Hello lovelies! How about a colored image card for a change? I know, I don´t do them that much, but I was asked to create a girly birthday card and while brainstorming about it, I was flicking thru a coloring book by Stampington and spotted the perfect image. It made a great centerpiece for the birthday card! Here is what I created:
Very pink with lots of glitter and girlish feeling going on on this one ;-). I really enjoyed coloring the image. I used to spend hours and hours with coloring books as a child. And it still is lots of fun.
I did some doodling around the edges with a black and white paint pen (by Dylusions). Really like how those little details make the edges pop. The recipient of the card likes glitter, so I tried to incorporate as much as I possibly could. I added die cut, double sided adhesive hearts onto the background and then poured two tones of Elizabeth Craft Designs Silk Microfine Glitter onto those areas. The darker tone is Bright Grape and the lighter one is called Copper Rose.
I also added a die cut sentiment, colored the words black with a marker and then treated the surface with a Wink of Stella silver brush. The number 9 is an from an older Pink Paislee collection – since it has a nice glitter surface, it works perfect for this card. And I do love the nice sparckle the glitter adds to the card.
I sure hope the recipient likes her card!!! I had a good time creating this piece – even though it totally differs from my usual cards.
