Looking back at 2017

I am glad it´s over – I am not going to miss 2017! It was a year of struggles, bad luck and lots of worries. I´m glad it´s done and dusted. It was a year of continuous trials and tests on a personal level. What am I taking with me from the past year? Lot´s of lessons learned about life, myself and strength. It was a tough year and it tired me out pretty much. So I´m glad to have taken a few days off from all of that and to get ready to embrace the new year.

This was my fave minibook from 2017:I´d like to share some of my “most liked” work (according to Instragram :D, that is..) with you and then also talk about more positive things. This is a collection of nine of my most liked work on Instragram during 2017 (thank you for following and liking me there!!!!):

2017 in figures: I created a total of 13 sets of ATC´s past year, 8 home decor projects, 4 minibook projects, 8 scrapbook layouts, 35 tags, more than 90 cards, 4 wall art projects, 7 art journal sheets and a couple other crafty projects as well. So all in all I was very active, crafty wise. Not to mention a nice number of YouTube videos and my very first own stencil designs, making their first ever appearance in November. That was a very special highlight in my year for sure.

These were my fave wall art project from last year:
When you keep in mind that I work in a fulltime job, the number of projects listed above is a good amount. I´ve had people ask me why I do it? Well, I constantly feel the need to be creative in some way. It is my place of peacefulness in middle of crazy everyday life. I find happiness in what I do and I want to still develop, learn new things and try out new products and techniques. I can so relate to my lovely friend Tina, who practically shuts herself away from the outside world on weekends just to get some creative time for herself. Other people run marathons, we create :D, it´s that simple.

This was my favorite card project from 2017:
In 2017 I was lucky to design with/for Elizabeth Craft Designs, Studio Forty Designs, Canvas Corp Brands and STAMPlorations. I´ve cherished every single possibility and loved working with their products. In 2018 I will be continuing working with&for Canvas Corp Brands and STAMPlorations as a design team member and very happy to be guesting from time to time at Elizabeth Craft Designs.

This tag and ATC were my faves from 2017:
I´ve added some of my fave projects from 2017 into this post to share a summary of my 2017 art with you. Creative wise the year was really good to me, the rest could have been better, but I suppose there is also a reason these experiences were necessary, so I´ll just take it as as lessen from life and look forward to a much better 2018!!! Who knows how it will turn out, but I´m excited about the new adventures it has to offer :).

And a fave layout from 2017 would be this one – happy memories:
Wishing you all a lovely new year with less drama and lots of tranquility, peacefulness and joy! Thank you for stopping by my blog from time to time and leaving some love here. It is very much appreciated <3

See you again soon with new papercrafting projects and adventures,
xxx, Sanna

Stenciled bookmark – STAMPlorations

Hello there everyone! It´s my turn today to share another mixed media step-by-step tutorial with you. I am very much looking forward to spring already and I have noticed that it shows in my recent work – mainly can be noticed in my color choices. And this project is no exception – lots and lots of happy spring colours peeking here and there. Hope you like it!

Here is what I created:

Take a piece of white plain cardstock (or a big manila tag). Cut into a tag form if you are using a piece of cardstock. Then spray with pink spray ink and let dry or use a heat tool to dry the surface.

Place the Flutterby ARTplorations stencil onto the misted, dry surface and take a palette knife and some Viva Decor Glitter Paste and apply the paste thru the stencil onto the tag with the palette knife. Since the paste is very “grainy”, make sure you wash the stencil after you have used it.

Remove the stencil carefully and let the paste air dry before moving over to the next step.

Take book themed paper bits and scraps, fussy cut them into right size and start adhering them onto the tag as you like. Add punched/die cut elements like butterflies to go with the background theme and decorate with ribbon, washi tape, brads, music notes and whatever you find suitable for the theme.

Take the Trendy Birds 2 stamps and a piece of old book paper and partially ink the sentiment stamp (only the word wings) and press the inked word into the paper. Fussy cut the word.

Next take the Trendy Feathers 2 stamp set and again only partially ink the stamp sentiment with the word “mind” on it and press onto a piece of old book paper. Then fussy cut along the edges.

After that take small alpha stickers and build the quote “Books give wings to the mind” with the partially stamped words and the alpha stickers. I always adhere the alpha stickers with paper glue to make sure they really stick to the surface and don´t come off later. Sometimes the adhesive bedind the alphas is not that strong on it´s own. Finally, add some white ink splatters for additional interest on top of all layers. If you don´t prefer splatters, just skip this step. That´s it. Here are some detail photos of the finished tag.

Hope you get inspired to play with glitter paste and stencils!!! Have fun!!!

If you got inspired and cannot wait to get some shopping done at the STAMPlorations store – you might want to make use of the above code for a 20% reduction of your order :)….

Memories Tag – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone! Time for another fun little stencil project for this weeks STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday. This time I created a doodled background tag with lots of droplets on it.

Well, it has sure been raining here this summer, so why not go with the flow (haha!) and use some water droplets. Here is what I did:

Sanna Lippert - stenciled water droplet background tagThis tag is really easy to make, but the effect is pretty cool:

Sanna Lippert - stenciled water droplet background tagStep 1: Take a black tag, white gel pen, a stencil of your choice (mine is by STAMPlorations: Droplets Mini) and place the stencil over the tag and start tracing along the droplet patterns thru the stencil with the white pen. More the stencil as you proceed with the doodling. Finally add some details to the droplets to make them look more “real”. Sanna Lippert - stenciled water droplet background tagStep 2: Gather all kinds of embellishments you have in your stash and start adding those in layers. I used some mold to create my own embellishments (by Mold Muse) out of gypsum. Then I misted them (Tattered Angels) in green and blue. The buttons are actually rubber buttosn. They add a fun feel to the project. Sanna Lippert - stenciled water droplet background tagStep 3: Keep on adding layers until you are satisfied with the end result. I added some book paper, buttons, gypsum mold images, some lace, ribbon and golden yarn. Stamp a sentiment (STAMPlorations Create stamp set) with black ink onto a piece of old book paper, fussy cut and glue onto the tag. Attach a white lace on top and the tag is finished. Here is the finished result (and some details shots):
