Card for Christening

Hello and happy Monday! Here is a slimline card I created for a girls Christening.

I used die cut dies by Elizabeth Craft Designs (the hearts, hot air balloons and the label) and a German Tonic Studios die cut die sentiment in the middle. The papers are from my older stash and the little birdies are from Studio Calico back in the day when I subscribed their monthly kits.

The little dots are done with Ranger Liquid Pearls and Tonic Nuvo Glitter Drops. The label is adhered with 3D foam to add dimension to the card.

Inside the card there is a pocket for a gift card/money/gold coin (this is a popular tradition here) to be added inside.

The dies I used are sadly retired. But if you want to make a similar card, I am sure there are alternatives available at your favorite store. I will add alternatives to the links – should you be interested.

Have a fabulous day!

Birthday card

Hello everyone and happy Saturday!! I´m just quickly stopping by to share a fun card with you today. A friend asked me to create a unique card for someone´s 30th birthday and here is what I came up with.

The person receiving this card happens to be a Minions fan, thus the Minion image in the middle. Then I added die cut foam for the numbers and sentiment plus stamped fun phrases onto the card and envelope. By the way, the stamp I´ve used on this card, is not available anymore, but I found one by Hero Arts that comes pretty close 🙂 – see product links at the end.

I really, really like how this card turned out and I truly hope the recipient will also like it.

Wishing you a fabulous weekend and happy crafty times!!!

Glückwunsch – Tonic Studios

Hello lovelies and happy Saturday!! I hope your weekend is getting along really nicely. We recently celebrated my son´s graduation from high school and of course I had created a DIY gratulation card for that occation for him. Here is what I did:

Since he was wearing a grey suit and was about to receive presents in grey, silver and black colors, I chose to create the card in the same colors.

I first stenciled the background with a Tonic Studios stencil and a grey stamp ink. Next I die cut the “Congratulations” (in German: Glückwunsch) sentiment background piece from silver mirror cardstock and the main sentiment piece from black cardstock (both by Tonic Studios). I adhered them on top of each other before adhering the layered sentiment onto the card base. For decoration I chose some wooden stars. Have been hoarding them in my stash from my Studio Calico Kit submission times from way back.

And I also created a matching envelope to go with the card by adding some stenciling and stamping onto the white envelope, just leaving a tiny area in the middle empty to be able to add his name there.

It was truly a very special day – not just for him – but also for us, his parents. One proud mom moment :).

Happy, crafty weekend, lovelies,

Glückwunsch card

Hello lovelies and Happy Wednesday! Today I´m going to share a shiny wedding card with you. I´ve used Tonic Studios silver mirror cardstock to create the shiny surface and I love how easy it is to die cut. Here is what I did:Now photographing a mirror card is a little bit tricky. I took plenty of photos to get the silver surface look captured. But in the above photo you can see it pretty well. And I took this photo too, to give you an idea of the contrast of the silver cardstock in combination with the yellows, oranges and pinks on the flower pattern area. Ah, I just love that look!

So what I did was I first die cut the Romantic Boquet (by Elizabeth Craft Designs) piece from silver mirror cardstock (see the supplies for details!). Then I took a piece of smooth white cardstock and inked it with orange, pink and yellow Distress Ink tones and placed it underneath the die cut boquet. I then took a piece of white watercolor cardstock and sprayed it pink with pink spray ink and then die cut the German Tonic sentiment from it.

I adhered everyting on place with craft glue and for the sentiment I used the Nuvo Glue Pen (Large). Works like a dream with fine, detailed pieces!! Oh, and as a card base I used the Fuchsia Pink Craft Perfect Cardstock. The card measures 16 x 13 cm´s.

Wishing you a great day and happy crafting,

Für Mama – Tonic Studios

Hello and Happy Saturday! Today I´m stopping by to share a Mother´s Day card with you, created using some Tonic Studios products as well as some older flowers from my craft stash as well as older patterned papers.

Recently I had a lovely person stay in my studio who volunteered to organize my paper stash by color. And while she was doing it, I discovered so many forgotten paper treasures! I am more  a b-side-crafter when it comes to papers and how my papers are not only sorted by color, but also have the b-side facing the front in the folder. Heaven for me :)!

So I have started de-stashing my papers by using them :). And I just love this background paper in combination with the strong pink cardstock and the older flowers. These are really old – they go back to around 2006-2007!!! In my opinion they work really well with the Tonic Studios German Sentiment Die, Nuvo Glitter Drops and the background paper :).

And tomorrow is Mother´s Day, so what better theme to share a card about. This card was really easy to make – just adhere the papers, die cut the sentiment from a residue piece of inked paper, add some Nuvo Drop details, layer the flowers and attach together with a brad and adhere everyting on place. That´s pretty much it!

Wishing you all a great weekend and Mother´s Day!!!
Happy crafting,
