Unboxing Day – The Wild Hare Kits

Good morning lovelies and happy 2nd of April! Today it´s again unboxing day over at The Wild Hare Kits today. I´m happy to be able to share my April kit with you all today :-). I was a bit afraid my kit would not arrive in time, as the shipping information did not update itself for at least two weeks, but then, suddenly on Monday, the postman pushed the parcel under our garden door (no personal contact allowed, you see).

This is my gorgeous, colorful, cheerful and happy kit. I wished for one like this. And it´s again spot on. I wished for a colourful, happy and cheerful kit for April. Little did I know when I ordered it, that we´d be sitting at home and distancing ourselves from everything. Now that it arrived, I am more than happy that I ordered this type of a kit.

Here are the videos, let´s start with English:

Here is the one in Finnish:

And last, but not least, the one in German:

I hope you enjoy the videos!! I cannot wait to start creating with this kit!! And there is also one more kit I received a few days back, my “long lost” March kit. For those videos, just hop over to THIS POST and watch :). I´m planning on creating a minibook with that kit some time in April too, so stay tuned :).

And now to my lovely fellow WHK crafters, here are some direct links to the unboxing videos by them – enjoy!

I wish you all a lovely April and hope that thru staying at home we can “starve” the virus out as early as possible. Stay home and stay healthy!

Lots of love,

Two layouts with The Wild Hare Kits hand-curated kit

Hi there everyone, I have been scrapping a storm with my Wild Hare Kits January guest design team kit and still have a few projects to share with you. So today, to still fit the projects in to the month of January, I´ll start by sharing two layout projects with you. And tomorrow I´ll share the rest then :).

Let´s start with the first layout:

For this laoyut I used a simple layering idea. I just cutthe papers into strips and arranged them slightly overlappingly on top of each other. I added some cut details/fringe to some of the strips simply for a fun detail. And I also fussy cut some vespas from the patterned paper that was on the kit as well as added some of the fussy cut sentiment boards from the “I am Mom” paper next to the photos. Also the black floss that came with my kit, ended up on this layout. I randomly let it form circles and curls on the paper and then just adhered the photos next to the floss. For decoration, I added some flair (partly from the kit and partly my own older stash) and some word stickers as well as the bold “Cherish” sentiment as the layout title.

I love these photos! They were taken after a day at the Beach Park in Fortaleza. You know, THE park with the really scary water slides. Yes, that one :). And I did try one of those scary monsters myself…

These photos were taken after our day at the park and you can see it in our faces, that we really had a great time there!!!! And can you imagine, it was WINTER when we visited! For me, coming from the northern hemisphere, that was something really amazing. Walking barefoot on the warm sand and dipping my toes into the warm sea. Aaahhh…good memories!!!

And now to the second layout:

On this page I´ve concentrated on the food we ate at our Brasilian vacation. It was so different to what we have here at home. Alone the fruits were so amazing!!! I also tried fried ants and we ate fish from the Amazon river and many more delicious foods. I had a cutfile in my Silhouette Studio that had just been waiting for a layout like this – “Eat well and Travel More”. Those might have been two separate files, actually, but I combined them for this page.

I continued with the stenciled background idea on this page, like I did on my minibook project previously, and also layered the beautiful papers slightly overlappingly again. I love the colors in my kit and the fact that they work so well with our travel destination!!! So I wanted to highlight the bright colors and let the papers create the focal point of my layout here. I´ve listed all the top foods we tried during our vacation on the little journaling card sticker (from my own stash). The vacation was in July and I already had to look up some details from the internet! Funny how fast we forget details!!! So you see how important it is to note such details down on paper. You think you remember, but you don´t…

I have enjoyed playing with my GDT kit so very much! I like the concept of the kits, where you can order one when you feel like it, giving your curator instrucktions on what kind of projects you plan to make next, what type of product you like and don´t! My kit turned out perfect for these vacation photos and it has been a pleasure scrapping with it! I had been somewhat mia on scrapbooking last year but after working with this kit the spark is there again. I definitely want to do more scrapbooking this year! So be prepared to see more layouts coming up on my blog in the future. Ahhh..I´ve missed this!

Happy scrapping,

My little superstar – 3rd Eye Craft

Hello there! For this 3rd Eye layout I started with a piece of white cardstock. First I stamped the background with the leaves stamp using different stamp ink colours. Next I covered one half of the background with a patterend paper that was in matching colours to the inks I had used previously. After that I took the “sparks” stencil and applied some Distress Ink with an ink blending too onto the patterned paper piece. Now the background was done and I was good to go over to decorating my layout.

I used several different chipboard elements on this layout and applied them over each other. I also inked them around the edges for more depth. The feathers are “hanging down” from a piece of twine and surrounded by lovely sequins. The arrows are hand drawn and accompanied by stamp images and die cut paper pieces. The badge and some of the stamped images add to the journaling of this page.

I added the doodling around the edge to bring both sides of the background paper together.

If you look closely, you might notice that all the elements in the middle of the page create an heart shape around the photo. I wanted to create this effect to add to the feeling of this page and of this very special photo of my son.

Home made Christmas presents: olive oil bottles – 3rd Eye Craft

Good ideas are sometimes very simple. This is one of those. Preparing DIY olive oil bottles for Christmas is very fast and easy to do. I had been looking at seasoned olive oil bottles in the grocery store and was thinking that I actually could do that myself too – with herbs from my garden. So I bought myself a selection of medium sized glass bottles, cleaned them and went to my garden to pick some herbs.

I then filled the bottles with rosemary and thyme twigs and added different spices to go with them (garlic, black pepper and chili). Next I just filled the bottles with olive oil and let them settle.

I then made some “Seasons Greetings” labels to go with the bottles and used the last cardstock leftover pieces I had lying on my desk from making the Christmas present boxes

I cut strips and punched a big enough circle hole to fit thru the bottleneck. Then I made a fold slightly under the punched hole. This way the label will hang nicely alongside the bottle.

Next I just needed to decorate the labels and for that purpose I used dimensional pearls, yarn, a snowflake badge and some snowflake chipboard pieces. Finally I just added a sentiment banner and glued all the pieces on their places. Hope you have enjoyed this little present idea!

Tässä toinen nopea ja helppotekoinen joululahjaidea. Itse tehdyt lahjat ovat usein niitä parhaimpia!!

Happy Holidays! – 3rd Eye Craft

Hello! I really like to use stencils on my artworks and was thrilled when 3rd Eye started their own stencil line. I´ve used one of them (sparks stencil) on these Christmas cards. Here is a little step-by-step on  how I created these:

I first placed the stencil over the cards and applied ink with ink daubers thru the stencil (I used both the positive and negative image).

Next I applied some glitter glue and Gelatos over the inked surface for more interest.

After that I took the glittery card and stamped some snowflakes on the background for additional detail.

Then I colored these little tiny bits which can be inside the stencil with blue alcohol ink and glued them onto the card with GlueDots.

For the second card I punched Christmas ornamets, then outlined them with a black marker for more contrast.

Finally, I used a silver yarn and silver glitter glue to “hang” the ornaments and added some stars from the “Snowflake” chipboard element sheet for additional decoration. In the end I just added the sentiment which I partly stamped (Word stamp set) and partly wrote by hand.

Hallo ihr Lieben! Hier ein kleines Kartentutorial für euch! Gestaltet mit 3rd Eye Produkten. Viel Spaß beim Basteln!
