„Happy place“ Art journal page

Hello everybody, today I´m sharing another art journal page for a change. This page is created using Distress Inks and Oxides with a DIY foam stamp. I recently created this set of cards using the same foam stamps and since I had left the stamps out on my table, I used them to create a fun stamped art journal background for this page.

What I´ve done is I first stamped the image randomly onto the page using Distress Oxides and the foam stamp (here is the video on how to make the stamps). I then let the ink dry properly and started coloring the images with Distress Inks and a water tank brush by Nuvo.

I then stamped these DIY face stamp images onto the page with black ink. The image is done on a class held by Louise Nelson last fall in Norway. I then added details using a white gel pen and outlined some of the leaves and flowers to make them „pop“ from the background. Then I added roller stamp sentiments here and there very randomly and applied some black ink splatters for detail. I also outlined the page with a black pen and added a sentiment into the outline-pattern.

Crafting is my go-to thing for relaxation and piece of mind and this page is about that. I enjoyed creating this sheet and really like the bold and colourful background alot.

That´s it from me today. Be sure to come back for some layout fun, created using the Wild Hare Kits October kit, next week.

Until then, happy crafting,

Spring Fling 12 Days of Giveaways STAMPlorations Event

Hello lovelies and welcome to the STAMPlorations Spring Fling Event!!! This event started on the 1st of April and will continue until the 12th! The STAMPlorations team girls will be sharing spring themed project throughout this time period and today is my turn to share my first project.

For today´s post I´ve created a mixed media altered decor piece out of a tin can. Here is what I made:

I used a tuna paste tin as my base and a piece of concrete builds the base the tin stands on. That concrete piece is misted with Glimmer Mists and I used the Tonic Studios Craft Glue to adhere the two pieces together. I am really pleased with the good quality of the glue, it holds metal and concrete on place really well!

I started this project by painting the tin with Tattered Angels Decor & DIY paint which hold onto metal, wood and many other materials without any primer or sanding! And the great thing is that when it dries it creates a chalky kind of finish which look good on various surfaces.

For the background I started by digging my Gelli Arts Mini Printing Plates out and used a piece of packaging tissue paper (came with a pair of shoes I recently bought). I always save this type of papers for crafting projects :). I then took out some acrylic paints and the Whales Tale stencil and started creating patterns with the Gelli Plate and the stencil onto the tissue paper. You cannot see it really well, but there is a turquoise whales tale pattern going on on the bottom of the tin. I adhered it onto place with decoupage adhesive.

Next I used the Buttercups & Butterflies stamp set with black embossing powder to create the embossed flower images onto white cardstock. I used a fairly thick cardstock to make the flowers sturdy. Then I fussy cut them (there is also a matching die set available at the STAMPlorations store, if you not into fussy cutting ;-)..). After that I used Distress Inks to color  the flowers in two pink tones.

I sprayed some Red Tipped Roses Glimmer Mist on top of the tissue paper to create even more interest into the background. Next I adhered the flowers in place.

I then decorated the piece with thick hemp garn and little birdies. For interest I also added some Nuvo Confetti stars and sequins here and there. There is also two types of ribbon going around the tin on the outside. Also adhered on place with the Tonic Craft Glue. It holds everything on place like a dream!

Here on the tilted piece you can see the Whales Tale pattern on the bottom a little bit better. Finally I also added a small rub-on word on the very top on a piece of cord. This is my first Spring Fling project. I hope you have enjoyed reading thru the steps. Be sure to come back again on the 9th to see my second project. Now hop over to the STAMPlorations blog for even more fun spring themed projects!!!

Happy hoppin´!

Second set of cards created with Nuvo Mousse – Tonic Studios

Hello there, like promised, I am sharing a second set of DIY cards, created using the Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and some other Tonic Studios products – if you only came here today, see the original post here.

So without further ado, here is the second set of cards, I promised to share:

On these cards I have again used only bits OR the whole background I created on this video:

I´ve also added some Tonic Studio cardstok to the cards – these are mainly from the Mirror and Satin paper lines. Also I´ve sneaked some 7 Dots Studios papers into one of the cards, since I found that it worked soooo well in combination with the Tonic Studios products.

I will keep this post short, since it is already very photo heavy. Come back tomorrow for the last set of 4 cards and keep an eye on QVC for the sets that will be sold there on the 30th of May (among other the German sentiment set I know some of you have been wanting to get).

Happy crafting,

3 easy ways to use Nuvo Embellishment Mousse – Tonic Studios

Hello there, lovelies!! I have been busy creating for the upcoming QVC show, featuring the German Tonic Studios sentiments and lots of lovely other products on the 30th of May, 2018. So if you have been looking for the German sentiments, this is your chance!!!

While I was creating samples, I also recorded a short video about how to easily use Nuvo Embellishment Mousse (by Tonic Studios) on your card projects. On this video I share just three simple ideas, but there are so many more, however that will have to wait for another video later :).

So here is the video:

And then to the cards, since there are so many, I will first just share pictures of, say 3 of them today. The next ones will follow tomorrow and the day after, so if you are interested seeing them, do come back for more :).

So that was the first 3, I have used the backgrounds I created, in various ways, by cutting them in half or using just tiny die cut pieces or a full piece as a background. Also I´ve added plenty of other Nuvo and Tonic Product to the originally created background pieces. This way a few backgrounds go a long way and besides, it was so much fun to add other bits and bobs to the cards.

I ADORE the golden cardstock, it is sooo pretty!!! Check the full product list at the end of this post for more details on the used product. I love, love, love the gold, silver and pearl lines!! I think I need to stock some golden cardstock and the Mother of Pearl mousse for the future, I am aftraid to run out of it too fast 🙂 …

The ribbons and flowers as well as the brads are from my older stash, but they work really great with the new product. Also, the chipboard is by Wycinanka, from the time I was on their Design Team – still love using their fragile, delicate chipboard on my projects!!!!

I hope you get inspired to create your own card backgrounds and give the Nuvo Mousse a go youself. See you tomorrow for more cards!!!

Happy crafting,
