I don´ t care

Hello and happy Friday! I have a card share up for today, even though I first planned on not posting until January. Oh well! But then I played a little and as a result this card was born :).

I did the #bestnine2021 grid the other day and noticed that most of the projects on that list were mixed media ones. And while I saw them, I remembered how much fun I had while creating the projects. And as a result, this card was born.

If you are interested on seeing my top nine posts from 2021 – here they are:

Most of the projects are from the 5 minute mixed media project sessions. And funny enough, my first reel got really many likes too and landed on this grid. And really many peeps also liked my CAS Christmas tags I did with Klartext stamps. So many of you also love clean and simple in addition to mixed media. I do jump in between both styles, depending on what I´ m working on. What is not on this grid are some of the faces I did for “the100daychallenge”. I personally liked them alot, but I guess they were not everyones cup of tea :). I like doing these grids at the end of year – mainly to see a selection of a years work, rather than to see what someone liked and didn´ t like.

Another interesting thing I like to do, is the Year Of Colour grid/report. I find it interesting to see what colours dominated in my work during a certain time period. I am a huge fan of yellow – always have been, since I was little. I cannot say why, it just is a colour that makes me feel happy and makes me smile. What surprises me this year, is the amount of red in that picture. So much red!! I haven´ t been feeling red for a while. Therefore it is a big surprise. The blues, the greens and even the purples are more me.

I find strong pink tones very appealing at the moment, like on the card here – maybe that will be my dominating colour next year? Who knows :). I haven´ t decided on my word for 2022 yet. Have you? For some reason I long for peace. Might be that my word turns out to be calm, peace, calmness, peace of mind or something like that.

How about you? Did you do your #bestnine this year? I´ d love to see them!! Also, what were your colours this year and why do you think those colours in particular accompnied you? Also what about your word for 2022? Any preferences there? I´ d love to hear from you!!!

#tuac5minchallenge – Day 16

Hello and happy Monday! Whew, what a day this has been. Glad I could squeeze in the 5 mins to create and do the video… Therefore, just quickly sharing today´s The Ugly Art Club Day 16 #tuac5minchallenge:

And here is the video:

I did a random format again and also just concentrated on various media and random left over pieces that were on my table. I think it´s pure junk this time :). AND I love the colours on this piece! It´s slowly turning towards fall here and I tried to capture the summer feelings and colours on this one. I am not ready to let summer go. It was too short! I would need at least one more month for my spirit to gather some sunshine strength, but I cannot rule over the seasons, so I´m just left with colours from crayons here.. 😉

Have a good start into your new week!

#the100dayproject – days 96-100

Hello and happy Sunday! Today I´m shortly sharing the next faces of my personal #the100dayproject2021 challenge. Like mentioned before I drew a face a day on a pre-prepared, die cut tag. You can also see all the posts on my Instagram account (here), since I am now done with the drawing challenge. And you can also watch all the videos directly on my YouTube channel too (here).

And these are the very last ones! The challenge was so amazing to do. I have been scared to try it for such a long time.. silly of me really! What could happen if I failed? NOTHING! And all in all, I learned quite a lot during the 100 days on how I´m capable of things if I just put my mind to it AND that I have persistency enough for such a challenge. Maybe it´s also because I picked a good theme that was easy to work with. I didn´t put myself too many restrictions either which made working easier. And I was enthusiastic also. Might make a big difference too.

I enjoyed the challenge very much. And I had a good time drawing these faces. I learned alot and am happy with the development I made. I am now more confident when it comes to painting faces on canvases or into my art journal. Why? Because I have done a few and at least know what feels easy to me. I don´t have to make perfect, realistic faces, I can do ones I feel happy and comfortable with. Faces that match my skill level (which is beginner!). And it´s OK that way.

I might just challenge myself do some other things soon again in a similar manner. Pick a theme and do like, 50 days or a month or so. Just have fun and concentrate on something that is of interest to me. Does not have to be drawing at all.

So from my point of view I can highly recommend this type of challenges. And so what, if you take longer than 100 days to finish the 100 day challenge. That is totally ok too. Whatever works for you. Remember, you set these goals yourself and for yourself (and no-one else).

Happy drawing,

#tuac5minchallenge – DAY 9

Hello and happy Monday! Today I´m stopping by again with yet another The Ugly Art 5 min Challenge take. This, lovelies, is my take 9 for day 9. And I really, really, really like using these bold colours atm. I cannot get enough of them! Strong yellow and bright coral! Looove!

I wanted to use very old rub-ons on this one again (just basically to get them used, not having to throw them away). Well, it could have worked smoother… it took me ages to get ANY prints on that background, but finally I succeeded! And in the end I am very happy it´s not a perfect image/print there! Looks better the way it is.

In addition to the rub-ons I just simply dabbed some Distress Paint in delicious abandoned coral tone to the upper part of the paper and then misted it abit to make it “run” across the page. So love doing these droplets! And then I just added some tiny leftover misted ribbon pieces and adhered old book pages word here and there. For finishing touches it was Posca marker again! I love adding black contrast to my artwork.

See you again tomorrow!!!

#the100dayproject – Days 71-75

Hello and happy Sunday! Today I´m shortly sharing the next faces of my personal #the100dayproject2021 challenge. Like mentioned before I drew a face a day on a pre-prepared, die cut tag. For this set I did various types of faces and also used different media again, not only Neocolor 2´s. For the first one I wanted to do a little darker, black and white type of face and she somehow turnout out to be a nurse. Maybe due lockdown and Covid19 situation going on. The second one was a one-line type of face because of the bold background which I wanted to keep.

Day 73 was full-on colour and again my dearly loved Neocolors. For the following day I wanted to try an “older” face – meet wrinkles and tiredness. And the last one has lots of Dina Wakley Gloss Spray on the grey cardstock, thus I used Posca´s, because Neocolors would not work on the glossy surface so well.

Happy drawing,
