Stencil challenge reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and happy Friday! Today it´s again time to remind you all about the May STAMPlorations stencil challenge and the fact that there is still time to play along with it!

Here is what I created for the reminder post:

For this page I used the Fall Floral Trio and the Make Marks 1 stencils with Distress Paints. For the tag I used the negative image of the Lattice stencil.

I just applied yellow and purple Distress Paint thru the stencils onto the background and let the layers dry. Then I took the word “today” from the Sweet Cravings stamp set and stamped with black stamp ink. there is also the Newsprint Background Bits #1 clear sticker on the background – cut into smaller strips.

For the tag I misted a Distress Paint covered stencil with water and pressed the image onto a piece of white cardstock. Then I cut the piece into a tag size and added the faux stitching, ribbon and the clear sticker sentiment.

For finishing touches I also added the Buttercups and Butterflies stamp set flowers, fussy cut them and colored those with Distress Crayons.

Now it´s your turn. There is still enough time to play along with the stencil challenge. Hop over to the blog to see the other inspiration projects and then join us! Hope to have inspired you to play along!!!

Happy stenciling,

May stencil challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello lovelies and welcome to STAMPlorations May Stencil Challenge reveal. I have been really obsessed working in my art journal for these challenges and this month is no exception.

Here is what I created:

I also have a little step-by-step prepared for you:

I started by adding two light acrylic paint tones as my first layer to the page. Next I took the newsprint background bits #1 stickers (also by STAMPlorations) and added them in randomly cut bits on top.

After that I added some stamped images with black stamp ink using the Mixed Media Grunge stamp set.

As my third layer I first added some red paint with a palette knife, then placed a stencil (Dots n´Beans) on top of the wet paint and wiped with a baby wipe over the stencil. That way part of the paint got “lifted” and the yellow background can be seen on those areas. I repeated this step also with green paint and Trees 1 stencil as well as blue paint and Lupinus stencil.

As my last steps I stamped some flowers and leaves (using the Bloomdoodles stamp set) onto an old book page. After that I fussy cut them. Before adhering them on place I added white paint splatters onto the background and let it dry. When everything was dry I adhered the fussy cut elements on place and added a Good Things clear sticker onto the page. For finishing touches I also added some color to the fussy cut elements with Posca Pens. That´s it.

Now is your turn to play along – hop over to the STAMPlorations blog and take a look at the reveal post. I am pretty sure it will inspire you to play! And then, just be sure to play by the rules and HAVE FUN!

Happy stenciling,
