You were born to fly – Stamplorations Stencil Sunday

Hello there lovelies, it is again Stencil Sunday time! For today I´ve created a fun project to share with you. It is something that I discovered when cleaning my stencils recently. I did the cleaning process on my work surface and when wiping the stencil clean with a baby wipe, I noticed that the residue ink it left a nice wet pattern onto my working surface. So that is how the „what if“ thought started…

So this time when I had an inked stencil that I wanted to clean, I simply placed it on top of a piece of scrap paper. Voilá! The idea was born. I know it is nothing very fance, but I liked the idea of using all the residue ink this way. I even did a short video for you to watch. Here is tag that resulted from this idea:
I used a piece of old yellow scrap paper and a stencil that had a layer of red ink on it. In this picture you can see that the stencil pattern on the background is quite light, that is because the baby wipe only takes so much ink from the surface and transfers it onto the background.

Above are some close-up photos of the tag and the background. I´ve decorated the tag with stamps and some washi tape. That way it can be used as a bookmark too, since it is not very bulky.

And finally, here is the video on how I created the tag. I hope you enjoy it and the idea!!

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna

Happy Winter – STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday

Hello everyone!!! Today is again time to remind you of the NOVEMBER Mixed Media Challenge at the STAMPlorations blog. The whole design team has been creating some inspirational projects for you, so do check them all up over HERE :).

Here is what I made for November – as you can see, I am slowly but surely starting to get into Christmas project creation mood ;-). Here is my first Xmas tag:

Sanna Lippert - Leaf print stencil Xmas tag Sanna Lippert - Leaf print stencil Xmas tag

I´ve first misted the background with light blue Chalkboard Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels). Next I applied blue pearlescent creative medium (Imagine Crafts) thru the Leaf Prints 2 stencil (by STAMPlorations) over the misted layer. THEN I added turquoise blue Glimmer Mist over the whole surface. After that I used the CUTplorations „Warm Winter Wishes“ die cut die and cut the sentiment from white paper (I used those for another project that I´ll share with you later) and only used the negative piece. I matted this piece with red patterned paper and then started layering old book paper, eco dyed ribbon, cork stars, golden yarn and stickers over each other. I used the Christmas Reindeer stencil (also by STAMPlorations) – well, actually the mask piece of the stencil – as a drawing guide and then fussy cut the reindeer and misted it with grey Glimmer Mist and adhere it on it´s place. I had a lot of fun creating this piece 🙂

This tag will make a nice addition to a Xmas present, I think. So now is your turn! You don´t have to create anything Christmas themed, though!! Please read the rules before you link up – no worries, they are easy to follow!! Hope you find the time to join in with us!!!

Have fun creating!!
Sanna
