Craft for a Cause – Blog Hop for Shery Russ

Hello everyone and happy Sunday! Today I am sharing a craft post for a cause: We are organizing fundraising for our friend Shery Russ. Shery is a paper crafter, creative designer, illustrator and owner of @stamplorations along with her husband. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2022, and it has spread to her right pelvis. She and her husband David have two beautiful daughters, who are 6 and 4 years old.

Shery has been unable to work since receiving her diagnosis, and as of May 23, David is responsible for pretty much everything due to Shery’s chemo treatments. So we join together to send her some good energy and help thru purchases/donations with this crafty hop. (Please read all the way to the end for a change to win a little prize, too).

I created this card for Shery using STAMPlorations stencils and papers from my own stash. The stamped elements are also done with STAMPlorations stamps. Now due to the treatments and concentrating on her cancer journey, she has clearly not been able to keep the sore open as usual, BUT if you want to help, here are some options:

July 3, 2022 — Since my breast cancer diagnosis in April, I’ve had to drastically cut back on work. I needed to focus on getting to doctor appointments, having labs/scans/tests/procedures done, and (since May 23) going to chemo treatments. Our online store is our family’s main income source; our finances have taken a major hit since my diagnosis.

As my physical health allows, I’m making select products available to order. I’ve bundled them up and put them in envelopes so they are ready to be mailed as soon as possible. They are also available at up to 64% off (either at an instant discount or with their respective discount codes indicated on the product titles and product descriptions). At this time, we are shipping only within the US and Canada. I need to keep shipping simple for when my husband has to take over shipping duties. Shipping is either a flat $5 (orders under $35) or free anywhere in the US, while shipping to Canada is a flat $21 (inclusive of duties and taxes via Delivered Duty Paid).

For our loyal customers and friends who have asked about ways to help us during this time, a sister at our church has put up a Meal Train page for our family — those who live close by us could bring us prepared meals, and those who live far could send us gift cards through GrubHub or donate money to ease our financial burden. If you would like to donate directly, we have created a page dedicated to our family’s breast cancer journey that we will regularly update.

Whether you order from our store, help us through Meal Train, or make a donation, our family is eternally grateful for your help and generosity!

Also what you can do to support Shery and her family is you can go to the STAMPlorations digital product section and purchase designs there. Here is the direct link there. Any purchase and donation is a help, no matter how small!

To follow the blog hop, please kindly start from Sadia´ s Instagram page and hop along from there. Any kind of help towards Shery´ s family is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support and/or purchase.

#tuac5minchallenge – Day 28

I am very late with Day 28 share for the Ugly Art Club´s 5 min challenge today. It was a lovely day and it had to be spent outside in the garden mostly, so I recorded the video very late.. But here is today´s take:

As a base I used an old postcard and applied Dina Wakley Gloss spray´s on top, then some Nuvo embellishment mousse thru a stencil and then just random bits from one of my junk bags.

Ok, way past bedtime for me. See you tomorrow :)!

#tuac5minchallenge – Day 24

Hello and happy Tuesday evening! A quick share for my Day 24 take on the Ugly Art Club 5 min challenge for day 24:

I really like these vintage ladies, so I did another one with one of them on it. Then some Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays, a dried out baby wipe strip, a sentiment from an old book and that´s about it.

That´s it from me for today. Hope your day was good! See you tomorrow!

#tuac5minhallenge – Day 20

Hello and happy Friday!!! This week was rough on me, so I´m very happy to have a few days off! Today´s piece for the Ugly Art Club 5 min challenge is a quick one. We did our grocery shopping and came home and it was REALLY chilly outside. Therefore, today piece is all about fall..

And here is the video. Nothing very spectacular, just fall colours for today. I didn´t have any energy for more :). But I showed up for the five minutes anyways!

Wishing you all a relaxing weekend with lots of creative time!!
See you tomorrow! xxx, Sanna

Today we celebrate… – card

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today I´m stopping by to share another mixed media style card with you. This one has lots of lovely Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays on the background. I just love the effects you can create with them!

Thanks to the bold background, there is not much more needed to decorate the card. I love the white space and the bold colours on the backgrond, so I kept the rest very simple. Just a fussy cut collage image from Dina with some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse stenciled thru my stencil design (at STAMPlorations) and a simple white banner with a stamped sentiment.

Inside the sentiment continues with “….You!” ;-). I also managed to detash one small button again. I have so many of them that they will last me FOREVER! Plenty of lessons learned there to only buy what you can use! And also USE the product, don´t hoard it!

Wishing you a lovely start into a new week! How´s life at your end? Here it´s been crazy busy yet again. So many things happening all at once that I would just love to shout outloud “stop” and make time to freeze for just a moment to be able to adjust to all that is going on.

Have a great, crafty day!
