Zum Muttertag – Tonic Studios

Hello and happy Friday!! Today I´d like to share a vintage style Mother´s Day card with you. This again was built together from various older pieces from my paper stash, also again featuring some of Just A Gild With Ideas digi/hybrid papers.

The background piece again is from a paper pack cover sheet which I saved. It makes for a perfect card background here. I then added some fussy cut hybrid paper elements in a cluster as a focal point to the card. The “Zum Muttertag” (=for Mother´s Day) sentiment is a German sentiment die by Tonic Studios. I die cut it from a watercolor paper I had misted with purple spray ink.
There are glossy details added with the Tonic Crystal Gloss in the middle of the card (No. 1) and also some tiny Nuvo Glitter Dorp details here and there in the flower elements. This card would be perfect for a grandmother for example.

That´s my crafty share for today, hope to see you around, I´ll be sharing another fun card project this weekend here on my blog.

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna

Cutie Pie – The Nifty Pixel

Happy late Thursday evening, everyone!!! What have you been upto today? We had a day off today and were enjoying the gorgeous weather outside. Summer is definitely my favorite season and I am sooo happy it is that time of the year again. I even got a bit sun kissed today. Funny, how ones mood reflects the weather – or vise versa – as I woke up and saw the gorgeous sunshine, I just could not help but to smile widely.

I had been eating some ice cream and just relaxing with my family the whole day. Taking some photos of my blooming garden (if you are interested, then hop over to my Insta page to take a look). And we ate home grown strawberries today. Boy were they good! Did I mention that I love this time of the year?? 😉

I am desperately trying to build a bridge between the text above and my layout, but I am not doing very well, am I… oh well! At least the photos are from the same season. And the kits name is Sweet Thing and the designs are just perfect for this time of the year. There, the connection between the first two paragraphs and the layout is done :). So time to reveal some June digi goodness from The Nifty Pixel!!! Again, totally in love with these desings (and yes, I know I am repeating myself here every month..but what can you do..the designs are ALWAYS fabulous..).

And now, the kits:

And this is my first layout made with the kit. I did something experimental with this months kit. I played around with the elements and the patterned papers in InDesign. And wow, that was truly mind blowing!!! The result is a layered paper. What I did is I added the elements onto the patterned paper in the InDesign programm and then printed the paper with my Epson color printer (A3 format).

This is what the “layering” procedure looked like on my computer. I went and added all kinds of “rub-on”, text and splodges designs over the orange patterned paper and when I was happy with the end result, I printed the paper. This is how the printed paper looked like, before I started adding photos and details:

Pretty cool, huh? And very easy to do. I am not very good in using digital elements AS digital elements and playing around with them, but this is what I managed to do with just a few clicks. I find that pretty cool. And now I already had a playful, interesting background to start with.

So I did quite a little with the page as I was already very happy with it. I just added the photos and fussy cut some elements pieces and glued them on their places. I also added some black Glimmer Glaze here and there for additional detail and took some washi tape and combined it with the dymo label hashtag designs.

In this close-up you can see, that there are both “real” and digital ink splodges here and there.

Even the title is added directly to the background design. How fun and easy is that!

Finally all I needed to do was to add lots of journaling which I chose to write along the edges of the paper. This was a really fun experiment and very mind blowing to me – I will for sure experiment more into this direction with the next kit too :).

Happy (hybrid) scrapping,
xxx, Sanna

I adore this sketch!!! just love the pie charts :). This is what I made:

and some details:

there is some stamping and stenciling in there, of course. Stamps by Tampo(maniak) and stencil by The Crafter´s Workshop. Papers are mainly by ColorConspiracy. Love them!

This page is about something that has proven to be following me thru my whole life – paper and crafts! The photo was taken when I was around 8 years old and what am I doing there? Drawing. All kinds of crafts have always been very close to my heart and they still are. This is what the page is about.

Now hop over to the Page Drafts page and prepare to see some amazing layouts made by my design team colleagues!! They have been seriously rocking this months sketches!! Enjoy!

Hope you get inspired and use these sketches! Have fun scrapping,
xoxo, Sanna
