Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I am sharing another mixed media tag I did recently and sent it on it´ s way to Germany. Hoping it has arrived there already, I am posting this tag today :).

This is a gelli printed background combined with stamping, stenciling with Nuvo Drops and fussy cut bits. There is also a really tiny Hambly Screen Print included on the tag. It´ s been in my stash FOREVER!

Some Posca pens for additional detail and a Stampotique stamp by Daniel Torrente combined with Klartext stamp and a 7gypsies stamp. I also added fussy cut hearts and stenciled Nuvo Drops thru one of my Stamplorations stencils.

I hope this tag makes/made the recipient happy :)! It was just a little happy mail surprise just for fun.

See you soon again!

Heavy Stuff – STAMPlorations Mixed Media Challenge

Hello there, lovelies and welcome to a new Mixed Media Challenge with the STAMPlorations blog and store!

For today´s challenge reveal I deciced to create a funky art journal page with a stamped image and some meaninful sentiments. Here is what I did:

This page is a reminder for myself to try and keep the thoughts around the good stuff, to do more of the stuff I love and enjoy and just not to dry and drag and dwell in the ugly and challenging stuff too much.

Here are the steps on how I created this page:

First I applied some grey acrylic paint with a palette knife very generously and randomly onto the page.

Next I took a Rose Portrait paint tone and applied it onto the surface and then placed the stencil on top. Now I took a baby wipe and wiped some of the paint off the page, this created a really nice heart pattern (you can see a better result in the picture underneath).

Following the rose tone I applied some Cerulean Blue Hue paint with the palette knife thru the Dots all over stencil onto the page. I also repeated this step with Lemon Yellow paint tone and the same stencil, however I forgot to take a photo of that step. Sorry for that! That is what happens when you get excited about the creative process and forget to take step-by-step photos :).

After stenciling the paint I took a piece of tissue paper and stamped some Noteworthy 2 stamp set sentiments onto the tissue paper with a black ink.

I also used a Stampotique stamp by Daniel Torrente (the girl above) and repeated the previous step.

Then I very randomly fussy cut the pieces and adhered them onto the page with a decoupage adhesive.

Finally I mixed some heavy body Magenta paint (Dina Wakley) with a modeling paste and applied the tinted paste thru the Oh My Stars! stenci onto the page.

In the end I outlined the stars with a black pen, added some white paint splatters and dots for additional decor and colored the girl image with Posca pens.

Since this challenge is again for the Things with Wings theme, I also drew some wings for the girly image and colored them with Posca pens.

I really like the quirky, fun look of this page and the message it´s sending. There has been so much going on lately and not all the stuff happening has been good, so I felt like creating a reminder for myself to keep the happy stuff in my mind instead of dwelling in the hard stuff. So in a way this page is a uplifting one (<- wings, fly, lifting up, flying high) … so it´s just perfect for this months theme! 🙂

Hope you will play along with us and give this theme a twist of your own! Cannot wait to see what you guys create!!!!

Happy stenciling,
xxx, Sanna
