Art journal flip-thru

Hello everyone, I really started art journaling in 2016. I had been dabbling in an art journal from time to time, but the real spark started 2016. There were still breaks in between creating and it was in 2018 that I did pages on more regular basis. Today I´m sharing a flip-thru video of this particular art journal with you guys.

Above is a peek into the journal. Since 2018 I´ve been creating in my journal much more regurlarly and it has become an outlet for feelings, thoughts and art experiments. I seem to grab the journal more often, when I´m feeling stressed, bothered about something or extremely happy.

In the beginning I could not see the “purpose” of keeping an art journal, in between I could not live without having one. After this one was finished, I had already ordered a new one (the blue journal by Dina Wakley :)!). There cannot be a time without a journal, you see :).

So, I hope you enjoy my “journal journey”. Most of the pages I´ve shared previously here on my blog, some I haven´t. I love my journal and strongly recommend you trying one out too.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting,
Sanna

Tagplorations October Challenge – Fall

Hello there everybody, today marks the start of a new challenge at STAMPlorations blog, called TAGplorations. It is a tag theme related challenge, posting monthly challenges on the first Tuesday of the month (and a mid-month reminder/inspirational post on the 3rd Tuesday of the month). The challenges are all about tags and there will be a monthly theme around which you will be asked to create your tags. This months theme is FALL 🙂.

Here is my take on the theme:
You will also be given a color scheme or something else optional to work along the main theme. This time the optional theme is color. So use the colors RED, GOLD and ORANGE on your tag as an additional/optional twist to the fall theme.
For more details on the challenges, rules etc. – hop over to the TAGplorations blog (here). Here are some details: players can link up as many projects as they want (BUT ONLY 1 project per blog post), projects can be anything but it must feature a TAG, STAMPlorations product is not required, prizes are $10 Gift Card for the winner; $5 Gift Card each to the 2 top picks and If there are more than 50 entries -> 1 player will be randomly drawn to win her choice of CUTplorations dies worth up to $20. So what are you waiting for!! Join in with us for a fun tag challenge :)!!!

I did a inked background, added some stenciled elements on top, then some stamping (the sentiment) and finally added a Distress Oxide inked piece of paper that I had stamped fall leaves onto and fussy cut them on top of my tag. The leaves have golden details (heat embossed) on them. Finally some golden droplets here and there to finish off the tag. Annndddd… I´ve created a short start-to-finish video for you to watch as a bonus for the first TAGplorations challenge reveal. Hope you like it!!!

Happy crafting,

Abstract art journal spread – STAMPlorations

Hello lovelies, it is again time for another STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday! This time I created an abstract art journal spread and made a little start-to-finish video to go with it!

Abstract art journal spread - Sanna Lippert

Abstract art journal spread - Sanna Lippert Abstract art journal spread - Sanna Lippert Abstract art journal spread - Sanna Lippert Abstract art journal spread - Sanna Lippert I´ve used plenty of green Distress Paint as a base. The reason is I was creating another project and poured way too much paint onto the painters tray..cannot waste good paint, can I? So I wiped the residue onto my art journal and some more onto spare papers. Could be that you will see lots of greenish creations popping up here on my blog in the future *giggles*.

I really liked how the paint looked on the art journal sheets so I continued from there and created an abstact art journal spread using lovely STAMPlorations products. Here is the start-to-finish video of the creating process:

I hope you will find some time to join this months Mixed Media Challenge over at the STAMPlorations blog?!!! It is a fun one as you can create pretty much anything, just remember NOT to make cards :).  Even the theme is free! More details and rules to play along over here!

I hope you enjoy watching the video and get inspired to create something fun yourself!
Happy crafting,

Tangled greetings – Canvas Corp Brands

Hi there and happy Friday! We have gorgeous sunshine here today and I´m really enjoying the rays of sun – funny, how they immediately bring a smile on my face!! So it´s end of February already. My month was full of ups and downs and I will share more about it in due course, when the time is right. Don´t worry, nothing like I´m seriously ill or something, just normal ups and downs life sometimes throws on our paths to see if we can cope with them and maybe also to learn us to cherish the days more when there are no obstacles on our way. I´ve been told, it´s going to be all good and something better always evolves from change, but I´m afraid you see these things first afterwards and I´m not quite there yet, so cannot quite see it yet ;-).

So instead I´m going to enjoy the sunshine and the gorgeous weather today. Boy have I missed the sun!!! :). And now for the most important part – a few cards!

I made these with various Canvas Corp Brands products. Mainly used the Tattered Tangles papers and some Tattered Angels mists. Can´t go wrong with those, right? 🙂 So what´s Tattered Tangles then, you are probaby thinking. They are pre-made papers with all kids of zentangles on them (here is a link for you to see what Zentangles is all about). Canvas Corp. has all kinds of pre-made papers in this style. The idea is to use them as they are or as a base for further “zentangling”. Sometimes it´s hard to draw the first line on white paper and these papers will help you start :). Then there are papers that have motives on them, like presents. I´ve used those on my cards. You could either decorate them a little bit more (= add more zentangles) or leave them as they are and give them a touch of color instead. That is what I´ve done on these cards. I just colored them with alcohol markers. Really easy to do and the paper absorbs other colors too. You could use mists, glazes, crayons and regular coloring pens even. I wanted to get a strong color so I chose alcohol markers.

For the background I´ve added a piece of watercolor paper which I sprayed with similar tones of Glimmer Mist. That way both the present image and the background go nicely together. The background is really easy to do, just spray some color onto the background, use a heat gun to dry it and if preferred add some more color and heat dry again.

After coloring the present images and creating the background I just glued everything on their places. I used 3D foam pads to glue down the presents. That way they stand out a little bit. I´ve also added a slight layer of glitter glue on the bow to give it a touch of sparkle.

Finally I just used some hand carved stamps (made by a lovely friend of mine – thank you!) to stamp the black dye ink sentiment on the cards. I find the the style of the stamps goes really well with the tangled papers. That´s it, the cards are all done. This is really easy and fast to do – and fun – so I hope you give these papers a try! There will be another project coming up soon, same kind of papers, but totally different direction – can´t wait to share it with you as I had so much fun making it! 🙂

Ok, I´m off now. Wishing you all a lovely, sunshine filled weekend!!!

Buckets full of water – The Crafter´s Workshop

Hi there! It is again time for another The Crafter´s Workshop blog post :). Today I´d like to share yet another simple and fun stenciled background idea and layout. Instead of using plain modeling paste, try mixing it together with acrylic paint or “coloring” it with spray inks. Then just wipe it onto your layout background thru a stencil and you have immediately created an interesting detail and a unique background.

SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC

This layout is about my darling boy pouring a bucket full of cold water over himself and enjoying every second of it. These photos date back to summer 2013, so he apparently was way ahead of his time doing his own version of the “ice bucket challenge”. I had a great time creating this layout! Hope you get inspired to grab a few inks, some modeling paste and a stencil and play a little!!

Have fun!
