Hello and happy Thursday! Today´ s share is a mixed media piece, created using various leftover pieces from my „junk bag“. I was thinking I could frame this piece and give it away as a present to someone :).
On the background I have a gelli printed tissue piece, then some stenciling with Nuvo Crackle Mousse thru a STAMPlorations stencil. After that I´ ve got some Distress Paint and some Nuvo Shimmer Powder added to the background. The circles are from a leftover Glossy Spray sprayed piece. I just fussy cut them and added some outlining with a Posca pen. For finishing touches I added a stamped sentiment (using Klartext stamps) and a vintage figure that I also fussy cut out of a poster.
Here you can see some of the shimmer powder on the left bottom corner, by the way. I will add this piece to my „ugly art“ mixed media piece collection. I really enjoy doing these artworks, because it allows me to just play and add stuff without giving it too much thought.
Wishing you a great Thursday evening – it´ s almost Friday, lovelies! xxx, Sanna
Hello and happy Tuesday! It´ s a tag share kind of day today. I´ ve again used leftover pieces and went towards ugly art again for a change.
The background was a really ugly alcohol ink experiment piece what I cut into a tag shape and „un-uglied“ it as well as I could ;-). I added some Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays, some Nuvo Crackle Mousse thru a stencil and a piece of gelli printed tissue paper. For a focal point I chose a Klartext stamp and a Collage Collective (also by Dina) face that I colored in with Distress Crayons and Gloss Spray.
I think she turned out pretty okay. I hope your day is great! I´ ll have a day off tomorrow (yay!), because someone I know once said one should not work on ones birthday ;-). So there, I´ m taking the day off and doing something nice!!
Hello and happy Monday! I wish your Monday was not as busy as mine was? It´s going to be a few rough weeks ahead of me, but hey, at least there is still art to help to relax :). This is my Day 23 share for the Ugly Art Club 5 min challenge:
I came home and did a quick one today. I love using these vintage girls lately. So I added another one for today´s piece.
Other than that it´s Dina Wakley Media Gloss Sprays and Tim Holtz Distress Crayons on the background. Also some Nuvo Crackle Paste and one stenicl of mine (by Stamplorations). The text is from a really old school music note book ;-).
This one came together really fast and without thinking much. I am starting to wonder if I can ever do longer periods of creating, as I am getting used to doing only 5 minutes a day ;-).
Hello and happy Tuesday!! Today I´m again stopping by to share another page from my art journal. I´m working in my Ranger art journal at them moment, so I have various type of pages I can play with. Today, it´s a kraft paper page.
I have some stencil prints on the page (see the turquoise Gloss Spray pattern?). It´s done with my new stencil called „Amaranth“ and with Dina Wakley Gloss Spray. I love the look of that simple print in the bold and bright turquoise against the kraft background.
The other patterns are either Dina´s paints or her Scribble Sticks. The tag is covered with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse, Elizabeth Craft Designs washi tape and Dina´s older sentiment stamps (see details on the supply list).
Then there is some asemic writing, done with a white Posca pen. The tree is colored with a black scribble stick. After that I added a layer of Nuvo Crackle Paste on top. I love the look! That is pretty much it. The swirly black thing is done with Dina´s black paint.
That´s all for today! I´m at work again, so for me holidays are over. We are still on the 3rd lockdown here in Austria and it will go on a while still (almost to the end of the month). Still, I am hoping this year will be better to all of us. We sure all do need some good news for a change, right?
Do come back on Thursday to see what I created for my Elizabeth Craft Designs monthly post :). See you then!
Hello and happy Saturday!!! I have been thinking about my word for 2021 for a while now and it was not as an easy choice as last year! I´ve been thinking about the perfect word to carry me through 2021, but I just couldn´t put my finger on one single word and say: „that´s it!“. So I´ve chosen three words for 2021 to guide me through the year.
Here is a page desplaying my chosen words:
So the words I chose are: dedication, growth and strength. I plan to carry these words in my mind and heart throughout the year and hope to reach the goals I´ve set myself.
This word should guide me in all areas of life through this year. Whatever I decide to do, I´ll do it with commitment. Whether it´s sports, work, crafting, family life, me or anything else.
Growth on the other hand is growth as a person, on a mental level and development in all areas. Again whether it´s work, sports, my art or me in general.
And last but not least, my third word: strength. This brings all the previous words together and connects them to a stronger bond. Here, I also want to develop my strengths – whether it´s sports, arts, work or any other areas of my life. I will need strength to carry on and to remind me that I want to be dedicated and grow and develop.
For creating this page I used plenty of various media. Stencils are from my stencil line at STAMPlorations, Dina Wakley paints were added and Dylusions sprays were used. The stamps are also by STAMPlorations and I´ve also added some tissue here and there, gifted to me by a lovely ATC swapping partner from all the way in Australia. I´ve also got some Tonic Studios Crackle Paste on the page as well as Posca pens. And some date stamping to record the date.
I also felt the urge to use bold, strong colours again for a change. It´s been a while I´ve used them and at the moment I just cannot get enough of them.
Last year my word was self-care and little did I know how well it fit the year 2020, when I chose it. It honestly scared me a little how well the word matched the year, so that is also why I´m putting extra thought to this years word(s). As I am asking the universe for these things, I might as well do it with my whole heart. Fully committed. I am a little fearfull (which should be a good thing, right?) of putting the words out there and hope that at the end of the year I´ll be happy I chose these words.
I hope you enjoy my art journal page share today! Wishing you all a lovely start into 2021! Have a great weekend!! xxx, Sanna
