Altered clothes tag – STAMPlorations

Hello lovelies, it´s again time for another Stencil Sunday project post! It is a weekly feature brought to you by the STAMPlorations girls in the Mixed Media design team. Every Sunday, there is a post up over at the STAMPlorations blog, where team members share their mixed media projects showcasing ARTplorations stencils and STAMPlorations stamps.  You willl find more information about this Sunday´s projects by visiting the STAMPlorations blog (do also check the teamies links to their blogs for deeper information on each project)!

Here is my project:

Altered clothes tagStep 1: I had a really nice sized clothes tag on my son´s sweater which I wanted to alter to a present tag. I first covered the logo with a piece of old book paper. Then I took the Trendy Birds 2 stamp set and stamped some flying birds onto the background with a black ink.

Altered clothes tagStep 2: Next I placed the Bubbles Mini stencil over the tag and applied transparent texture paste thru it onto the tag. I let the layer dry overnight.

Altered clothes tagStep 3: After the layer was completely dry, I applied some Tea Dye and Evergreen Bough Distress Ink onto the tag with a blending tool.

Altered clothes tagStep 4: After that I added a punched yellow flower and a yellow button to the tag with a strong paper glue. Next I stamped a sentiment (Trendy Birds 2 set) onto a piece of book paper, fussy cut it and glued it onto the tag. Finally I added a piece of lace which I colored with green Distress Ink. In the end I also added some white texture spray splatters on top of the tag for additional interest.     Altered clothes tag This is how the finished present tag looks like. It will add a nice, personalized detail to a future present :). In fact I might add it to my wedding anniversary present for my husband this weekend :). Altered clothes tagAnd the July Mixed Media Challenge runs until the end of the month! If you want to play, you still have a little time left to get messy and share your non-card mixed media projects. It’s anything mixed media except a card…and you must use a stencil (any brand or even a homemade one!) in your project(s). For the complete challenge info + prizes, click here.

Happy crafting!

Life is a garden – Canvas Corp Brands

Happy April, everyone! How´s the weather at your end? We´ve had our share of rain, storms and hail mixed with beautiful sunshine days – typical April weather, so to say. And how´s your gardening getting along? We have started..but mainly kept with sowing some seeds and waiting them to grow. We like to work in our little garden with cherry and plum trees and a small vegetable garden. Here is a garden themed layout, I created with the new Watering Can collection while waiting for this years season to start:

and here is a little step-by-step about how this page came together:

I first sprayed the lovely bicycle paper (Bikes and Baskets on Ivory) background with a light yellow, light blue and light pink Glimmer Mist. And then added some wripped and misted old book page pieces onto the background.

Next I started adding all kinds of little bits and pieces in clusters around the photos. Some paper roses, spray inked pieces of tissue paper, pearl swirls (now that sounds funny written like that :)..). The watering can and the journaling pieces are from the Garden Sayings on Ivory paper.

The are also some wood veneer hearts here and there as well as some sticker words to add to the journaling of the page.

I´ve even added some clay elements here and there which I made myself with molds. These are also colored with Glimmer Mist to add to the color scheme of the page.

Thanks for coming over and taking a look! Always lovely to hear from you guys, so would love if you left me a comment <3 !

Happy gardening, lovelies!
