencil Challenge. Remember, you can always create anything you want, just as long as your project features stencils and as long as you play by the rules. Like always, there a prizes to be won – so go check out the other girls inspiration projects and grab your stencils and give them a play! Have fun!!!

Art journal page – STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge reminder

Hi there! Have you played along with the STAMPlorations October Stencil Challenge yet? If not, there is still enough time to join the challenge!! As a reminder and additional inspiration, the design team girls are sharing more projects on the STAMPlorations blog today.

Here is my take for today:

A page in my art journal, called „B the magic“. I´ve used the Evolution stencil with texture paste to create this page. For additional texture I added some gelli plate treated paper (green circles here and there).

The faces are stamped on tissue paper and colored with spray inks. There is plenty of Distress Paint added to the background, but this time I kept to very light and soft colours.

I´ve added black stamped sentiments here and there and highlighted parts of the page with Posca pens. They are my go-to pens when art journaling. I had such a great time creating this page!! Now´s your turn to play and when you do, be sure to join the STAMPlorations October Stencil Challenge (HERE). There are great prizes to be won, so don´t miss it!!!

Happy stenciling,
