20th Anniversary – The Wild Hare Kits

Hello everyone, today I´m sharing my first The Wild Hare Kits layout with the August Deluxe kit. For this layout I chose to use the monthly sketch as my starting point.

I really like this sketch very much! It has all the elements that make me swoon.

This is my take on the sketch and here is how I created the page:

I first printed several pieces of the same photo strip (I love the repeated look on a page, it adds texture and interest in my opinion).

Next I used the Echo Epic Triangles stencil with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to add some pattern onto the background. I applied the ink very randomly thru the stencil, but still kept to the basic layout of the sketch and positioned the triangles about there, where the stars are on the sketch.

After that I cut tiny paper strips from three different (see product list in the end of my post) Flower Market papers that came with my August kit and arranged  them onto the page to my liking. The tiny banners and the journaling emphemera piece are from the Flower Market collection also. If you´d like to take a better look on my August kit, you can see the video HERE. I didn´t yet adhere the paper strips on place as I still wanted to add some stamping and details.

On my unboxing video I told how much I liked the stamp set that came with my kit. Here you can see the stamping added is done with the stamps from that stamp set. I love these tiny words and sentiments and they work so well with the layout theme too!!

The tiny stamped hearts had only a black outline on them, so they were screaming for some colour :). I took a peach toned marker and coloured them all in that tone. This adds a nice detail to the layout.

For finishing touches I added the lovely Bramble Fox Petite Perspextives acrylic stars to the page. I really like these stars and they work so well with the rest of the page. Also, the colour scheme of my kit is just perfect!! Exactly what I was looking for to work with.

Here are a few detail photos of the layout:

I had a great time scrapping with this month´s sketch! Be sure to check back on the 19th for another Wild Hare Kits project :).

Happy scrapping,

Now & then – The Nifty Pixel

Hi there and happy Sunday! Today I´d like to share with you some gorgeous sketches from The Nifty Pixel. These are always so much fun and easy to get inspired by!

and this is my take on the sketch on the lower right corner:

This time I´ve used papers from Studio Tekturek as my base and added some tiny elements from a The Nifty Pixel digi kit called “Sweet Thing“. So there is some hybrid in there too. Go check out that particular kit and many other gorgeous designs over HERE!

Well, there is not much to add to this short post than to note that time sure flies!! It feels like it was only yesterday that my boy was this cute little baby. And look at him now – tall and handsome (yes, I am biased & a very proud mum :-)…).

Oh, and I am very sorry for the poor layout image. Since I started working full time again it has turned into a struggle to be at home when there is still daylight around for proper photos… this was the best I could do – the colors are much better IRL, but I hope you get the idea. I am thinking of getting myself a photo tent to solve the problem…any recommendations, anyone? THANKS!

Happy scrapping,

Success – The Nifty Pixel

Today is a very special day over at the The Nifty Pixel – the store has opened it´s doors and the first digi kits and digi skethes are online!!! Hope over to their website to congratulate Em on a job very well done and while there, take a better look on what the site has to offer.

I must admit that this is the very first time for me using hybrid products on my layouts but I AM LOVING IT! Well, not hard scrapping to there cool designs, I might add:

Check out this stunningly gorgeous kit!!! Just amazing, isn´t it!!! Anndd..there is even more to discover here!

And these are the newest sketches!! I did the one in the middle. I used some hybrid papers from the “Dreams come true” digi kit on my layout.

And here is my take on it! I used a piece of cardstock on the background and added the hybrid pieces on top. Even though the kit is very feminine, I managed to pull out some papers that worked very well together with a sporty theme :). And I am loving Em´s designs!!! Let me tell you – hybrid can be A LOT of fun!!!

I didn´t stick to the digi kit completely, but also added some bits and pieces from my stash. And used a stencil (by The Crafter´s Workshop) on the background. That is the fun of it – you can add as much or as little of the hybrid details onto your layout. I would strongly recommend you take a peek on the gorgeous digi layouts my team colleagues have created – so worth it!!! And while you are there, you might want to add the kit to your shopping basket. I have truly enjoyed creating with it!!!

Happy scrapping, lovelies!

One more Christmas card

Hi there, here comes yet another Christmas card based on a challenge I saw on the internet. Now why didn´t I think of this earlier?? So much more fun creating Christmas cards when based on various challenges :)!!! This time I used this sketch as inspiration (retrosketches #142):

and this is my take on it:

I really liked how the main focus is concentrated on only one side and layered my little bits and pieces pretty much the same way the as in the sketch. I´ve just replaced the paper squares with Xmas stockings and stars :). I really seem to be drawn to CAS cards lately. Well, might also have something to do with the fact that I need to create lots of cards for friends and family and need fast and easy solutions, especially this year, when I am way too late with the preparations!!

This was a fun sketch!
