Christmas card

Hello everyone and happy Friday! Today I´m stopping by to share a few Christmas cards with you. Here is one of them:

This is a card created using the Village Edge die cut die by Elizabeth Craft Designs, combined with the Fitted Rounded Rectangle die cut die. I wanted to try a shaker card of this type, creating a big shaker “window” and then adding a village scenery on top. This was a fun thing to do, but for my next card I´ll create a little bigger outline for easier arrangement.

My second card is also created using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Owl die cut die as well as the Fitted Rounded Rectangle dies. The dotted paper on the background is also from the same company as is the sentiment die cut die. For coloring the owl, I used Distress Oxides. The sentiment is die cut from a silver mirror cardstock.

And for my last set of Christmas cards I´ve used premade dry embossed papers which I have inked with Distress Inks and for the sentiment I´ve used a die cut die by Elizabeth Craft Designs and the tree die cut die is by STAMPlorations. The glitter paper and the embellishments are by Tonic Studios – their glitter cardstock and Nuvo Drops as well as Confetti.

This year I am hopefully going to make my Xmas card deadline and get them also mailed in time :). Looking good so far!

Be sure to check back to my blog on Sunday, when I will be sharing a few more Christmas card projects with you! See you then!

Happy crafting,

Welcome Baby cards – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello there, it´s my turn to share a card project over at the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today. I have been wanting to use the Jungle Cuties stamp set for a while now and found that it perfectly fits a cute style welcome baby card theme. So today´s post is all about cute welcome baby cards.

I used the Elephant and Lion stamps to create a card for a baby boy and a baby girl. Here are the finished cards:

To create these cards, follow these steps:

Step 1:  Take a 2 pieces of white cardstock and wipe 3 tones of pink Distress Ink onto one background and do the same on the second cardstock piece with green Distress Ink tones.
Step 2: Spray water mist onto the kraft sheet and use the circle stamp from the Jungle Cuties set and stamp circles onto the background with water. Let set for a while and then dabb residue water off with a piece of cloth.
Step 3: Die cut 1 background piece from Soft Peach Soft Finish Cardstock with the Geometric background die and then die cut a second background from Celadon Green Soft Finish Cardstock using the Kaleidoscope Background die.
Step 4: Adhere the inked backgrounds together with the die cut background pieces (peach on pink and green on green).
Step 5: Take the Fitted Circles dies and die cut a circle from the background piece. Save the pieces for another project. Choose the place for the circle opening as you wish. I made on in the middle and one on the right lower part of the background piece.
Step 6: Now stamp a lion and elephant image on white card bases where you chose the circle area to be. For easy stamping, trace the circle with a pencil onto the card base. This way you will find the right area, where to stamp, easier.
Step 7: Color the images with Distess Ink tones of your choice using a water tank brush.
Step 8: Color the background area around the stamped image with diluted Distress Ink “hue” and let air dry.
Step 9: Adhere the background pieces on place with 3D foam for more dimension.
Step 10: Stamp sentiments onto white cardstock. I used the Ahoy Sentiments and General Sentiments stamp set stamps for this step.
Step 11: Die cut the stamped images with Stitched Fishtail Banner dies and adhere on place.
Step 12: This is totally optional, but you can now add some more detail with liquid pearls/Nuvo Drops onto the cards. I used Glow In the Dark Nuvo Drops for a fun detail!

Here are some detail shots of the finished cards, following those, there is a start to finish video for you to watch to give you a better idea of each and every step.

I hope you enjoy this months step-by-step tutorial and give this idea a try. I really liked creating these cards, especially the water stamping and coloring the cute animals was so much fun! Hope I could inspire you abit today!

See you next month,

Seasonal tags with Glimmer Mists

Hello there everyone, have you been following the Creativation 2018 in Phoenix via social media? Well if you have, you might have noticed the Canvas Corp Brands booth there. It looks fabulous. So much to look at, new product and just eye candy everywhere.

I have been following my team colleagues feeds and have really enjoyed seeing everyone there, thus, I haven´t had THAT much time to be creative (first things first! LOL).  For such moments, there is always a plan B to make something small – tags, ATCs,  and small mixed media projects. I chose tags this time – here is what I created:

I started with the snowflake tag. First I die cut the snowflake from white cardstock, then took a black tag and placed the stencil on top. After that I applied the Aquamarine Glimmer Mist through the stencil. This is an imporatant step for the base of tag 2: now carefully remove the wet, misted stencil and press the residue spray ink onto a piece of white cardstock. This creates the background for the fall tag. Then finish the snowflake tag by adding faux stitching with a white gel pen around the edges and adhere the with Jack Frost misted snowflake as a centerpiece. Decorate with Nuvo Drops and a 7gypsies brass stud. Add a word sticker and ribbon.

Next create the fall tag – take a Mixed Media Origins Fall paper and color the fall leaf images with yellow, brown and orange Glimmer Mist tones (see material list for details). Next fussy cut the leaves and die cut a tag from the already misted stencil pattern area. Add black ink splatters with black Glimmer Glaze and let dry properly. Adhere the leaves overlappingly, attach a word sticker or two. Add faux stitcing with a black gel pen and finish off with a ribbon.

For the rose tag – first die cut a tag from white cardstock, then apply a layer of Silk Glimmer Mist to the tag piece, let dry and then add random stamping with a writing background stamp and ink. Take a Mixed Media Mini Origins Art Collection paper from the Wings series and color the rose image with various shades of red and pink Glimmes Mist and green Glimmer Mist(see the material list for all used colors in the end of this post). Then fuss cut the piece and adhere to the tag with paper glue. Add some lace and ribbon as well as a heart shape for decoration. Finish off with faux stitching around the edges, some twine and ribbon as well as a word sticker.

For the travel/explore tag take a Maze cardboard piece and trace a tag pattern onto it, then fussy cut. Next apply Sugar Maple Glimmer Mist over the background and let dry. Now take a small manila tag and mist it with Summer Glow Glimmer Mist and add a Architextures Parchment Rub-on onto the manila tag. Cut a piece of Ordre du Jour paper and add it onto the tag for additional detail. A a with Linen Glimmer Mist misted inspirational tag on top. Then adhere the yellow misted manila tag to the tag. Decorate with a brown misted paper rose, some fussy cut leaves and a Architextures Trinkets Ink Pen. Finish off with a word sticker and some rope and twine.

I love creating tags, the more I make the more ideas I get. And you can take the same basic materials and just change the color sheme and you are good to go and create a tag for yet another theme/season. Tags are also a great way for using up little scraps and altering/including even older materials from your stash. And they are quick to make and a nice addition to a present!

Happy Birthday card

Hello lovelies, today I am again quickly stopping by to share a birthday card with you. I´ve created this card with various Elizabeth Craft Designs product. This is one of the projects I made for them to travel with their company booth across the globe on various craft fairs and events.

The card base and the patterned paper is first cut with the Fitted Fishtail die cut dies. After that I adhered the pieces together with their Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Next I die cut one heart with the Fitted Hearts  die cut die and the one underneath it is cut with the Lace Heart (from the Moda Scrap series). On top of it all there is one glittered Lacy Poppies piece. I´ve used the Antique Silver Silk Microfine Glitter on it. Finally a stamped sentiment (General Sentiments by Joset Designs) with a Stitched Fishtail die cut die and decorated with white texture spray splatters, wood veneer and a silver ribbon and outlined with a black pen (faux stitching). That´s all!

Wishing you a wonderful day!
Let´s stay creative,
