Retirement cards – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello everyone! Today I´d like to share another Elizabeth Craft Designs guest design team card project with you. I created a set of two retirement cards using their die cut dies and stamps with Ranger Distress Inks.

For this card I used a white cardbase which I created a yellow cloudy sky with a DIY stencil I made using the Adventure Edges die cut die. I inked the coulds onto the background with yellow Distress Ink. Then I die cut all the waves using the Adventure Edges and Ocean Edges die cut dies. I inked the waves in two blue Distress Ink tones to get more variation into the waves.

Then I die cut the scenery using the Palm Trees die cut set. I die cut everything from white Soft Finish Cardstock and then inked all pieces with Distress Inks. After inking I just arranged everything onto the card base and starting with the waves, adhered the pieces on place. I used both liquid adhesive as well as Clear Double Sided Tape for the bigger pieces. The tiny tweezers are a big help, when adhering the tiniest parts on place!

After that all I needed to add to the card was a stamped sun and sentiment. I used the Build Your Own Sentiments 1 stamp set for the sentiment and took the sun from the Beach Sentiments stamp set.

Then for foam on the waves I used a Scribble Stick with a paint brush and splattered that only onto that particular area. This makes the sea look more interesting.

I also created a second card using exactly the same steps, but this time I replaces the palm trees with a sailboat. This die set is sadly discontinued, but you could easily replace this die with for example a Hot Air Balloon. I find that also very suitable for a retirement card.

This card I created using exactly the same product, except I used the Ahoy Sentiments instead of the Beach Sentiment here.

To give you an even better idea of each and every step, here is a start-to-finish video for you to watch. Hope you like it!

This was my May GDT tutorial for the Elizabeth Craft Designs. I am very excitedly waiting for a parcel with some new product arriving. Cannot wait to share project with you next month again!!

Happy crafting,

Funny Food Cards – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello everyone, it´s my turn to share some card ideas on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today for my August guest blog post. I created a set of fun „cute food“ clear stamp cards and I love these stamps in combination with the fun sentiments, because you can create cards for practically every occation with this stamp set!!

But first let me share the steps with you:

Step 1: I started by stamping the images very randomly with black waterproof stamp ink onto white Soft Finish Cardstock and then coloring them with Highly Pigmented Watercolour Pencils and blending the colours with a water tank brush.

Step 2: Next I fussy cut all the tiny images with my tiny Tim Holtz precision scissors. This takes a while, so if you would like to save time, I suggest you buy the matching „Cute Food“ die cut die set for the stamps. That will save you lots of time! I didn´t have one, so I used my scissors. This is more time consuming, but also works.

Step 3: After fussy cutting I took a piece of white Soft Finish Cardstock and inked it with green and blue Distress Ink using the blending technique. Next I die cut the inked paper into two background pieces using the Circle and the Diamond Background dies.

Step 4: I then adhered the background pieces onto blue and purple Soft Finish Cardstock using a wide glue pen. You can also use the Clear Double Sided Adhesive instead of a glue pen, but you have to adhere it onto the paper before die cutting it! I also stamped the sentiments with embossing ink onto black cardstock several times and heat embossed them with white embossing powder to use them as sentiments on the finished cards. I fussy cut the embossed sentiments into banner, but you can also use the Stitched Fishtail Banner die for this purpose.

Step 5: For my third card I used the negative pieces of the Circle Background die to create a circle pattern on white card base. The donuts work really well together with the negative residue pieces and create a fun card.

For more shine and texture I decorated the donuts with some Crystal Glaze.

Step 6: Depending on which card I was working on, I either added some shading onto the background with Distress Inks, decorated the colored images with googly eyes or added glazed details onto them.

I had such a great time creating these Cute Food cards. After you are done with coloring and die cutting/fussy cutting them, the rest is fast and easy!! Here are my finished cards:

I hope you enjoyed my August ECD tutorial and get inspired to play with the Cute Food stamp and die set youself!! I´ll be sharing my next guest design team project over at their blog in November – see you then!!!

Happy crafting,
Sanna

Happy Birthday card

Hello lovelies, today I am again quickly stopping by to share a birthday card with you. I´ve created this card with various Elizabeth Craft Designs product. This is one of the projects I made for them to travel with their company booth across the globe on various craft fairs and events.

The card base and the patterned paper is first cut with the Fitted Fishtail die cut dies. After that I adhered the pieces together with their Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Next I die cut one heart with the Fitted Hearts  die cut die and the one underneath it is cut with the Lace Heart (from the Moda Scrap series). On top of it all there is one glittered Lacy Poppies piece. I´ve used the Antique Silver Silk Microfine Glitter on it. Finally a stamped sentiment (General Sentiments by Joset Designs) with a Stitched Fishtail die cut die and decorated with white texture spray splatters, wood veneer and a silver ribbon and outlined with a black pen (faux stitching). That´s all!

Wishing you a wonderful day!
Let´s stay creative,
