Art journal page

Hello and happy Friday!!! Yay to weekend!!! I haven´t been sharing any art journal pages in a while here, so today I´m doing so. This one is in a big Dylusions journal and created using Dina Wakley paints and Scribble Sticks as well as her Collage Collective book.

I´ve first done a stencil pattern with leftover paint onto the background (using my Onions in Raws stencil). Next I used a huge brush to add the blue swirlish pattern to the page. Then I added some diluted magenta paint into the middle. After that I drew circles with Scribble Sticks in orange and green.

After that I grabbed a Viva Las VegaStamp and stamped the pattern with black ink. Then I added some asemic writing (thanks to Tina I figured out how to do that! It´s my first try, so bare with me…) to the page and topped everything off with fussy cut Collage Collective book bits.

That´s it! I like how this page turned out. Especially the fact that I now know how to do asemic writing. It still needs plenty of practise, but I kind like doing it, so it will be a plesure practising.

Happy weekend, lovelies!!!

Art AJ page

Hello and happy Sunday!!! Now this is just random play, but I love the colours. A little something to bring me joy while I´m still missing my mojo. I just added stuff until I felt like there was nothing more to add – also obviously because the page was already so full (LOL).

I first painted the background in two colours – apricot and blue and then went from there. I added some writing with Posca pens onto the background. Just random things I felt like writing down.

Next I took the Carabelle circle stencil out and added some DWM gloss sprays thru it onto the background. Next I added random splots of spray onto the upper part and let them from droppings to the page. While that was drying I sprayed some residue chipboard with the gloss sprays and also pressed some gloss spray to the “tag” and then stamped the words onto the tag.

For finishing touches I added the sprayed chipboard and some fussy cut circles from another AJ page shared here previously. Then I did some details with Posca pens and added some Thickers for additional detail. That´s it!

Making this crazy mess felt much better already. So I´m hoping my mojo will soon return from whereever it went :).

Have a great Sunday and a good start into the new week!

XOXO AJ page

Hello and happy Saturday! This page started off with Dina Wakley gloss sprays and a stencil. I was just randomly spraying various colours onto the page and using a circle stencil by Carabelle Studio. Then the page got really crazy colorful and I had to do something.

So I drew a face and using black paint, painted the areas other than the face black. I really like doing this. That brings the page together and creates fun color pops to the black contrast.

And then I used some bits and bobs, strongly inspired by Deb Weiers work which I really, really admire. She makes awesome art! When feeling totally lost with my mojo, I tried bringing it back to life by trying out things others do so very well.

Creating this page made me smile again and felt better, than in a long time. But still no spark.. I´m hoping my mojo returns. I so want it to return. Maybe I´ve just run empty of art journaling mojo for now? Maybe I should try out another format, make ATC´s or cards or such? Maybe that is the problem. Next week I might try out doing something totally different for a change.

Hope your weekend is lovely!

Random Roses

Hi there and happy Tuesday! For starters, my mojo has been off or a few days now and it´d killing me. I want to create, then I sit down and nothing comes to me, just nothing. And everything I try, just sucks. Like these roses!

So I scribbled some roses into my art journal in the hope that my mojo would get better. Well, it obviously didn´t – as you can see from the result. So I left my crafty area and went to my loom. Better results there. Well, it´s also very easy, as you don´t have to think much. Just make a row after another. I´ve got 1 meter rug done in 2 days.

And then there is this (pulling a face). It´s not good. It didn´t help me get motivated either. BUT I´m saving it as a reminder. Also I can, if I want, later paint over it. Or kannibalize it (like Dina says and does). So that´s today´s story.

Until I find am bit of a mojo, I´ll be by my loom, I quess :). Have a great day!

Beauty “tag”

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! Today I´m again sharing another “tag” from my play time with Dina Wakley´s gloss sprays.

For this one I´ve used all kinds of residue pieces I had left over from previous play. The background has a layer of residue paint on it, on top of that there is a layer of Lindy´s spray ink.

Then, on top of that is a piece of Dylusions Creative Journal packaging paper that I applied some night gloss spray onto. There is also some magenta (does not show in the picture, sorry) gloss spray pressed onto the paper from a stencil. That was residue that I just could not wipe away.

Beneath the Dylusions paper there is stamping made with grey StazOn (stamp by Tim Holtz – Tiny Text). And on top of that paper, there is a cluster of Collage collective paper strips and a piece of used, dry, color covered baby wipe. All attached together with a tiny attacher. Then a hand written (thanks Lizzy!) sentiment and a few buttons.

I´m loving these “tags”! Creating them is almost meditative for me and I don´t think much when making them. Just putting stuff on paper :). So much fun!

Happy crafting,
