May Stencil Challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and welcome to the STAMPlorations May Stencil Challenge reveal. It´s again an new, fresh, month and that always means that new challenges go live on STAMPlorations! I hope I can inspire you to join in with us at the Stencil challenge this month with my happy card.

For the May challenge I played with my Gelli Arts gel plate and my stencils. I love doing these mixed media backgrounds using the stencils. It´s always so exciting to see what kind of results come of out gel printing play time. This is also a really fun way of playing with ones stencils, by the way :).

For this one I used the Peacock Feathers stencil from my stencil line at STAMPlorations in combination with a gelli plate and skin toned and orange toned acrylic paints. After creating the background I did a few smaller prints with a set of small square gel plates and Art Marks 3 stamp set by STAMPlorations. The then became the background for the stamped flower images. Which were stamped with the Bloom Doodles stamp set and black stamp ink.

After that I just fussy cut the images and created the flower cluster onto the card. For finishing touches I added a Clear Sticker (also by STAMPlorations) sentiment.

That´s it! Now is again your turn to get creative with stencils. Please remember to play by the rules!! They are always listed at the end of the challenge and are really simple to follow, so remember, if you want to be in for the prizes, play according to the rules :).

April stencil challenge reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello and welcome to the STAMPlorations April Stencil Challenge Reminder reveal post! If you haven´t played along with us as the STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge yet, there is still time to do so :). I hope you inspire you to play along by sharing my contribution for the reminder post too!

This is my card for today´s post. I´ve used the Abstract Prehistoric Life stencil from my stencil line to create the two-toned background pattern with acrylic paints. On top of that there is a layer of Glimmer Mist in lime green.

And on top of the mist layer there is some random stamping in grey and black. The stamp is also by STAMPlorations and called „Art Marks 3„.

After creating the „background paper“ I adhered it onto a card base and added some beloved and old Sassafras stickers for decor in a cluster. On top of that I adhered a STAMPlorations Clear Sticker. That´s it!

Now is again your turn! Please make sure to follow the rules (they are listed at the end of the original challenge post). And now, be sure to check out everyone´s inspirational projects (we always hope they get your mojo going) and then do join in on some stencil fun with us!!!

And like always, feel free to use my discount code upon checkout at the STAMPlorations store for 20% off your order :).

April Stencil Challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and welcome to the STAMPlorations April Stencil Challenge reveal!!! It´s again time to play along with the fun stencil challenge, where you can create anything you please, as long as it features a stencil!!!

And here is my art project for this months reveal:

I again created an art journal page for my Ranger Art Journal – this time featuring colours I hardly ever use in my journal. Brown with mint green and pink. Well, pink you can find, but in this combo not so often!

There is some crazy layering going on on this page. I´ve done the tag with a Gelli Arts gel plate using acrylic paints, DIY foam stamps and then finishing the tag off with Dina Wakley Gloss Spray and my Art Flowers 1 stencil. On the background I´ve got a layer of gesso, then a layer of mint green spray ink, then a tissue piece I´ve stenciled the Art Flowers 1 pattern in ombré style. Then some very well hidden asemic writing. On top of that some strips of washi, designed by my lovely friend, Tina Walker! Then some bits and bobs from my other lovely crafty friend Lizzy that came in a happy mail awhile ago. Also featuring one of her was seals she sent me. Then some black ink splatters (still love adding them!). And some die cut leaves, covered with washi from Elizabeth Craft Designs. And for finishing touches the words that Lizzy also gave me.

As you can see, I was not exaggerating about the layers! I think this is one of the layer-richest pages in this journal so far. And still, it does not look too crowded. Still some white space here and there!!

Now it´s again your turn! Play along (and remember to play by the rules if you want to be in for the prizes!!!) and do some fab artworks with stencils! It can be anything from a wall art piece to textile work to aprons to ATC´s to cards or something else. Just AS LONG AS you used A STENCIL!! Hop over to the STAMP blog and get inspired by the DT girls creations and then have some stencil fun yourself! Can´t wait to see what you make!

Happy stenciling,

Stencil Challenge Reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello and happy Monday! Have you played along with the STAMPlorations March stencil challenge yet? No? No worries, there is still enought time to do so! Today´s reminder post is your inspiration boos for joining in ;-).

This is my project for the reminder post:

For this page I used the Tree 1 stencil´s negative image as my starting point on the background. I had plenty of Dina Wakley Gloss Spray on the stencil, so I just simply pressed the wet stencil onto the page and voilá! The lovely pattern was there. I really like the negative stencil image so much. On top of that I added some Art Flowers 2 stencil flowers with pink Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and the did some asemic writing onto the background.

For decor I added some Elizabeth Craft Designs artsy washi tape (cut into circles) and a hand drawn face of a lady. I originally did a full face, but then later cut it into halves to create a more abstract look. The „earring“ is by the way, also Elizabeth Craft Designs washi tape, fussy cut into an earring form. The lady is created using Posca pens and Dina´s Gloss sprays for coloring. I finished the page off with a hand drawn and fussy cut word „harmony“.

Creating this page was so much fun! I hope I could inspire you to play along with the STAMPlorations stencil challenge!! Do hop over to their blog for more inspiration by my design team colleagues! And remember, only by playing by the rules you are eligible for the prizes ;-). And now, HAVE SOME STENCIL FUN 🙂 !!!

Happy stenciling,

March Stencil Challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello and happy Monday! It´s time for the March STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge reveal!! I hope you are ready for some stencil inspiration??

This is my project for the reveal:

I created a art journal page for this months inspiration post for a change. Can you see what stencils I used on this page? I bet some of them are recognisable, but I especially love the turquoise line pattern, because it just pops out of the background. It´s one of my new stencil that I used only partly: the Amaranth! I just left the blooms out and used only the stems to create the linear pattern. Love the result so, so much!!!

As my first layer I misted some Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays onto the page thru the Trees 1 stencil. Then I added lots of lovely Dina Wakley heavy body paints in lime, yellow, magenta and orange. I just love these colours together!!!

Next I applied white paint thru the Art Flowers 2 stencil, and purple paint thru the Abstract April Showers stencil. Finally I took the Amaranth stencil and added the turquoise paint (only the stem parts) thru it onto the page. Some black paint for contrast and random black paint lines for fun detail. There is also some asemic writing on the top area, added with a white Posca pen and as a focal point from Dina´s collage collective, a fussy cut face. For finishing touches I added the date stamping and some old stickers from my stash.

I really, really love the colours on this page. They are really „me“. It´s bright and happy and cheerful. Now it´s your turn, so do join the fun Stencil Challenge yourself! Please remember to check out the rules on the STAMPlorations blog to be eligible for the prizes! AND HAVE FUN playing along with us – cannot wait to see what you all create!

Happy stenciling!!!
