June Stencil Challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and happy June!!! It´s been raining and chilly almost throughout the month of May here, so I am truly hoping for a bit more sunshine and nicer weather for June *fingerscrossed*. But regardless of the weather, it´s again time to share the June STAMPlorations stencil challenge with you. Here is my take:

For the challenge reveal I created a stenciled and gelli plated card background which I then pimped up with Dina Wakley Gloss Spray misted stencil pattern on top.

So lot´s of colours and lots of layers. But still flat and easy to be put in an envelope and mailed.

This time of the year, when the garden starts to bloom, is my favorite time. So for June I deliberately chose these colours and flowers. There are also some rainbows hidden in the background to create texture.

I´ve totally neglected my gelli plate for a long time, so it was time to start using it again. I really do like the mixed media backgrounds you can create with a gelli plate. The make great card backgrounds too!

Now hop over to the STAMPlorations blog to see what the design team girls created for the reveal. And then, grab your stencils and play along with!! Just remember, that if you would like to be in for the prizes, you need to follow the rules :). They are really simple and always listed at the end of the challenge post at STAMPlorations blog.

Happy stenciling,

Follow your heart – card

Hello and happy Monday! Today I´m stopping by to share a mixed media card with you again. This one is full of colour and has a fun paper doll on it. All in all a very easy card to make, but still so much fun!

I´ve misted the background paper with Dina Wakley gloss sprays in 4 different colours. After it was dry, I added a few splatters of whit eon top and then decorated with card with a Tim Holtz paper doll, who has silver rays behind her hat and a big rhinestone heart.

Her being a girl scout I found the sentiment „follow your heart“ more than suitable for this card. It can be given away for a graduation or a childs move to college or leaving home and pursuing their own dreams. I so enjoy making this type of cards!!

Hoping your week is a good one!

April Stencil Challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and welcome to the STAMPlorations April Stencil Challenge reveal!!! It´s again time to play along with the fun stencil challenge, where you can create anything you please, as long as it features a stencil!!!

And here is my art project for this months reveal:

I again created an art journal page for my Ranger Art Journal – this time featuring colours I hardly ever use in my journal. Brown with mint green and pink. Well, pink you can find, but in this combo not so often!

There is some crazy layering going on on this page. I´ve done the tag with a Gelli Arts gel plate using acrylic paints, DIY foam stamps and then finishing the tag off with Dina Wakley Gloss Spray and my Art Flowers 1 stencil. On the background I´ve got a layer of gesso, then a layer of mint green spray ink, then a tissue piece I´ve stenciled the Art Flowers 1 pattern in ombré style. Then some very well hidden asemic writing. On top of that some strips of washi, designed by my lovely friend, Tina Walker! Then some bits and bobs from my other lovely crafty friend Lizzy that came in a happy mail awhile ago. Also featuring one of her was seals she sent me. Then some black ink splatters (still love adding them!). And some die cut leaves, covered with washi from Elizabeth Craft Designs. And for finishing touches the words that Lizzy also gave me.

As you can see, I was not exaggerating about the layers! I think this is one of the layer-richest pages in this journal so far. And still, it does not look too crowded. Still some white space here and there!!

Now it´s again your turn! Play along (and remember to play by the rules if you want to be in for the prizes!!!) and do some fab artworks with stencils! It can be anything from a wall art piece to textile work to aprons to ATC´s to cards or something else. Just AS LONG AS you used A STENCIL!! Hop over to the STAMP blog and get inspired by the DT girls creations and then have some stencil fun yourself! Can´t wait to see what you make!

Stencil Challenge Reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello and happy Monday! Have you played along with the STAMPlorations March stencil challenge yet? No? No worries, there is still enought time to do so! Today´s reminder post is your inspiration boos for joining in ;-).

This is my project for the reminder post:

For this page I used the Tree 1 stencil´s negative image as my starting point on the background. I had plenty of Dina Wakley Gloss Spray on the stencil, so I just simply pressed the wet stencil onto the page and voilá! The lovely pattern was there. I really like the negative stencil image so much. On top of that I added some Art Flowers 2 stencil flowers with pink Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and the did some asemic writing onto the background.

For decor I added some Elizabeth Craft Designs artsy washi tape (cut into circles) and a hand drawn face of a lady. I originally did a full face, but then later cut it into halves to create a more abstract look. The „earring“ is by the way, also Elizabeth Craft Designs washi tape, fussy cut into an earring form. The lady is created using Posca pens and Dina´s Gloss sprays for coloring. I finished the page off with a hand drawn and fussy cut word „harmony“.

Creating this page was so much fun! I hope I could inspire you to play along with the STAMPlorations stencil challenge!! Do hop over to their blog for more inspiration by my design team colleagues! And remember, only by playing by the rules you are eligible for the prizes ;-). And now, HAVE SOME STENCIL FUN 🙂 !!!

#the100dayproject – Days 5-10

Hello and happy Monday! Today I´m stopping by to share my next faces drawn on tags for my personal #100daysoffaces 2021 challenge. If you want to see them go live every day, then you should follow my Instagram account for the daily posts. I´ll share them here on my blog in groups with links to the videos.

Day 5

For this tag I first die cut a piece of white cardstock with the STAMPlorations tag die and then misted the background with Dina Wakley Media Gloss Sprays and then drew the face in a few very simple lines using a Stabilo all black pen. For shading I used a water tank brush. That´s it!

Day 6

This tag is a Dina Wakley Media white tag that I pre-treated with acrylic paints and stencil using a Gelli Arst gelli plate. On top of that I drew a face and added colour with Neocolor 2 pens.

Day 7

This tag is die cut with a Tonic Studios nesting tag die and then misted with Dylusions Spray Inks in red and blue tone. After that I drew the face lines with a black Posca pen and added colour with Neocolor 2 pens.

Day 8

For this tag I first die cut it from grey cardstock with a Tonic Studios tag die and then added a splatter of black paint onto it. On the black painted area I then drew a face with a white Signo Uni-ball pen and added colour with Neocolor 2´s again.

Day 9

For this tag I had added Distress Oxides onto a white STAMPlorations tag die die cut piece as a background colour detail and then drew the face lines with a black Posca pen and added colour using various shades of Posca´s.

Day 10

Finally for my day 10 tag I first die cut it with a STAMPlorations tag die into shape from grey cardstock, then added spritzes and splatters with Dina Wakley Media Gloss Sprays. I „saw“ a face in the form (see the video for that!) and drew what I saw and it ended up like a Pocahontas or Walt Disneys Hiawatha´s sister kind of face. Drew with Posca´s.

So these were days 5-10. There is more coming. Remember always to check out the videos – you´ll find the links to them always under each photo. They are very short, so they won´t take too much time ;-).

Have a great week!
